  • @XxFightinDirtyxX yea thats what i was thinking why did he put -4 doesnt make sense its suppose to be postive but the 1-4 is correct

  • My final exam is in 9 hours, thank god for this dude.

  • @XxFightinDirtyxX

    yeah i think ur right

  • dean pelton

  • @greengreen1227 Yep, if you start with just x^2, then it usually has an a value of 1.

  • wait so was a just equal to 1?

  • He said "walla." It voila! There's a V!!! Sorry, it's just always bothered me when people say that

  • isnt the completed square form of that equation (x+2)squared plus 3???

  • the EASIEST method A PERSON EVER TOLD ME

  • what do you do if the middle can't be split in half? ex: if the number was 7x

  • THANK YOU!

  • Just in case anyone is confused, he made 1 small error. the third line should read (x^2 +4x + 4) + 1 - 4...... Despite this error, the remaining calculations are correct

  • @greasy220 Well, to be fair, he actually did write a + sign. It's just not as visible as you'd want it to be.

  • you saved my ass from failing....lol

  • OMG I love this!!! My teacher makes it so fucking complicated I want to weep, but this, this is very doable!! Thanks!

  • Same as what my instructors and I just needed to see it a million times. THANK YOU MINDBITES DUDE!

  • wow thank you!

  • Chrispirillo of Maths! I love it!

  • i love you *_*

  • Prodigious!!!

  • hes like she shamwow man of math

  • great but wtf with the intro

  • And futhermore, some people can't just google and expect the answer to pop up like that. I know people that are struggling with basic fractions so again the teacher and or tutor plays a huge part in helping the student. My method is to always show the fastest way to solving a problem period~~ !!

  • Wow that's a creepy intro

  • THANK YOU SO MUCH!!!!!! :D

  • Oh god saved my life

  • Your videos are always great, and so helpful.

  • If you guys LISTENED to what we saying, hes saying "+ 4" not "- 4" and although it looks like a "- 4" on the video, it does say "+ 4" if you look close enough you'll see, especially if you what him write it, you'll see him faintly making a vertical bar then crossing it darkly/boldly so you can barely see it, but that is a PLUS/ADDITION sign to everyone whose wondering...... Although a very hard to read one

  • wait..wouldnt it be (x-2) ^2? not (x+2)^2??

  • @TheIceiing doesn't matter, any negative squared is a positive. You actually have to make it a negative but i forgot why

  • duuude! this totally helped me!:D thank you SO much!

  • >_< thank you dude

  • They way I am being taught this is like 10x more complicated than what you're doing. However, this video still confused me. I'm not sure how to use this =/

  • Thank you. Thank you. Thank you.

GAH! 2.5 minutes I could have spent learning this rather than trying to decipher my teacher's quick notes and the book on precalc.

  • sooo wat happened to the 4x?? O_O

  • @animeghostgirl7 (x+2)^2 = (x+2)(x+2) = (x^2+4x+4), by distribution you can see that.

  • @zzzIdividedbyzerozzz oooh thnx i got confuse for a moment there ;D

  • but how do i time the hands in the slowdown?

  • i thought it suppose to be x²+4x+4+1-4 on the completing the square i think you should redo the math

  • i just watched this vid and realized how stupid my teacher is

  • WTF I did this completely different. My teacher is a fat lazy bitch, who seems not to care about our learning. I don't even know how to do this.

  • WTF....talk about how you factored.

  • thank you for saving my night, i was told to find the vertex of a parabola algebraically for regents practice, my teacher never taught it i think. i look it up, and thank you, other guides r too complicated.

  • this 2.5 minute video explained more then 2.5 weeks of math class did in a wayyyy simpler way.

    thank you thank you!!!

  • :D I FCKING LOVE YOU

  • did anyone notice he put the wrong sign at the first 4.....how is 2^2 = -4 just thought i should note that in case anyone took some wrong notes

  • @lazyboylba yeah...i noticed it also...

  • @lazyboylba naah his marker just isn't clear enough.. if you watch his strokes and look carefully at the sign you will see its a plus sign!

  • u didnt put how to find axis of symmetry or vertex form but still love it

  • He said that he would add and then subtract 4 but according to what he wrote he subtracted it twice!

  • I have an exam tomorrow, thanks for saving my ass. :D

  • I wonder why most text books and teachers show students the longer more complicated way. This way is more organized and quick. Way better than what my instructor is trying to drill in our heads.

  • Because , instructors aren't really specifically "good at math" when I say that I mean they may know math themselves but they don't know how to explain it to others very well. Sometimes my instructor completely does something I don't get and I come on youtube to find a very simple and quick method to the solution. Go figure...

  • I agree 100%

  • @KDALove Dude, my math grade DEPENDS on YouTube.

  • @TheBayViewer ME & YOURS BOTH!!!!

  • @mzgemini0006 and idk why we have to pay for this when we have the book...this is lame they should make these videos free :-/

  • @captainchris12 Mindbites does not create the videos, we simply are the channel which connects the creators to the population. Visit out site, the videos are extremely helpful. Choose a lesson you are learning in your present class but struggling with, try a lesson out through Mindbites and see if you are satisfied. If not, it is a minute loss, but I guarantee that the Mindbites lesson will help.

  • @Mindbitesdotcom i had a heart attack when i saw what you guys had on there. <3 thanks...hope itll help in the future

  • @mzgemini0006 depends on what you want in life.

  • @AnubisEye009 Well what i want is a more efficient way of learning... my point is that everyone is not good at math and some people are naturally into it... so the instructor should have tricks on how to learn without being so confusing....

  • @mzgemini0006 It's up to the individual to find all these little tricks, not to mention, you could just ask your teacher, and just look on google. And, from what I said before, it depends on what sort of career you plan to choose. I'm curious though, what have you found from your search of a more "efficient" way of learning? Do you know how you learn?

  • @AnubisEye009 Fyi I'm going for my bachelors in business so math isn't hard to for I just like for someone to give a more clear explanation.... Shortly after this video I met with a instructor at my college and he agreed with me some of this teachers have been doing this for years so they know serveral ways of getting the answer. The majority of people hate math and I believe its straight forward. But to each its own now I'm tutoring the lower level and my goal is to make it as easy as possible.

  • @mzgemini0006 Good for you. However, for those going into the sciences, it is very important to understand the concepts in depth and how they relate to the world and the universe. Your approach is more suited for business majors and for those that want the practical usage of math as they relate to their lifestyles. However, if you were to teach someone who is wanting to study the universe, I think you would be doing more harm to those specific people than good.

  • Comment removed

  • @mzgemini0006 usually the stuff that they try to drill in your heads will make sense later in higher maths like Calc. or Trig.

  • You saved my ass. Thank you.

  • thank you so much.

  • way better then my teacher

  • THAN my teacher.

  • After watching this guy a few times, I've come to the conclusion that he is a brilliant teacher. Well explained! Thank you!

  • why did they cut him off midway??

seriously dude your the best teacher ever, although i dont like how you do your complete the square. I was taught to put brackets in first (and half the b value) then square that and take away.. its the same obviously just looks neater

    THANKS FOR THIS!
