United States of America's military is by far more elite. Green berrets , SOCOM , USMC , U.S army , Navy SEAL's , and so on are very elite the qualifications for some of these divisions jobs are insane green berrets and guerrilla warfare , that takes balls to dress like a hadji and go into there village
Ahh, ya'll better check a bit further. The US Airborne Ranger's of the 75th Regiment and Ranger school itself and other required training goes a stretch beyond the Brit Royals, I mean they act as a security unit for US Delta Force (officially known as CAG), they would definitely have to meet certain standards for that. Even in the Airborne and vis-a-vis 101st Air Assualt (one of which was the 18th Corps I was a member of) the combat guys typically had formation runs of to 6 - 7 miles @ 5:30 AM
and 19 minute miles? That individual would not be in the United States Armed Forces with scores like that...literally. He wouldn't have been graduated from boot camp. 19 minutes is what the average US Marines runs his 3 miles in.
@infokemp i believe he means the 75th Ranger Regiment. which are more akin to your paratroopers and commandos aka elite light infantry designed for specific purposes and missions
Ok err, ya'll have not taken into account the eilte US Army Airborne Rangers (73rd regiment) who can be a bit beyond a match for US marines and would give British Royal marines pause.
US Army paratroopers go through advanced training that is several cuts above the average Army when they arrive to either 82nd Airborne Division or 101st Air Assault or 173rd Brigade. Their standards are high. HoooAH! All the way!
@OccupyHumanRights1 they have about the same training as royals god sake can't you just realise you have been beat in 1 category we have better soldiers but obviously you have a better tech
AT THE END OF THE DAY MOST MILITARISTIC IDEAS OF TODAY IN HOW SOLDIERS SHOULD TRAIN ETC CAME FROM THE BRITISH AND GERMAN ARMED FORCES AMERICA JUST COPIES IDEAS AND TRY TO MAKE THEM BETTER THE SAS TRAINED WITH THE SEALS AND EVEN THE SAS SAID THEIR LIKE LUMBERING ELEPHANTS BUT WHEN IT GETS DOWN TO IT THEY ARE FINE SOLDIERS BUT THWY HAVE ALOT TO LEARN MANY BRITISH SOLDIERS ALSO CALL THEM THE GADGET DUMMIES BECAUSE THEY HAVE ALL THE GEAR BUT NO IDEA
I don't know much about the US Army, but I believe the British SAS (Secret Air Service) have trained Delta Force (Elite US unit). The British Army have also trained US troops in riot control.. so the British must be doing some good.
Both Armies are a force you wouldn't want to mess with.
special air service dickhead, though the US do have their failing, as does every military in the world, the US is the penultimate fighting force in the world, despite the lack of training they are battle hardened and very brave and you should take your hat of to them and i am british.
yeah they did, but not against the US, it was a multinational force, the US only one because france and holland were at war with britain at the same time
simple answer.. americans dont compare oursleves to the brits.. but the brits cant seem to get enough... our forces are better than the americans our weapons are better than the americans.. our tea is better than BLAA BLAA noone cares
@imjeffrey88 Well I wish you well with your training - if you are interested in fitness training for the (Royal) Marines or USMC - I recommend a book by Sean Lerwill called Royal Marines Fitness, it is an excellent book for fitness training for USMC or Royal Marines although the selection courses will be different - it has helped me with my MMA & Boxing training.
@imjeffrey88 The US Marine was talking about 19 minute PFT run thats 3 miles in 19 minute that equals about 6 and a half minute mile. He doesnt know what hes talking about.
its actually semper fidelis (it means always faithful), semper fi is short for it.....being american does not earn you the right to shout it out aloud.....you need to join to earn that right
You are clearly ignorant. Learn how to spell it right at least. Its Marine CORPS. There is no better quality for American Initial Entry Training, than that of Army OSUT.
Damn, I was expecting showing video of training in the UK with comparable training in the US, instead it's a bunch of talk, which is appropriate considering the source. (Sangin, Basra)
I did this video in order to help people get a better idea of what works and what does not work from historical campaigns rather than say who was absolutely better - in order to help enlighten civillians - some people have been offended by the video which was not my intention - it was in order through me that veterans (I have spoken to) could give their opinions based on their combat experience - the case of Malaya - you can check my views & theirs by reading the book crush Malaysia.
why why why why why? why make this fucking video? who are you? fuck off with this shit please for the love of fucking god. ive served with the us army and the us marines and yes they're fucking better than us. end of discussion. now fuck the fuck off.
