Just in case anyone is confused, he made 1 small error. the third line should read (x^2 +4x + 4) + 1 - 4...... Despite this error, the remaining calculations are correct
And futhermore, some people can't just google and expect the answer to pop up like that. I know people that are struggling with basic fractions so again the teacher and or tutor plays a huge part in helping the student. My method is to always show the fastest way to solving a problem period~~ !!
If you guys LISTENED to what we saying, hes saying "+ 4" not "- 4" and although it looks like a "- 4" on the video, it does say "+ 4" if you look close enough you'll see, especially if you what him write it, you'll see him faintly making a vertical bar then crossing it darkly/boldly so you can barely see it, but that is a PLUS/ADDITION sign to everyone whose wondering...... Although a very hard to read one
They way I am being taught this is like 10x more complicated than what you're doing. However, this video still confused me. I'm not sure how to use this =/
thank you for saving my night, i was told to find the vertex of a parabola algebraically for regents practice, my teacher never taught it i think. i look it up, and thank you, other guides r too complicated.
I wonder why most text books and teachers show students the longer more complicated way. This way is more organized and quick. Way better than what my instructor is trying to drill in our heads.
Because , instructors aren't really specifically "good at math" when I say that I mean they may know math themselves but they don't know how to explain it to others very well. Sometimes my instructor completely does something I don't get and I come on youtube to find a very simple and quick method to the solution. Go figure...
@captainchris12 Mindbites does not create the videos, we simply are the channel which connects the creators to the population. Visit out site, the videos are extremely helpful. Choose a lesson you are learning in your present class but struggling with, try a lesson out through Mindbites and see if you are satisfied. If not, it is a minute loss, but I guarantee that the Mindbites lesson will help.
@AnubisEye009 Well what i want is a more efficient way of learning... my point is that everyone is not good at math and some people are naturally into it... so the instructor should have tricks on how to learn without being so confusing....
@mzgemini0006 It's up to the individual to find all these little tricks, not to mention, you could just ask your teacher, and just look on google. And, from what I said before, it depends on what sort of career you plan to choose. I'm curious though, what have you found from your search of a more "efficient" way of learning? Do you know how you learn?
@AnubisEye009 Fyi I'm going for my bachelors in business so math isn't hard to for I just like for someone to give a more clear explanation.... Shortly after this video I met with a instructor at my college and he agreed with me some of this teachers have been doing this for years so they know serveral ways of getting the answer. The majority of people hate math and I believe its straight forward. But to each its own now I'm tutoring the lower level and my goal is to make it as easy as possible.
@mzgemini0006 Good for you. However, for those going into the sciences, it is very important to understand the concepts in depth and how they relate to the world and the universe. Your approach is more suited for business majors and for those that want the practical usage of math as they relate to their lifestyles. However, if you were to teach someone who is wanting to study the universe, I think you would be doing more harm to those specific people than good.
seriously dude your the best teacher ever, although i dont like how you do your complete the square. I was taught to put brackets in first (and half the b value) then square that and take away.. its the same obviously just looks neater
@XxFightinDirtyxX yea thats what i was thinking why did he put -4 doesnt make sense its suppose to be postive but the 1-4 is correct
