  • did you know that *botos* become pinker when they are excited or surprised ...that awsome hehe .

  • I want to hug one! They're so cute!

  • Listen here, badseed 136. I'm part Brasilian and from my experiences in Brasil, the people have treated me with much more love and respect than most have in this country. And from someone who knows firsthand, they DO care about the environment, especially the Amazon. My Brasilian father is one of the biggest animal/environmental lovers I know. So before you go pointing you finger at other nationalities, take a look at what the U.S has done. Whos fighting a greedy war right now again?

  • its not a greedy war, we're trying to catch a terrorist thats putting lives in danger, anyways thats one dumb ass red neck american ignore him.

  • @ badseed two words for you MULTINATIONAL CORPORATIONS!!! (usually us in orginN)

  • dude awesome video! I rated it 5 :P

  • Why did such a wonderful and essential ecosystem have to be situated in that trifecta of third world shitholes were people overvalue their lives at the cost of the environment???

  • You are a retard . The amazon is perfect and that is s why beautiful creatures like this ,live there. If they were here they would be captured in some aquatic park and wouldn't have the freedom they deserve. You don't seem tot know how nature works,do yourself a favor and learn about other countries before you open your ignorant mouth. By the way, those third world countries you mention, live mostly out of their own resources, not like Some countries that has everything made in China.

  • I agree the amazon is perfect. That´s why it sucks when brazil, ecuador and colombia think is better to burn it down for wood or farming land. Or flood it to built hydroelectric dams. Or capture the different an unique animals to sell them in the black market with the complicity of the authorities. That was my point. If the amazon was pat of let´s say Sweden, it would an untouchable protected area.

  • @badseed136 ignorance.

  • these dolphins are very shy and they have good reason to be.

  • its cool because pink goes pretty nicely with dolphins :3

  • its like cacthing a rare pokemon, lol, jk

  • that actually the first thing i thought of when i heard about this lol. i was like oh snap red garados lol

  • your silly....craaazy guy :D

  • Protest Norway's plan to capture and display endangered pink Amazon River dolphins in an aquarium. Many pink dolphins will die quickly in captivity. Info at website of whale and dolphin conservation society. Click on "International"

  • better in an aquarium than a tuna net- at least theyèll learn flips!!!

    jk- save the dolphins

  • why will they die?

  • people hunting them, people depleteing their food sources, people depleteing their environments. its peoples fault basically. we take and take til theres nothing left to take. as once said in the matrix "we are a virus, a plague" gotta admit, its true.

  • yes..they're called Botos! There's a very interesting story about them.. people in the Amazon used to believe that, at night, the Boto turns into a man. And it wears a hat, to cover up the hole in it's head! So, when the little girls got pregnant, they used to say it was from the Botos!

Very interesting story... better than face the fact that your kid is a whore! hahahha

    =)

  • lol I remember learning about those dolphins in that old mac game, Amazon Trail. Aren't they called Botos?

  • we don't have then in zoos because they're endangered, rare, and thrive best in their natural habitat. think about it. do you REALLY take an endangered species out of its natural habitat, and risk it dying by transportation all the way across the world, or having it die in a zoo? i'd rather have them live their live in the wild, where they belong.

  • its more the fact we now little about it and river dolphin species dont have a prodidgeous breeding record

  • i would definitly , human caring would be moe suitable than living it in the natural havitat, who know how many pouchers are out there wanting to catch this rare result albinism

  • a boto :)

  • i know its a pink dolphin and evrything but it kinda looked like it was bleeding but i know it wasn't

  • BOTO ROSA

  • i saw an episode like this on wild thornberrys :) except it was a girl and she wanted a friend and tried to lure debby(the older sister) into the water to be transformed. was a pretty cool episode lol

  • aww, it's shy. it also probably ate already.

  • from greenpeace site ''Many consider the pink dolphin to be mystical creatures and local legends surrounding its powers are common. Perhaps the most popular fable is that the spirit of a drowned person enters the body of the boto, which can change into a young man on land.''

  • Yeah, the legend says oce it has Human form, it start to seduce women and.. I don't know about the rest XD

  • wat if its a girl dolphin though? lol

  • Well, nothing happen then. This legend was probably be created as an excuse to adultery.

About a spirit in the boto's body, I don't know abot that. I just know the part the Boto transforms into a man (usually dressed with white pants/tuxedo and a white hat) and seduce women and, after, comes back to the water.

  • is there other dolphins in the world like this or just one

  • pink? only in amazon...

    that a specie of dolphin

  • why dnt we have em in like a zooo

  • there one in sentanos singapore i think

  • now what they want to kill of these dolphins too.then after that all animals then man is last.

  • And here I thought Diego was makin' that shit up.

  • those dolphins were declared extinct last year.

  • The Baiji, a chinese river dolphin was declared extinct. the amazon botos are doing ok. the locals think they are sacred and never harm them

  • That was the Chinese Dolphin not the Brazilian one. Hopefully they wont go through the same fate as them.

  • thats not true

  • wow

  • muito bom...pena que não deu pra ve-lo muito bem...

  • was this species identified before? i've never seen this animal. very cool.

  • I too have never seen this animal before.I have seen many other types of dolphins at splashvision . com but not this one.

  • Dont touch them! lol, they are gonna get used to boats and get runover! XD
