  • I cannot stop laughing

  • 6 people can't breath......

  • do american kids need to be taught how to breathe? figures.

  • WTH is Droopy doing singing on Sesame Street?

  • *gasp gasp* Dat's better. :U

  • the guy singing sounds retarded!

  • @cjk247 So does the person posting who claims that.

  • @funkybunny9966 probably your brother singing, right?

  • @cjk247 Well at least you didn't use a mom joke from the 1980's. You are awesome! Good luck to ya.

  • what happened to sesame street???? when i was a kid there was classics like this one, now it's all elmo and useless things. my mum told me i learned my abc's from sesame street before i started school. can't see any child learning anything from it these days.

  • @shine01120 its on all levels of America, poor quality, look and see, the past was best ....

  • 6 people didn't do their breathing :)

  • this makes me appreciate breathing so much... but then i cant stop thinking about the fact i have to breath... and then it annoys me

  • @jokezstar When I was a kid I sometimes worried that the ir in the world would run out after a while...funny the things you worry about as a child. Of course, I used to worry about the Bomb, too

  • @jokezstar When I was a kid I sometimes worried that the air in the world would run out after a while...funny the things you worry about as a child. Of course, I used to worry about the Bomb, too

  • Haha when we were driving from Connecticut to Alaska my mom played this for me on repeat. Needless to say my dad had earplugs firmly in his ears after about the 20th time xD

  • @frogger91087 Woah! that's a long drive! How did you like Canada?

  • @Trund27 I was too little to remember :)

  • @frogger91087 :0)

  • Thumbs up if you thought the parrot looked like he was singing along.

  • That walrus totally rocks his whiskers!

  • @Trund27 myth busted!

  • @Muppephile AWESOME!! Jamie

  • @Trund27 I totally want a walrus mustache. I met someone with a walrus mustache, who worked at an antarctic education center, oh the irony. I felt like saying "wrong hemisphere pal!"

  • @Muppephile LOL!

  • awesome i haven't seen this in almost 40 years and it came right to me! tyfp!

  • i love this song but it is funny tho and i think i need to take a breath allso

  • Sweet song. One of my favourite Joe Raposo songs for Sesame Street.

  • This is what kids need today things they can learn from, not just video games with killing and blood.

  • thanks i was looking for this

  • This is straight hilarity.

  • That sounds like Jerry Lewis!

  • I remember when I was a kid, I would try to yawn myself when I saw that, but when this guy said "bweaff," as you put it, I'd laugh, and that really ticked me off.

  • take a breath!!!

  • is this barney frank singing?

  • The BEST thing about this video is the TITLE!!! That made me LAUGH!!! Because EVERY kid back then would refer to this clip as the "Take a BWEAFF" song!!! I remember wondering WHY the singer sounded like that!!

  • hell yea!

  • The voice sounds more like Droopy from the old cartoons. LOL

  • Did Joe Rasopo sing this song??

  • this song is form my childhood and pops into my head every so often...

    solid advice...

  • Omg...I feel like I'm five years old again...

  • Odd. I was in the grocery store and, although I haven't heard this song in about 25 years...it popped into my head and I couldn't stop singing 'take a bweaff.' FFS. I had to find it and listen to it again....So here I am.

    Take a bweaff.

  • Someone's got a bad cold! Have some Comtrex and tissue, Joe! ;-)

  • I love this song. This was one of the things I liked on Sesame Street as a little kid, one of the many parts of the show that DIDN'T scare me!

  • Thats better, LMFAO!

  • Its a classic!

  • the guy who sings this song is in a cosby show episode. the one with sammy davis jr. at the end when he's in the waiting room, the little guy who teaches him to read!! now i can put the face with the voice.

  • If you pay attention, to me it kinda sounds like Adam Sandler covering his mouth singing this song. And he always does childrens music. Who did this song?

  • Sounds like a cross between Jerry Lewis and Droopy

  • lol! I love this vid! :P XD

  • TAKE A BWEAFF AND USE SOME BREFF MINTS

  • That voice sounds almost like the old Simpsons episode where Bart has to wear elevator shoes, scalp cream and has his throat sprayed!!!!! Anyone else think so?

