Four common sense reasons why I think there is no god; A) Total absence from the natural world. No sign of a god, before, during or after, natural disastres B) The absolute absence of favoritism towards believers. Even chruches need lightning-rods to protect them from god. C) The absence of any reaction, when crimes are committed in his name. D) The suffering of the innocent. One could accept that the guilty must suffer, but children ???
@tallliza God loves us enough to give us free will and a choice. We brought these horrible sins into the world and God will not go where He is not wanted. We must call on His name so that His awesome power can work in our lives. Yes, horrible, horrible, things happen and it breaks our hearts when we hear of them. But our feeble hearts cannot even compare to how much it breaks the heart of God.
@tallliza Yes, natural disasters happen, but God works everything for the good of those who trust in Him. But that's just it, we have to ask Him for help, He won't barge in and fix everything. We have to want Him to. and about your point about crimes committed in His name. People do commit crimes in His name but that doesn't mean that He was backing that up or endorsing that. Those people are misguided and do not understand that we can't do anything to fully help ourselves. Only God can save us
@tallliza after saying all that, I didn't mean for it to sound like a rant or anything. I only meant to show a little bit of God's heart the best I could. But the age old question "why do bad things happen to good people" is a very debated question among people. While it is very difficult to lovingly explain and hard to accept, God gave us the free will and choice to choose Him and invite Him into our lives. He will not go where He is not wanted and He will not barge in where He is not welcome.
@MyFatherLoves There might be a god, but a loving, caring, compassionate, JUST, god is excluded. The facts on earth contradict such a notion. No LOVING, JUST, person would allow the INNOCENT to suffer.
@tallliza He sent His son for that very reason. To save us... We have to choose to want Him and to believe that He died for us. Personally, I'm glad that He's not fair. If He was fair, He wouldn't have sent His son to die for us. He would've just let us wallow in our own pain and suffering..sin... Jesus saves all of those who know who He is, believe in Him, and trust in Him. He is the only way, He is our only hope.
@tallliza Also, if you would like a few songs to listen to, here's a couple of great ones
God of Justice-Tim Hughes
I will Exalt-Bethel
What would have I done-Bethel
These songs really speak a lot of Grace with Truth mixed with it. Songs are my biggest connection with Him. He gifted me with talent in the area of music so I get the most fulfillment from Him (besides prayer) through that medium than with anything else. I would love for you to give Him a chance. He won't fail you #myexperience
@MyFatherLoves What makes you think, I was not like you at one point in my life. I have been there. I know. An imaginary lover, who never shows up, can only satisfy for so long. Something to ponder... One of the last prayers of Mother Theresa... God., IF YOU EXIST, have mercy on me ... That says it all.
@tallliza Sorry, I meant no disrespect to you. But what Mother Theresa said is a very human thing to say. One of the last things Jesus said while He was on the cross was "My God my God, why have you forsaken me?". The truth was that God was there with His son in that moment but Jesus was a human as well. He was beaten and ripped beyond recognition and on top of that was every sin that anyone would ever commit fell on Him in that moment. He couldn't feel His Father anymore with all of that on Him
@tallliza That interests me, could you send me the link for the quote? I can't seem to find it. (no sarcasm or meaness intended, I really am curious) I did however find one of her last prayers while looking for the quote. If you're interested, go to Google and type in "Last prayer of Mother Theresa". Go to the third link entitled "Spirit Bytes: A Last Prayer Mother Theresa". She describes Jesus beautifully in this prayer
@MyFatherLoves I could not find the exact text YET .At the end of her life Mother Teresa expressed profound doubt about the existence of God according to a new collection of her letters. Apparently Mother Teresa wrestled with these questions. They led her to ask if the charitable work she was known for was hypocritical. "What do I labor for?" she asked in one letter. "If there be no God, there can be no soul. If there be no soul then, Jesus, You also are not true."
