Courtney: 62% of Americans, including many military generals, agree this occupation was a tragic blunder. War-profiteering fact: The mainstream media (MSM) are owned by powerful corps. like GE, who have direct investments in the defense industry; war increases the value of their holdings. This collusion is widespread, and MSM were cheerleaders for invading Iraq, when there was no proven connection there with perpetrators of 9/11. FACT: Bush planned to invade before 9/11; it's documented.
The beauty of the internet is you can make any allegation or forward any conspiracy with total anonyminty or evidence tosupport your claim. I ask you to site any actual case of an American's civil rights being violated through the patriot act, any soldier to die from tainted water or food supplied by halliburton, or any violation of the vastly left wing press right to propagate. War profiteering is a talking point catch phase from movement that dates back to the last generation of failures.
I agree with you, Goldbuckles. You must have seen "Iraq For Sale." The gap between CourtneyWBradley and myself (see below) is due to difference in media exposure. Our military filters what the service persons are allowed to hear. Courtney has been serving over in Iraq, but she's not aware that Halliburton is using her and us (the taxpayers) for their own profits. We need to free our media (the Right to Free Press is our constitutional right!) and end war-profiteering once & for all! Obama '08.
You claim, as most out of touch elitist do, the military filters what those of us in the military have access to. How could that happen, do they edit the internet, block my cable box, white out my newspaper, or stop me from reading. If you said yes to any of these you must be so insulated that you couldn't be exposed to any information that would make you question the idealogy that you cling to.

