You should've seen when there was no bridge between Ayamonte and Vila Real. That meant more than 400 cars every weekend in summer waiting for the ferries that crossed the river.Of course, the ferries were loaded with many more cars, but still it proved insufficient for such an amount of people.Nice times ;-)
Yeah, very true. There were more than 200 cars waiting to take the ferry to Portugal. Knowing that there is only one ferry every half an hour on which only 4 cars are allowed, you can image the chaos! That was actually quite funny...
A truck, coming from the ports of Huelva was crossing the bridge, direction Faro Airport. The truck was loaded with 34.000 litres of kerosine (!), extremely flammable stuff ofcourse. A car driving slowly in front of the truck was overseen by the driver (this is the story I have heard) and at the very last moment the truckdriver had to pull the wheel to avoid a collapse. ( 2 >>> )
2 >>>> ..) This caused him to crash into the side barriers of the bridge, where he exploded immediately and fell down next to the river Guadiana. The inferno lasted for hours. This was a tragic moment, since the truckdriver lost his life instantly ...
I like the footage, but the music seems a bit out of place.