  • It's kind of sad when you have to teach kids how to breath huh? lol//

Great song though...Brought back lots of great memories!//

  • Ummm...what is a "bweaff"? I looked for it in my dictionary, on-line, & in ALL my Sign Language books, but I can't find the definition. I am deaf. Do you think these videos will EVER be Captioned for the Hearing-Impaired?

  • It's a mis-pronounciation of "breath"... as if someone has a cold and their nose is stuffy or they have a mouth full of cotton-balls. =)

  • Oh! I see! Thank you SO much! I HATE being deaf! There are TOO many differences between the 2 cultures! {SIGH!} Thaks again.

  • I know the feeling. Well sort of... No, I am not deaf, I am near totally blind; I have very little vision, & sometimes, I can't tell what's happening in a video if there is not enough dialogue or if there is very little detailed description in the video, so I share your frustration, but from a different perspective.

  • He's saying: "Take a breath, smell smell, sniff sniff"... but with a mouth full of marbles and a heavy nasal voice. That's why it is written "bweaff" instead of "breath"...

  • OH! That what it is! Thank you VERY much for clearing that up! Do you think YouTube will EVER have "Closed-Caption" capabilities for the deaf/hearing-impaired (Such as me)?

  • Youtube has had closed captioning for a long time, but the catch is that the user has to put it in the video. Most people are too lazy.

  • Aw, FF-ooey! {To use the "FF"s in the title[LOL!]}

  • Raposo was just wonderul, eh ?? great post !! Thanx !1

  • oh.... my.... god.... I totally remember this. I love how you titled the video take a bweaff

  • he sounds like a pregnant woman having contractions at the end of the song haha!!

  • Sounds like he has something in his mouth! This makes me cringe! Must take a breath!

  • Bweath: Translated from New York language: Breath.

  • this is one that will always be stuck in my head haha Love It!

  • I use to hate when he said Bweaf. --thought it was 'cutesie' then 20 years ago and still do now.

  • ME TOO!

    ugh

  • but its so funny, its horrificly eye scratchingly cutesie but in small doses its awesome

  • argh

why did i spend endless seconds copy pasting into the web adress, why??

    lol nice one

  • How cute. This is one of those Sesame Street songs that stuck in my head years after I first heard them!

    Take a breff!!! LOL

  • i still have it stuck in my head...

  • i'd rather let my children watch youtube sesame street scenes then the mindless dribble elmo & his re-done colleagues put out now.

  • @ladybaillio I disagree.

The reason for the changes is due to extensive research. Sesame Street has ALWAYS been about education, and they always use the methods that are seen to have the best response from kids.

Elmos world? That was invented because research showed that young children's interest waned entirely during the last 15 minutes of the show, so they added it to re-engage them.

  • So many silly songs from Sesame Street! Having fun for its own sake is great, hm? ^^

  • the singer iis David! lol

    yes sounds like droopy

  • The singer is Joe Raposo.

  • Northern Calloway. David.

  • Yeah, he does sound kinda like Tex Avery's droopy - "Y'know what? I'm happy."

  • OMG the voice SO FUNNY!!

i remember singing this on my comedy tape

    (pant THATS BETTER!)

    PANT take a bwuff

  • I love it! Haven't seen this since I was a kid.

  • Omg this brings me back, one of my favorite classic sesame street songs, I also like the water water water song, everybody sleeps, and the pigs that walked in style

  • Hahahha "Bweaff"!!

  • I also posted for the older 'Take a Bweaff' video, and am just wondering when this one goes back to. Also, who is the singer - is it Northern Calloway (David) on both of them or on just one of them? I thought it was Joe Raposo (or did he just write the lyrics for this song?)

  • Vocals here are by Northern Calloway (David).

  • Ilike this skitt too fro all those animals in there I love animals. Will someone do me a favor? put more animal skits on. If some one find the one whre joe raposo did the skit with the walrus put that on too please. And wasn't there one with a rattlesnake? No one told me wat zoo these skits come from.