Courtney: In all due respect for honorable service to our nation, how can you tell the difference between Iraqis and non-Iraqi "insurgents?" We know over 1/2-million innocent Iraqi CIVILIANS have been killed. I don't think you get unbiased info over there; Rush Limbaugh is not. Halliburton & Blackwater exploit with high prices; they are not as benevolent as you portray them. And WE taxpayers pay the bill. So plz stop insulting me, as I happen to be a concerned citizen and taxpayer.
First of we know, according to the UN, no friend of the US, approx. 85,000 people total have been killed in Iraq. If you believe they were all innocent your stuck on stupid. Second if you base your opinions on ANY political commentator, your a lemming. Third, the only time halliburton was out bidded by another company was in 1996 and mr. clinton awarded the contract to halliburton. If I insulted you by pointing out that false facts are a LIE, you were knowingly lying for idealogical reasons.
Courtney: 1) Les Roberts, Ph.D, an Johns Hopkins epidemiologist, became prominent for his well-documented study in Oct '06 concluding 654,965 Iraqi deaths have occurred since 2003. Bush dismissed it, without explaining why. However, numerous statisticians supported it. Roberts is NOT a political commentator. 2) Halliburton is guilty of grossly overcharging for many services and products, according to testimonials by people in the service like yourself. Why do you defend them?
you tell them!!....when they send a truck over to Iraq....they do not even send "tires" if they get a flat. They just destroy the vehicle when it "needs" anything. They do not even have oil filters....when the engine blows.....they destroy it. Some smart people we have in control of our country!
I dont expect an actual response based on the information posted, bogus death tolls, false finacial totals, and propagandist rhetoric doesn't make your point valid. The idiot who said the insurgents were fighting for their homeland needs to know the insurgents are from other countries, the people fighting for their homeland are Iraqi military( their fighting beside us). Before you make claims you hear on jon stewart,do some research or at least open a dictionary so you dont look like a total ass
Our war spending is less than %2 of our(gdp) gross domestic product, and funding requires democrats doubling the size of the bill through earmarks. Halliburton provides food and supplies to keep us alive, blackwater is contracted to keep U.S. soldiers from escorting non-American dignitaries(at their expense). Several free elections, without phoney super delegates, and an %80 percent drop in violence. We are winning, we cant afford not to win, and some cities here need U.S. occupation as well.
Wake up.........Halliburton is killing our troops. There is so much bacteria in the water the troops are using that some will come home with all sort of bacterial problems. Men wanting to wash their own clothing have been told they are not allowed to do that. The laundry comes back scrundgy and some of the troops want to do their own. Halliburton gets $99.00 a bag for doing the laundry.
I know its hard to conceive, but today marks 4000 American soldiers death in Iraq, and I look forward to my return next month. After two tours I have seen more progress there than 32 years of criminal control over St.Louis,MO. When I was a kid we sent an incompetent generation to fight this war, and they failed. If my generation fails, my children will have to return to face a more difficult fight that all could have been prevented if anyone from the carter administration on weren't pussies.
Your children will be enslaved. They will not have the opportunity you have had in the past. Soon, you will be telling your children how it "used to be in America". The Trans Texas Corridor will be in effect soon and Canada - Mexico - and the United States of America will be combined. We have lost our sovereighty and we lost habeas corpus - all of our freedoms do no longer exist because of Bush's PATRIOT ACT.
If you support the war you support stupid killing. I'm not saying I agree with anything the terrorists are doing, but going over there and killing everyone wasn't the best thing to do ether.(Duh)
It's oversimplifying things to think we even have the capability to "finish the job" in Iraq, as MFrank and 1jsummer suggested below. Bush has already borrowed over $3 trillion and is leaving office with the most enormous deficit in US history that we'll be paying back for generations. So 1)We can't afford to stay. And 2)The "insurgents" are just defending their lands and will continue to do so. Why shouldn't they? Wouldn't you if some foreign army occupied YOUR land? This is not "winnable."
chpaladin is right our larger cities have more deaths from gun violence in a year than the iraq war has had in 5 years. Finish the job so we don't have to go back into in even bloodier fight in the future. Plus we have a great chance to make the country of Iraq promising. A free Iraq would be the perfect balance between Sunni's & Shiites and could end major conflicts in the mid east because of the balance of this one country.
I think we should stay there and finish the job. and mixture Germany is in Iraq too. and ytube28341 plenty of ppl have came back from this war. So if u dont know what ur talking bout plz dont say anything
Our real enemies are the war-profiteers like Halliburton and Blackwater. THEY OPPRESS US ALL: those against the war, those for it, and especially the American casualties, dead or maimed, & Iraqi civilians, dead, injured or displaced (4 million refugees). Bush made us poorer while these corporations got richer. The gov't is supposed to represent the majority, not the top 1%, the rich CEOs. We are in another "Gilded Age." The people at the top WANT us to be divided so we can't overcome them.
WAR? Against who? Terrorists are in Saudi Arabia,go fight there.War against terrorism? where were you at the time of Rwanda? Its all for oil.The only ministry that was protected 5 years ago was the ministry of oil while the national museum was robbed in front of the eyes of the Americans
How can bush justify this war? Does he and his family has any benefit?
You want to live in Peace the do not believe Bush and forget the oil of others and may God bless your America at that time.

