I am not sure whether this is true for Mangos, but for many fruit and vegetables, the agriculture industry genetically manipulates the seeds so that they cannot properly sustain a new plant. This is mainly done so that farmers keep buying genetically manipulated seeds from labs. So good luck in getting a tree to grow!
@Chimpalimp1001 For my case, this claim is false. I live in South Florida and blessed to have a spacious backyard. I have a lychee tree, a mango tree, a jocote tree, a longan tree, and a níspero tree. They have all grown over fifteen feet tall and have born fruit at least once! Their fruit tastes soooo good :)
Informative video Makes me hungry. I would peel it on a cutting board instead of a plate, it might be less slippery. But what's with all the mean and critical comments below?
Those people should use some of their energy to fight real problems in the world instead of criticizing a person who wants to share his mango cutting technique!
I bought a few mangoes for the first time today. I was looking for something informative and easy. This video was way too long for peeling and cutting. You don't do well with speaking either. Maybe practice beforehand next time. I was looking to cube the mango so I could divide it and eat a little for breakfast several days in a row. I don't want to see uneven slabs in a video that is supposed to teach me something. I could have done that myself.
@YouDefinePathetic Yeah genius here wants you to show him how to cut it into perfect cubes and can't figure out how to get there from the uneven slabs you created. Mangos should be immediately cut into perfect cubes with no uneven steps in between or it is too confusing for the stupidest among us.
Dude, This was painfully long and wrong. Cut the peel around the centerline. Run a metal spoon over the seed and remove the meat from the peel with a wine glass. You will get a cleaner cut and waste less of the fruit.
As an Eagle scout I must add, that you are dangerously careless with that knife.
Here in Thailand Mango is very cheap so I eat many every day.
They are completely yellow here when ripe and slightly bigger than the ones in the video.

The only thing is, I live in Sweden and the mangos you can buy here, are the really green ones....so apperently we arent getting the ripe ones...