@xfinchx Are you in the British Armed Forces? - if you are, then this was not meant to offend you or American troops - it is a history video not a reflection on the current qualitative strength of the USMC which is a battle hardened force - which I have the greatest respect for - I do not slander or say the USMC in Afghanistan are immoral far from it they are doing the world a service. If you think they are better then I would happily accept a video response.
@xfinchx what so you think the US army is better than the UK really even with all the friendly fire cases if so why? and with some units like the Royal Marines having the hardest infantry training in the world (better than USMC), para's and gurka's being some of the elites?
US military against British Military in a boxing match. Royal albert hall. 9 bouts, oct 11. the British won 5 to 4 bouts. How big are your forces? And you still couldn't beat us!! Look for "tickets for troops" on google.
it isnt the same standard for sure, british army is very very well put together, disciplined and trained. They are mass produced, so the training is dumbed down and corners are slightly cut. Where as our army is smaller and can be taught to a higher level. Not hating on the US, great military.
@GIProductionz the US army may be of a larger scale, but they (both the UK and the US) are compartmentalized basically around the battalion, all training is done there and below so that "dumbed down" comment is wrong
@everyone - it dose not matter who is better than who the men/women sign up to do a job and they go and do it and both sides do it to a professional standard so how about instead of arguing we should surrport the men/womenout there fighting for us
@qwerty119933 youre just an idiot america lost if anything you retard it was the french came and one thing led to another the English and the english became friends and a piece treaty was signed no one won but most of the battles between the british and the americans the americans got stuffed absolutly tortured just watch the patriot (an american film) you get the shit kicked out of you then another country comes youse got your arse kicked
god, you have no idea what you are talking about... just watched your video and you talk shit, unless you have served with the Yanks as a soldier then i suggest you don talk at all, they are good guys and i'd rather have them by my side than any army in Europe... long live the British, US, Canadian and Australian army
for starters it is a fact the british are trained better than americans . the americans have more technology . but we couldnt fight each other it would be a cold war we both have enough nukes to wipe the world out
I am sorry, but I think david took the matter a bit too seriously.... Surely I don't care whom I am fighting next to as long as we are sooting at the same direction. Cause if he is not and endanger my life or my mates.... I will WHIP him.
I dont know whats the point of talking about this stupid thing when both the country belongs to NATO and the chances are on a high scale conflict on multiple front we have to fight on their side weather we like it or not. Same thing with them as well...
@0091Eng Why couldn't we have our independence? You guys tried to stop us but that doesn't make me hate Brits because all that was a long time ago. We are #1 allies now and we need to stick together to defeat all these countries filled with hate and jelousy for our superior way of life. Love from USA!!
Erm...Vietnam. Oh dear America. You really made a mess of that one. Perhaps if you had taken a leaf out of the British, albeit costly but well-fought, campaign in Burma during the Second World War, you might have learnt something about jungle and guerilla combat. The biography of Field-Marshall Viscount Slim may have helped? The British haven't lost a war in almost a 1000 years. We held off the Nazis for 2 years , until your somewhat tardy entrance. My house is older than your country. Britain!!
@infokemp you wouldnt mind explaining the british terminology around 4:15 In barracks i believe is what you said by that do you mean garrison aka duty station wise were soldiers are at if not deployed? thank you
@Andyv1996 What about when they surrendered againts that new country giving them its independance, whats its name oh ya the United States, maybe youve just forgoten all of your defeats.
@CommandingCommando that was a battle not a war the british were never defeated in the war just made a peace treaty and that was when you had france on your side just remember what happened when it was just england vs america we kicked your arse with our forces spread thin over a quarter of the globe defending the greatest empire the world has ever seen on land and water whats america done which is anywhere close to that
@Andyv1996 yes that was 300 years ago, now England is a tiny scrawny country, It doesnt have the military man power of what used to be the English Empire.
@Andyv1996 Britain has losed some wars within 1000 years. American Revolution, war of 1812, and has lost many colonies during the 20th century. NOW I agree Britain has a far better trained military than the US does. As for WW2, Britain was a day away from surrendering before they decided to bomb Germany
im in the british army and i work with the U.S army and i must say its like working with the afgan police they are so weak and there knowlage of warfare is carp OI USA ur army is shit and ur marines have less training than our army it aint bout the history its about now we are better get over it u have numbers we have skill
why are you ugly britsh people still talking about stuff that happened a long time ago just face it if we got in a war with you stupid fucks we would fuck your shit up!!!!
