I wish my Dane puppy were that calm when meeting horses. Mine goes out of his mind, whirling in circles and lowering his front end in play invitations. It amazes me that the horses are not more alarmed, they take it all in stride. I'm barely able to stay on my feet, at the other end of the leash, but all the critters have a fine time.
such a gentle soul, size comparison, a t rex being gentle with a horse or human....im touched...nature at its finest, once i made friends with a crow during snowfall...we were buds for 2 months then it went away, hand fed it, didnt know its sex but I called it thistle, like the seed.....but noticed nature does not lie, trust is everything

@Catdemondarkness You definitely miss out on a lot of fun and love... give it a chance! You'll just looooove Great Danes. And a Dane is master in curling up. I put mine PLUS our big labrador in our Citroen AX (biscuit-tin).
@Catdemondarkness We live in a small house, too (2 big dogs and 2 cats). I have to admit that our Dane resolved the 'space'-problem herself: our (king-size) bed is now HERS and we sleep on the couch. Well, okay, not exactly, but she does sleep in our bed.... not very comfy. BUT she makes up largely with her presence, her love, her affection. Move houses! :)
@stellabeumer does she try and lay ON you?? haha my big bro when I was about 16 had bought an english mastiff or something he was bigger then the german rottweilers his roomate had and he was only like 4 months old !! anyway he weighed more then me or something lol and he was as tall as me when he stood! (im 5'1 and then only weighed 110) he would sleep on my brothers bed with him and one night i slept there and he decided to "cuddle" on top of me!! lol
She just wanted to scratch behind the horseys ears. Loved it. I have a dane myself and would love to have an opportunity for him to do the same thing. Peaceful!

Those are very well trained horses and that is a very good great dane! My dane chases our horses across the pasture and then they turn around and chase him back, it just playing but they do it for hours!
it's good they get along because you can look after the horses and stables and not worry about her being in danger or being dangerous for the horses, so sweet how she was seeking protection in the darker one
Oh my goodness! What an amazing and unexpected video. Thanks for sharing it. All three of them are just absolutely beautiful! We have three horses and a Dane just about 8months old. Someday a hope to see this precious and amazing miracle happen on my farm. That would just complete the circle for me to see all of my babies so sweet and loving toward eachother. I love em all so much!
haha my dog is like this with my horses (she is a border collie) except the horse isnt as nice, they have already picked her up and thrown her with their teeth =P what she gets for buggin them all the time i guess
@motosikletto I really think it's what the dog thinks! I have a 6 months old great dane and she tries to play with my horse as he was a superbig horse! :)
Danes are very good with other animals..

There's barely enough room for the five of us, plus the dog and the cat.
No way is there enough room for a Great dane to be even reasonably comfortable.

Those are very well trained horses and that is a very good great dane! My dane chases our horses across the pasture and then they turn around and chase him back, it just playing but they do it for hours!

Those were really mellow horses, but a mellow dog like a Great Dane helps.