  • This is one of my absolute favorites! My niece loves it too! It makes me happy to hear it and brings back good memories!

  • I've never seen that Long Hard Climb clip. I'd love to check it out but I can't find it anywhere. Does anyone have it?

  • This is an updated 90's version.I have the origional version.I'll post it when I can.

  • Jerry Lewis, that's who it sounds like! Always reminded me of someone, couldn't peg it.

  • Sounds more like Bill Thompson and Buddy Hackett!

  • In this song, Joe Raposo sounds either like Bill Thompson or Buddy Hackett!

  • also the voice of droopy dog.

  • I LOVE this skit. take a bweaff ::inhales deeply, exhales:: lol

  • Raposo was great, also check out Long Hard Climb with the chameleon,it's a hoot, you'll instantly remember it when the song begins.

  • Long hard climb was with a tree frog.

  • Oops,that's what I meant! LOL

  • I agree with everyone who said how much they love this song! The parrot looks as if he's singing along!

  • Great memories!

  • hahaha lol

  • awesome! does anyone remember Hard Workin Dog? It was a song about a cowdog.

  • Wasn't there another version of this video? It's hard to find!

  • There was an older version of it, with different scenes, I know that, but I don't have it, and I don't know if anyone else has it.

  • lol, i loved this when i was little.

    heck, i still do!

  • I always thought the voice was a Jerry Lewis parody,I can still remember the tune at 40!

  • LOL!!! It really DOES sound like "Take a bweaff!" This is one of my all time favorites!

"So take a good deep bweaff!"

    *pantpant*

    "That's better!"

  • Man, I remember this one vividly, thanks a bunch!

  • LOL, funny voice.

  • I had completely forgotten about this one. Animals are sooo funny!

  • I'm just amazed they used the word "ventilation" in a kids' song. You wouldn't see that nowadays. They've dumbed down kids' shows to stupid things like Teletubbies.

  • I remember kind of being annoyed with this song as a kid... like I imagined the guy had cotton stuck in his mouth and I wanted him to pull it out. lol. Oh well, it's all cute.

  • It's Joe Raposo singing it

  • It sounds like Droopy Dog singing. :D

  • does anyone remember the one of a girl taking her llama to a dentist?

  • Yes! I wish someone would post it!

"Me an' my llama, me an' my llama, goin' to the dentist today"

  • I so wish someone would post it too!!

  • what about that W - W - W wilhelmina, anyone has that?

  • I've always hated this, but i'm faving it anyway. :D

  • Doesn anyone have that Everybody Sleeps and Everybody Eats ditty? Also, the "I love Being a Pig" ? I'd love to see those!

  • I don't have the everybody eats/sleeps Raposo songs, but "Love being a pig" is already on youtube: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=s2BU1P2THgQ&search=love%20pig%20sesame%20street

  • @aliceXX ....The bit with I love being a pig is here....both original and remake.....I was watching it today.....though I just realise this response is waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay late...lol

  • I am giggling stupidly. (goes back to his nostalgia-hunt)

  • woohoo! love it

  • genius

sesame street today is really lacking in comparison to the 70s (man, that makes me sound like an old person LOL)

  • don't feel bad.. I'm in the same boat too ;)

  • ha-a-ha-a-ha-a took a bweff

    ...and still bweefing today

    love it :)

  • Good old Joe Raposo. Ya gotta love his songs for SS

  • Thanks TinyDancer, I thought that was Joe Raposo!

  • take a breff! weee haha love it!

  • Pretty funny. He sounds like he has a ping-pong ball in each cheek or something. :P

  • Since that one was Joe Raposo who sang that, anybody got Run, Run, Everybody Run and Touch Hold Feel? Those were Joe Raposo's songs, too.

  • That's Joe Raposo singing, BTW, a very talented writer/singer from the show who died too young (just like Jim Henson). Great video!

  • I loved this one :D

  • THey ruined this when they had Elmo sing it later.