The war in Iraq is totally fake they got Saddam so why are they still there? Wait I forgot they need the oil :D. This is the true reason of this useless war. People are dying only because of the interests of higher auhtorities.
You know people get killed even when the United States is not fighting. That death toll for Iraq's people probably includes the people who were trying to kill American Solders too.
I agree that we do need to finish the job. Leaving right now would be a huge insult to the people who died and their families. Things will go back to the way they were eventually and the soldiers sacrifices will be for nothing. Im tired of this crap
i agree with u Jen, it would be nice for there to be such a ruler. but ppl just need to face reality and realize that the world is full of evil and there will always be violence such as this.
That makes no sense. there will never be a ruler that is kind or loving. They are all crooked and there will always be war u just cant stop that. By protesting the war u are in some perspective insulting our men and women who have fought and died in this war.
What if we all lived under one ruler?(Everyone in the entire world.) A ruler that's kind, loveing, just, and knew everything?(a perfect ruler) There would be no more wars and our ruler would always know the perfect thing to do. Don't get the wrong idea, I mean we're all inperfect so none of us could be it. Wouldn't it be nice?
There will always be a rebellion no matter what because the human race is full of evil. MFrank is right in that there will always be war...but protesting such a vile act isn't disrespectful at all. It's usually the kind hearted that don't want to see anyone else dying..I guess no one understands that anymore. People will always disagree with one another. Including my post and your post. But yes, it would be nice if there was such a great person out there in such an important position.
how can you watch this suffering and dying (on both sides) and still justify this war?.I pity all those people who have died in this conflict and can only hope that it will stop soon!! What is there to win???? I hope for all of us that they find a solution soon! "There is no such thing as a winable war....."/(Sting).
I'm not going to post my opinion any real way, but I will say that so long as my peers and Marines have spent their blood, sweat, and tears fighting for each other and the AO they operate in there is no way I am going to just turn around and discount all of that. I, and many of my counterparts agree, that we won't stand by while there are enemies out there who have killed our own. We fight, that is what we do whether people always like it or not.
That makes no sense; you fight for the sake of fighting? No one is asking you to discount the effort you and your comrades have put in for the people of Iraq. Your bravery should be recognised for the heroism it constitutes. But this war was started for the wrong reasons. Lives and tax dollars are still being spent for those same reasons. It has to end.
In my oppinion, this is really true and really sad. But when I think something like WW2 what happened only about 50years ago, there died so many ppl that wars like Iraq are nothing against that. Of course this is really frustrating and stupid war, what should end, like every other wars including civil wars and terrorist attacks.
People need to open their eyes! We are on the brink of a second depression! the stock market keeps dropping, employees are being laid off, and there doesn't seem to be an end to this war. plus, if John McCain gets elected, he's already said he'll send MORE troops to Iraq! We need to stop this war! It's causing nothing but pain for everyone!
As far as some powerful people can make profit or still expect to make profit from this war, the war will not end.-- It is a gamble. Spend more and more for expecting to get it back. It may need another 2000 US soldier to die and another 400 billions to be spent and those gamblers will give up.
Hey "libsaretraitors" - How much are you paid by the Right Wing to post all your liberal-hating comments here? Since you seem to be bothered by all the price tags attached to Gitmo, how come you don't mind the $3 Trillion Bush borrowed, mostly from the Chinese for this war? Do you think that's a responsible way to handle money? It devalued the dollar and so it's connected to our own downturn in the economy. How come this is all OK with you? McCain will cost you tons: 100 years of war!
