  • "Find em. Chase em. Sink em."

    I love the US Navy

  • Good old Victory At Sea. I watched the series "premier" when I was a kid. My dad fought in the Pacific. Those WWII Submariners were my heros, and my motivation to enlist and after Nuclear Power School ride the boats. It was my honor to serve with the last of the active duty WWII Subvets.

As far as WWII fish, no, they were not guided after they were fired; they had a course & depth "dialed in" an that was it.

  • 0:24 Thats Slade Cutter, doing what he did best.

  • There wasn't a lot of sub on sub action, it was more a sub ambusing a sub. One US sub, I think the Batfish ambused and sunk three Jap subs. Subs ran on the surface just like ships and many were sunk my other subs submerged.

  • how much sub against sub battles took place

  • Excellent archive find... hats off to you, hawaiicop!

  • could the torpedoes be guided after being launched or were they just launched after calculating bearing and speed of the target ship?

  • @Camporossiano Just calculated on bearing and speed

  • Do you have access to the TV Show "The Silent Service"

  • Been watching Sub movies since I was a kid & this is the best I've ever seen posted on U-Tube! Thank you so very much for sharing this with the World! Barry in PA.