@tallliza yes, I found it. During the latter parts of her life, she expressed doubt and that happens to every believer and non-believer alike. Some are more severe than others, such as her's. It's a very human thing to feel but just because she expressed doubt doesn't mean that she lost her faith. Even King David in the Psalms screamed and yelled at God because he felt like God wasn't there. But a few pages later you can see David write some of the most beautiful things ever about God.
@tallliza Doubt and even extreme doubt is a very human emotion. I doubted to when I couldn't get out of my addiction and felt no response as I prayed for Him to take it away. But I decided to continue praying for Him to take it away anyway. I wanted to see if He was really real. After a few months of praying and being depressed, He showed up big time. God wants to see consistancy just like we do in any relationship and I believe that Mother Theresa showed the biggest act of faith by continuing.
@tallliza and that is a very viable method of getting out. Nothing wrong with that at all. I still take medication for the disease that I have (Cystic Fibrosis). I know that God has healed my symptoms and my medical records can attest to that. I go in for a check up every 3 months and it comes back the same every time. Perfectly healthy.
@tallliza But I take my medicine anyway as my way of saying "God, here is my act of faith that you will keep me healthy and allow me to live to be a father one day and to do something great for You." But my point is that with Him, you now have a constant companion who cares so much for you and loves you with everything He has. All He wants is a relationship with you. That's it, there's no "religion" to get in the way, He just wants you. No rules, no "thou shalt nots" or anything. Just you
@tallliza I don't want you to feel like I'm trying to make you believe anything. That's not the kind of business that I agree with and most of the time it puts a lot of pressure on. I simply just want to show you a side of God that has maybe never been shown to you before. It's completely up to you what choice you make whenever you make it. Whichever choice you make, I'll still respect you and I won't think any less of you.
@tallliza if you think you might want to try Him again, direct message me with your city/state and I should be able to find a very life-giving church for you. Because we can't do it alone and we need friends to back us up. you know? My church is apart of a large community of non-denominational church around the world and I can assure you that there's never any condemnation or bible-thumping. It's all life giving and everyone is very nice and welcoming.
@tallliza Hey, I'm gonna be heading out for lunch here in about 30min which will be 12pm central time. I'll check back here if you've replied back. Also, I want you to know that right now, I don't feel high and mighty or whatever.. I'm right here along with you. I'm still learning and we have so much to learn and probably will never stop learning about Him. That's one awesome thing about Him :) He constantly shows us more and more of Himself and we'll never get enough :) We'll always want more
Greetings! in the name of the Lord Jesus who is God most High.
This is a beautiful song! And I advise you all not to criticize this brother that sings this song too harshly considering that we ourselves are deserving of punishment.
Remember that when we attempt to judge others!
May the God of all grace continue to shew forth mercy, grace, and love upon you all. in the name of Jesus Christ. Amen.
REALLY? Pause....NOT - we all know that, that's who people are saying 'Keep going Michael' to. The point is we all screw up, his mistake just happened to make international news! i pray that the Lord uses Him more greatly than ever - His word never changes, and he still has "great and unsearchable things that you do not know" in store for all of us who make HUGE mistakes.
@vivwatts911 that's completely true :) some of the strongest men in the bible also comitted some of the most atrotious (however that's spelt :) acts and God used them to be a few of the most influential people in the bible. Paul, Moses, David.. etc...
God Truly loves you Michael, just keep believing in him. he is the one that forgive, we are all sinners and we do make mistake. i still love you in the name of our saviour. be bless and may the Holy spirit keep you and El Shaddai the almighty God be your strength.
Michael, out failure comes experience, do not frown or let this mistake bring you down, for all of us, deserve a new chance, to improve and be better. I Hope that we people know what forgiveness means, and that you continue succeeding in your carier. God Bless You!I love this songs! its so touching, and so truee!! :D
God loves you mike. I know from the bottom of my heart, God will heal you. As His promise, whoever knock on His door, He will Himself open the door for you. You knock on His door and I know for sure He will open the door for you. If Jesus, The God, forgives you, who are we judging you? You've blessed so many people in this world with your song that's full with Gods annointing. Keep up the good work. God Bless You. Always!
