oh they make some hot women makes me question my sexuality lmao. great tine though. as an american im glad im one of the only people out of a thousand that even know the stranglers and all their solo work. america has shitty taste in music ill tell you that much...
One of the best and least known albums I was lucky enough to own. On the one hand it feels cool that I have something that others never found but music this good should really be shared.
50% of the Stranglers, maybe Hugh and Jet prefer coffee - or whiskey?
Fab song.
Why no Jet solo work? He probably has other solo hobbies he keeps private, or maybe he just likes to to be a full time Strangler? But yes solo Jet would be nice.
still love this track after all these years. all the solo work of hugh, jj and dave contained pearls. too bad jet never made a solo album. I'd be curious.
F()CK ME! I haven't heard this since it came out. Can't beieve I have stumbled across it and with the other tracks on the album. Brilliant. My mate had it and I didn't buy it. Always regretted it and over time forgot track names........until now! Have got to get this on vinyl to add to stranglers collection. It still sounds just as good, brought back good memories.
I had the album but moving many times meant I lost the record HOWEVER I have the sleeve autographed by JJ and Dave at the time. I'v gotta frame it some day.
It is of course Rain, dole and tea by JJ Burnell and Dave Greenfield. Sung by Maggie Riely this tune is perhaps the most marketable tune from the "fire and water "album.
Like the rest of the album it forms the musical basis for the film 'Ecoutez Vos Murs' by Vincent Coudanne
Have recently rediscovered the Fire and Water LP after ebay perchase. Always Loved JJ's solo... Rain Dole and Tea getting continuous plays presently... Just wonder if there was ever a video made for this? Regards
He promised me everything although he was poor, but what good is everything if he just lives on the dole. Always loved that lyric. And you know your stuff steveResin, my hat is very much off to you.

Yes they did make a video. I've never seen it tho. I've been looking for it for 25 years with no luck. It's the Holy Grail!
