Hi, nice solo. Snare sounds good, I presume it's a Tama 6"x14"?
I tell you, I've got a vintage, Tama Swingstar and that snare is one motherfucker!
It's a basic, Swingstar-snare, 6"x14", tuned the top skin as high as possible, ("until your knuckels turn white", as mr. Copeland says..) and it sounds awesome! The best way to listen to your snare, is have it played by another drummer. So I did, and I was glowing while hearing it... So incredible!
Well this is a really good question! Stewart is a very good drummer and about the sound this snare is one of the best by Tama very similiar to the Stewart's sound! Thanks to visit me!
Hi big man well, the snare is the Stewart Copeland tama signature. On top Coated Remo Ambassador on bottom Ambassador clear. About the drum. The drum is a Tama superstar so I take the idea from Copeland about the drumhead: on top rempo emperor clear on bottom, ambassador clear. Thanks to visit me, keep in touch!
Hey man just take a look to the title of the video are you drunk or what? I play this solo with the Stewart Copeland's snare drum I'm not Stewart Copeland!
Hi! I know that I'm not Stewie this is only a joke for me. By the way I can do a lot of Steve Gadd tricks. I like Stewie and also he is not Buddy Rich! Everyone try to do the best it's possible I' not a professionist just an amateur and in Italy we are not lucky just the guys in US or in Uk we have not school and the music here is not seriusly It' s a pity!
Nice vid. I lurrrrve my SC snare. He's far from grumpy. He's passionate about his music and voices his opinions about it. I've seen nothing but smiles on his face (and bliss while playing) throughout the reunion tour.
Well! what can I say about the incredible Neil Peart! He's a fantastic drummer. I like also: Steve Gadd, Gregg Bissonette, Rick Latham, Manu Katche ecc. Stewart is a very good drummer too fast for my skills but I like very much it's style. Buy
honestly I think the snare sounds killer and you should try different tunings and find what you like best, your playing is fine too, better audio would be nice but your audio is also hands above most on youtube and good enough to get the point across.
Hmm the snare deserves to sound the way it was designed to sound. The batterhead is tuned way too loose which makes it sound like any other snare. The tight snare sound Copeland gets from it sounds awesome but it dont sound anything like that in this one. Bad audio too. Hopefully u can u can upload a newer video with good audio and tune the drum like Copeland does. This time id love to hear more solid flams rather than rolls n paradiddles. Hope thats cool.
Tha nks for your comment. The snare drum is very sharp and powerfull but the problem of the sound is that I did this joke with a digital camera and I know that it's not good. Stewart Copeland is my favourite drummer and with this video I didn't want to emulate it. On the drums I prefer to use a deep sound on the tom toms but Stewart no. I promise next time it will be better. Thanks a lot. Bye
Thanks a lot for your comment. I learned all the rudiments with a book call: "Modern interpretetion of the snare drum rudiment" by Buddy Rich. Maybe the best book in all the world!!!!! Bye Davide

There was nothing in there to compare you with Copeland except his signature snare....................I reckon he'd change that it if he heard this..
Much work to do !

That snare is really good. I like my tuned really high with a controlled sound on. It is only 5x14 but it will kill everything in the room.
