@jimvortex Try listening to DARE - We Don't Need A Reason". Then say calling him a rock star is dubious. That's him on the keyboards. Long hair and all.
@theart1rm i will certainly check that out ..... whilst trying put out of my mind the labour party national anthem! hey look i actually think' your the best thing ' was a great track but i still think hes just a mouth piece for the scientific establishment feeding us a constant mix of truths, half truths and out right deception .... and i take exception to the fact that he misleads many people who after taking his word on a subject will not research any further!
@jimvortex That may be as you say, but I don't have the means to research what he is saying any further. If he is a mouth piece, then they have done a great job. He is probably the most carismatic scientist to hit the scene in a long time. He has people excited about the Universe and exploration. He's like a breath of fresh air in the scientific community. That in and of itself is reason enough to tune in to his presentations.
@theart1rm carisma can be a great thing unless its the carisma that decieves ..... what better way of recruiting the next generation of believers of our retarded scientific community may i recommend u take the time to find the means to research this , (its all at your fingertips ) if what prof cox teaches, u find exciting, then trust me that what u find beyond is alice down the rabbit hole and then some . question everything whilst keeping an open mind. its a crazy paradigm beyond the veil
@jimvortex Brian's carisma is their to get the next generation to believe in science, to get excited with science. He won't be teaching them. He's just stressing how important science is & how it will be needed & necessary to help this planet come to terms with the best resources to save it. How we must find cleaner resources than oil. If you listen to his talks. How he presents his date to adults is much different than what he present it to young. He encourages them to seek their own knowledge
@jimvortex Also I don't take everything Brain says is as gospel. He doesn't have all the answers, neither do his collegues. But I find watching the documentaries like "Wonders of the Universe" highly enertaining. Much more so that Reality TV, Silly romance/bromance movies/shows. I can honestly (proudly say) I have never watched any. I like Science fiction, I like different things like my favorite movie "The Secret of Moonacre", Lord of the Rings, Sanctuary, Harry Potter, Stargate SG-1, Babalon
@theart1rm the crazt thing is that all the films you mentioned make reference to much of the secret stuff that the genral public are not privvy to ...i have just recently come across a researcher called Jay Weidner who , very meticulously documented the films of Stanley Kubric and their coded messages , these include classics like the Shining , 2001 a space odessey ,a clockwork orange and eyes wide shut etc . when this stuff is made clear it is mind blowing , exciting and liberating.............
This experiment is just about the most important we have ever done as species. We should all be proud and interested and give piles of money for this.
I love how he takes the time out to talk to regular people and answer all their questions. Hes so enthusiastic about science and clearly loves what he does. Hes my hero .
yeh i had never seen the dude only heard him on radio and the other day saw him on jonathan ross and couldnt believe hes 42 or something. wow, i wish my tutors at uni were that cute! hahaha
I bet he was that smart when he was 21 !..... as for me, I doubt that I'd be that smart if I lived to be 140 ! But he has such an enthusiasm and a way of explaining things that I always come away FEELING smarter ;-)
@sarahnewt amazingly, prof cox wasnt a massive genius at 21, he took 5 years out after his a levels to be in a rock band, then went onto university to get this degrees. Id like to think I could go travelling for a few years, come back and study and in a few years be a fraction as smart as he is :)
Just be mine! OMG that man is drop dead gorgeous xxxxxxxxxxxxxx

@theart1rm i think we can both agree that the soaps also fit into that box of mind numbing garbage ; )
jimvortex 7 months ago
@jimvortex Oh yeah the soaps are so drawn out that it takes them a month to show what could be shown in a few episodes.