There seems to be an obsessive-compulsive person who has posted over 20 comments in the past hour. This commenter says we "took Iraq in less time than..." Huh? We "took" Iraq -? Do we own it now? Do we control it now? Or are we just bringing to Iraq: death, destruction, and depleted uranium (which will cause millions of children there to get cancer)? We haven't "taken" Iraq; we've been "breakin'" Iraq!
Our real enemies are the war-profiteers like Halliburton and Blackwater. They oppress us ALL: those against the war, for it, American casualties & Iraqi civilians - dead, injured or refugees (4 million). Cheney and Bush have allowed America to become poorer while the corporations who support them are getting richer. The gov't is supposed to represent the well-being of We, The People, not the top 1% rich CEOs. We are in another "Gilded Age." Obama '08!
RECAP OF CLINTONS 8 YEARS 8 years of illegal fundraising from the White House. 8 years of a dot-com stock bubble. 8 years of a growing Al Qaida. 8 years of military & intelligence cuts. 8 years of increasing prison populations. 8 years of pacifying/bribing N. Korea. 8 years of screwing around with Saddam. 8 years of giving nuclear secrets to China. 8 years of corporate accounting lies. 8 years of campaign contributions from convicted criminals. 8 years of phantom surpluses.
Liberals have enormous compassion for terrorists and criminals, but little for their victims. All individual freedoms demand the responsible behavior of the individual, and therefore demand a moral code. Liberals despise freedom because they despise morality.
The liberal despises national sovereignty which protects individual freedoms.
The liberal promotes international governments (UN, EU, etc.) which seek to destroy individualism protected by sovereign states.
The U.S. Constitution - specifically the individualistic Bill of Rights - is the enemy of the liberal. The liberal despises the United States because it is the premier promoter of individualism in the world. All institutions and concerns - schools, environment, courts, etc. - serve no relevant purpose other than the promotion of collectivism.
Liberals traffic in shouting and demagogy. In a public setting, they will work themselves into a dervish-like trance and start incanting inanities: "Bush lied, kids died!" "racist!" "fascist!" "fire Rumsfeld!" "Halliburton!"
In the five years Bush has: LIBERATED 21 Million Afghans LIBERATED 27 Million Iraqis Democratically elected government in each Crushed the Taliban Crippled al-Qaida Got Libya to hand over WMD's without a shot people. Syria withdraws from Lebanon after 29 years UAE & Pakistan now allies in war on terror Saddam put to death Kalid Sheik Muhammed, mastermind of 9/11 waiting in Gitmo with 4040 other Alqaeda Saddams sons killed Zarqawi dead 4000 dead Alqaeda in Iraq
The liberal's only method of debate is to insult and discredit anyone who dares to disagree. When possible, liberals oppress anyone who questions their beliefs. The liberal seeks to criminalize any speech which promotes morality or individualism as "hate speech". The liberal fears any hint of individualism in any part of the world, and is obsessed with the centralized control of all human activity and thought.
• Some 5,000 dental operations (including teeth cleanings) and 5,000 vaccinations on a total of 550 detainees have been performed since 2002 - all at taxpayer expense. Eyeglasses? 174 pairs handed out. Twenty two detainees have taxpayer-paid prosthetic limbs.
• Food is strictly halal and averages 4,200 calories per day. (The guards eat the same chow as the detainees, unless they venture to one of the on-base fast-food joints.) Most prisoners have gained weight.
"We are in possession of what I think to be compelling evidence that Saddam Hussein has, and has had for a number of years, a developing capacity for the production and storage of weapons of mass destruction. ...without question, we need to disarm Saddam Hussein. He is a brutal, murderous dictator, leading an oppressive regime ... So the threat of Saddam Hussein with weapons of mass destruction is real ... " SENATOR JOHN F KERRY (D, MA), Jan. 23. 2003.
libsaretraitors, thank you for the "special" interest you have taken in my videos. it is much appreciated. the more views and comments, the better it is to my videos. you are definitely helping with that.
