  • I went often in the 1950's -1970's...I took them for granted back then till they went away...I'd love to revist some now !

  • @ftjax Your old..

  • Anyone know what the song is called at the end of the video?

  • @innocuousaccount "Sleepwalk" by Santo & Johnny....

  • @ftjax Thanks!

  • wow.. I went to a drive-in when i was little and it was tight,, (maybe its my young imagination or wishful thinking) but it was in Sherwood Arkansas. It had 2 screens, but I think i can recall it having a carnival in it,, (i think i remember) a big ferris wheel. Either way, I think thats my next venture. Is to start a drive in theater with a stage in front of the screen, (so local artist of all music genres can perform on certain nights , before, between, & after movies) I think it would b nice!

  • I wish there were a drive-in movie theater near me, I'd love to go!

and 2 in Springfield Il right on old US 66. Its fun to look back at yesteryear.

  • There used to be a Drive Inn in Houston at 45 and West Road where there is now a Frys Electronics and The Dump furniture store. Back in the 1980's.

  • Went here on my birthday and had a blast!! I loved it! :)

  • An incredible piece of Americana....

  • Theatre

  • I noticed that the SHOWBOAT had someone telling people to park as close to the other cars as possible. Problem is some people won't. The CAPRI in Coldwater MI had the problem of turning away cars because people parked less than as suggested. They had removed the speaker poles years ago. They solved the problem by simply installing poles (no speakers) just a bit shorter than the old ones and spaced the width of most cars pkus a ew feet. Even if you wanted to hog spots there...you can't !

  • I love the Showboat Drive-in. It's great to bring the little one because they won't bother other viewers during the show. I love drive-in's and hope they make a full come back!

  • HAHA thats my granny
