  • I had hernia surgery without the mesh in Wisconsin. Sounds like he needed to do more research. The procedure that my surgon used was a Canadian method that is about 50 years old.

  • Yes, you are right. The surgeon probably operated on you with a Bassini or Shouldice operation. High level muscles are pulled down to suture to the inguinal ligament to fill up the gap from where hernia formation takes place. These sutures and sutured muscles are under tension therefore it is called as a 'Tension Repair'.