To "libsaretraitors:" Where do they live --the "57 million Bush has liberated?" And where do you get your news -- FOX propaganda? Don't you know that Bush's war killed about one million Iraqi civilians (or more), and caused 4 million Iraqi refugees? That's not liberation!!
Please cite your source on the civilian death count. You can't just say that everyone who died in Iraq between 2003 and today died as a result of the war. And while I concede that the initial invasion force was much too small (which caused the political unrest), the surge is working. BTW, you don't even watch Fox News, do you? Just because it doesn't slant toward the left like MSNBC or CNN, doesn't mean that it's "right wing propaganda".
If you can somehow force a liberal into a point-counterpoint argument, his retorts will bear no relation to what you said — unless you were, in fact, talking about your looks, your age, your weight, your personal obsessions, or whether you are a fascist. In the famous liberal two-step, they leap from one idiotic point to the next, so you can never nail them. It's like arguing with someone with Attention Deficit Disorder
Liberals speak often of tolerance, but only tolerate liberals. Liberals howl if a transvestite or convicted felon is even slightly offended, but openly bash Christians. Any religious person who believes or promotes moral consequence is the enemy of the liberal and must be oppressed. Despite decades of spectacular failure, the liberal clings to the collectivist dream because it is far more than a theory of government. It is a religion.
In the five years since terrorists attacked US President Bush has liberated 57 Million in TWO countries, crushed the Taliban, crippled al- Qaida, put nuclear inspectors in Libya without firing a shot, got Syria to leave Lebanon after 29yrs occupation, captured Saddam, killed his sons, killed Zarqawi, and has Osama cowering in the mountains after Clinton let him go free.
"As a member of the House Intelligence Committee, I am keenly aware that the proliferation of chemical and biological weapons is an issue of grave importance to all nations. Saddam Hussein has been engaged in the development of weapons of mass destruction technology which is a threat to countries in the region and he has made a mockery of the weapons inspection process." -- NANCY PELOSI, December 16, 1998
"The community of nations may see more and more of the very kind of threat Iraq poses now: a rogue state with weapons of mass destruction, ready to use them or provide them to terrorists. If we fail to respond today, Saddam and all those who would follow in his footsteps will be emboldened tomorrow." -- BILL CLINTON in 1998
The corporations like Halliburton are sneaking off to the banks with HUGE profits from this war. They are oppressing all of us citizens: the ones who oppose the war, AND the ones who support the war, and ESPECIALLY those who got killed or injured in the war. Let's identify the REAL enemy here: Dick Cheney and the big war profiteers. We are ALL paying $3 trillion so they can get richer, while we get poorer.
How would you like if they come invade your country? You'd be in a war that you didn't wanted and lose all the ones who were loved by you.
What kind of a human would say killing other people is okay as long as they are not my people? They should listen to themselves, could they sink any lower?
im assuming your american, using your comment to make that guess
1.how would you like it if russians or someone came and invaded america couldnt defend itself and hundreds of thousands americans got killed.
2.somme was in 1914, before guns could kill from a mile away and before missils could fire around the world and back again. and somme was fought in a way noone expected, britain and america still thought the war was gonna be faught face to face and on horse back.
These are human lives, every one of them counts! You don't believe it, I know, you clearly have decided to knuckle under the generalizing thinking that the "big men" use and press down your humanity. But if your mom or lover, brother, sister, dad, child, friend was on one day simply killed by someone who didn't care... do you still think that any number of people under one million doesn't count? If we count all the people you are close to, there is still probably under ten.

ok two points sure war is bad...but go over to iraq yourself and sit down with the terrorists and say please stop killing people..do you think they will listen? some people in this world dont want peace..they are called terrorists for a reason....next point the military is VOLUNTARY they do it because they respect this country so stop acting like they are being sent for no reason they SIGNED up for it
What a bunch of leftists tripe. You need to talk to some of the REAL soldiers who have actually been there and voluntarily returned and re-enlisted because they believe in the cause of Freedom.
Learn to make real films and not just propaganda pieces.
weell what he said isnt wrong. soldiers do enlist an reinlist voluntarily. most pople here call false when they hear something they dont like. both sides do have fakes, along with lies and propaganda. theres no need to insult one another.
most people here call false when they hear something they dont like. both sides do have facts, along with lies and propaganda. theres no need to insult one another. we just need to pull together as ONE country like we started out. not as two. which is all we are now. we aren't America anymore, all we are is two groups. PRO-Bush/War and ANTI-Bush/War. don't call me an idiot cuz its not fact or what not. this is my personal opinion. and i would respect you for yours, as i expect the same from you.
Cause of freedom??? Seems like you got both eyes poked out.. It cracks me up everytime I hear you people talk about it. If you believe what you wrote, you're certainly very far from it.
that was a very touching and emotional montage to watch so early this morning. it was a cruel reminder of that carnage our 4ooo NJ Guard troops are stepping into this spring as they deploy.
(and in the meantime, hopefully the gardenstate won't have any floods, firel, hurricanes or other disasters.)
Once again, the idiot supporters of a failed and criminal President and a war that never should have begun emerge from the rotting meat of their hate and ignorance, like the maggots that they are, and attack a young lady with a heart and a conscience.
You can certainly tell they know their day is coming to an end. They're picking the easiest targets they can find.
Cowards, each and every one of you right-wing tools.
Poor child. Another victim of public education and other liberal rot. What ashame nothing here is of any value. The ignorance of history is astounding. No, it's sickening.
This comment has received too many negative votesshow
Too true. I'm glad we live in a country where even formulaic, trite trash like this can be made available for public consumption, but it's ultimately nothing but naive, dishonest pap.
Saddam was trained and put into power by the CIA. Saddam offered to leave Iraq before the recent war started. In the 1920s, the British were bombing innocent civilians in order to control the oil.
Saddam's CIA handler was an Iraqi dentist working for CIA and Egyptian intelligence. Saddam's paymaster was Capt. Abdel Maquid Farid, the assistant military attaché at the Egyptian Embassy.
its a shame how u can refer to ur fellow americans as rot and give dictators in the middle east who cost us the lives of our men and women. ur comments are the ignorance that spreads like a malignant form of cancer
No, you are woefully wrong again. Saddam Hussein wanted a billion dollars free and clear from the USA to leave Iraq. To give it to him would be illegal. Then we would have you BDS suffers wanting to impeach President Bush for breaking a law.
The USA does not bargain with terrorists. It is against the law.
What is most silly about your claim is, Saddam Hussein didn't need the USA's permission to leave. He was free to go. For some reason, he didn't want to go without the money.
The USA does bargain with terrorists. Study : Major Charles McKee, Lockerbie and Manzur El-Khassar. The CIA at one point believed that Saddam had flown to Belarus.
Anyone who believes that this war is a meat grinder has zero grasp on the nature of war. We have suffered relatively few lives in the most difficult of circumstantces (an occupation of a sectarian country with considerable ethnic and religious divergance).
After WWII, 1.4 million German prisoners died in captivity. In Korea, nearly 3 million civilians were murdered by the USA and its allies. Up to 5 million Vietnamese were killed in the Vietnam war. The US is probably responsible for more civilian deaths than Hitler's Germany.
You are pulling stupid out of your butt and trying to sell it as wisdom. You are not very bright. Why do people like you hate the USA so desperately? The world's only hope, and you hate it.
And how many Iraq's? OR is "liberation" a euphemism for "killing". Well, we certainly are liberating a lot of Iraq's.
It's not that there has been ONLY 4000 deaths in this war the issue is that there have been ANY deaths. The battlefield in war on terrorism is in the hearts and minds of would be terrorists. That is the only way to win an asymmetrical war like this.
u have to look at the big picture 1jd. we have 4000 casualties, but have we actually accomplished anything? Saddam is dead, but there is no freedom and democracy there things are worse now then when saddam was in power. and ur missing the causalties of insurgents which is in the 5 diget range and the citizens of Iraq which is over 100,000.
in the first gulf war we suffered less than 500 ppl was it really worth it to have sacraficed 4000 of our loved ones 2 relize somthing we knew wasnt right
The U.S. could have ended this war one of two ways:
1. We could have voted Bush out in 2004. Unfortunately, the people with common sense were outnumbered by the people who would rather keep their heads in the sand and forget all the crimes and atrocities that Bush has commited.
2. Congress having the guts to impeach Bush. But we all know that will never happen. Because Congress is gutless.
I don't understand why people have such a hard time acepting that this war is a mistake!
The war has killed more people than any terrorist could even dream of killing!

Why do you defend them?
actforus333 3 years ago
you tell them!!....when they send a truck over to Iraq....they do not even send "tires" if they get a flat.

Nazi Germany.....that is exactly where we are headed if people do not wake up.
Goldbuckles 3 years ago
Our war spending is less than %2 of our(gdp) gross domestic product, and funding requires democrats doubling the size of the bill through earmarks. Halliburton provides food and supplies to keep us alive, blackwater is contracted to keep U.S. soldiers from escorting non-American dignitaries(at their expense). Several free elections, without phoney super delegates, and an %80 percent drop in violence. We are winning, we cant afford not to win, and some cities here need U.S. occupation as well.
courtneywbradley 4 years ago

If my generation fails, my children will have to return to face a more difficult fight that all could have been prevented if anyone from the carter administration on weren't pussies.
courtneywbradley 4 years ago
Your children will be enslaved. They will not have the opportunity you have had in the past. Soon, you will be telling your children how it "used to be in America". The Trans Texas Corridor will be in effect soon and Canada - Mexico - and the United States of America will be combined. We have lost our sovereighty and we lost habeas corpus - all of our freedoms do no longer exist because of Bush's PATRIOT ACT.

This is not "winnable."
actforus333 4 years ago
chpaladin is right our larger cities have more deaths from gun violence in a year than the iraq war has had in 5 years. Finish the job so we don't have to go back into in even bloodier fight in the future. Plus we have a great chance to make the country of Iraq promising. A free Iraq would be the perfect balance between Sunni's & Shiites and could end major conflicts in the mid east because of the balance of this one country.

Liberals have enormous compassion for terrorists and criminals, but little for their victims. All individual freedoms demand the responsible behavior of the individual, and therefore demand a moral code. Liberals despise freedom because they despise morality.
The liberal despises national sovereignty which protects individual freedoms.
The liberal promotes international governments (UN, EU, etc.) which seek to destroy individualism protected by sovereign states.
libsaretraitors 4 years ago

But if your mom or lover, brother, sister, dad, child, friend was on one day simply killed by someone who didn't care... do you still think that any number of people under one million doesn't count? If we count all the people you are close to, there is still probably under ten.

I spit in your faces.

Poor child. Another victim of public education and other liberal rot. What ashame nothing here is of any value. The ignorance of history is astounding. No, it's sickening.
Thank God adults have been in charge.

No, Saddam Hussein was not "trained" by the CIA, or put into power. Pick up a real book on history. You'll be amazed at how dumb you sound here.
SigneAnderson 4 years ago
Saddam's CIA handler was an Iraqi dentist working for CIA and Egyptian intelligence. Saddam's paymaster was Capt. Abdel Maquid Farid, the assistant military attaché at the Egyptian Embassy.

From 1983-1993 Saddam's regime killed over 100,000 ethnic Kurds using chemical warfare in what human rights organizations labeled genocide.
In 1991 Saddam reacted to his defeat to U.S. forces by massacring roughly 200,000 shia.
The coalition provisional human rights office estimates that in total Saddams regime killed between 300,000 and 450,000 civillians.
The war is worth fighting and winning because Saddam's regime terrorized its own citizens.

SigneAnderson 4 years ago
The USA does bargain with terrorists. Study : Major Charles McKee, Lockerbie and Manzur El-Khassar. The CIA at one point believed that Saddam had flown to Belarus.

U.S. deaths in prior wars
WWII: 291,557
Korean War: 33,741
Vietnam War: 47,424
Current War in Iraq ~4,000
Anyone who believes that this war is a meat grinder has zero grasp on the nature of war. We have suffered relatively few lives in the most difficult of circumstantces (an occupation of a sectarian country with considerable ethnic and religious divergance).
1jd1983 4 years ago
After WWII, 1.4 million German prisoners died in captivity. In Korea, nearly 3 million civilians were murdered by the USA and its allies. Up to 5 million Vietnamese were killed in the Vietnam war. The US is probably responsible for more civilian deaths than Hitler's Germany.

You are pulling stupid out of your butt and trying to sell it as wisdom. You are not very bright. Why do people like you hate the USA so desperately? The world's only hope, and you hate it.

Reportedly, the USA was responsible for the biggest act of terror in the UK. What do you know about Operation Mockingbird and operation Gladio?

Even one death in this illegal, uneccessary war is one too many.
kestrel9000 4 years ago 10
And how many Iraq's? OR is "liberation" a euphemism for "killing". Well, we certainly are liberating a lot of Iraq's.
It's not that there has been ONLY 4000 deaths in this war the issue is that there have been ANY deaths. The battlefield in war on terrorism is in the hearts and minds of would be terrorists. That is the only way to win an asymmetrical war like this.
Boogieman55117 4 years ago
u have to look at the big picture 1jd. we have 4000 casualties, but have we actually accomplished anything?

I pray this war ends soon.