Blah Blah Blah Blah, America Kicked your ass a couple of times, saved your ass a couple of times, and America been kicking ass since 1776. America is #1 We know and you know, even if you don't wanna admit. Our army could still kick your armys ass anytime, if we needed to. I like the U.K. but your people are always trying to convince everyone how great you guys are, and you might be, just not as great as us!! USA # 1 !!
@Frankopinion what a load of bollocks!!!! Where were you at the falklands? And at least the british army is in it from the start and dont join half way through. And kicking ass since 1776! Lets remember vietnam and how well that went for you. The british army has had its low points dont get me wrong and I like americans but sometimes you've got to realise your armed forces aint perfect.
@UpUpDown123 yeh the marines get training in bayonet charging alot and i dont think they have done once since vietnamn yet we have falklands royal marines did it and even in basra british soldiers charged the enemy with bayonets we have more courage and training.
@TheGunner1324 An Australian Vietnam vet I was talking to stated that a lot of American stories of 'heroism' in Vietnam are exaggerated. Most US soldiers he said were down and outs and couldn't give a shit what they were doing or how they were doing it.
@Talbot6832 whats that got to do with anything? im basiclly sayign british soldiers have more courage and seem to go for close quaters many US marines think british army training is easy maybe you should look it up infact in the british army they break you down futher than a US marine watch a program young soldiers i seen its coming out soon see if a british soldier does somethign wrong there beasted which means fucking pushed to there limits so they dont make that mistake again
The USA trains its soldiers to be patriotic warriors ready to die for their country. The UK trains its soldiers to be professional soldiers ready to kill for their country.
Can I just point this out, The Americans did not win the Cold War. Communism collapsed. Brezhnev was on the brink of nuclear launch when Gorbachev became the Russian Premier. Gorbachev attempted to save Communism with Glasnost and Perestroika , which eventually led to the downfall of the Kremlin. The Soviets had more nukes that the Americans. If it wasn't for the new leadership of the Soviets, The Cold War might well be still going on.
yea britian is really better than america when america helped them out of ww1 and ww2 if we didnt help there would be no britian so we better tell you what my races country Mexico will beat britian to
@MoBBnikka510 i find this is a common misconception many americans belive they won ww1 and ww2 and without them we would all be speaking german. America only joined ww1 when one of the british passenger ships carrying american civilians was mistaken for a navy vessel and destroyed. However at this point the allies were winning and would have continuted to do so withiut the USA.In ww2 you only joined once pearl hrbour was bombed we could have won without the USA as russia was still in the war
@TheTim2503 "there was also land that the british gained too" What land? After the end of the war all land taken by both sides was returned to its previous state. The disputed territory the did not belong to anyone was gained by the US because Britain agreed to step down from her claim.
How many major naval battle did the US win? Do you know what they are? Lets see what they teach you in school.
@TheTim2503 People outside the US don't usually know all the thing I just listed. The somalia example doesn't work unless Somalia defeated the US navy and got the US to dismantle one of their bases. Britain did more than withdraw and they certainly didn't agree to the sort of things a winner would.
"Respond to this video". Fine, I will PM you from now on. Might I add that you also responded to me and not the video.
I was in the U.S. army from 1999 to 2002 and I can tell you that Marines had much harder training than we did. That being said, no one in my basic training would have taken 19 minutes to run a mile and be allowed to stay. 7- 8 min was normal for us to. If a marine really told you that he is now glad to bring his mile down to 19 min (low even for the army) was a rare exception and likely on notice until he got up to standard. I also had to run more than 3 times a week at my permanent station.
@TheTim2503 1812 is taught as a victory in the US because Britain at the time, was violating many parts of the treaty of paris, including maintaining forts on US soil.
When the war was over...
1) They stopped all violations of the treaty from the first US revolution
2) They had lost the war on the sea, something britain had never been beaten in before
3) Even though no existing territory was taken, Britain had to give up disputed territory, namely Oregon country, and G.B. agreed to this.
@TheTim2503 Bay of Pigs wasn't a war. We never withdrew from lebanon. We held a held 1,000,000 men off with 50 k men in vietnam, when we thought the SVA was ready, we left. They than proceeded to fail. 1812 was a draw. Somalia? We went there for humanitarian missions. It was a UN not US effort. Were we involved? Yes. But so were multiple countries of the UN. In fact, Somalia was one of the few times the UN didn't just throw America out there alone.
@sarsfieldusmc That's what i hate about Americans. Yes the bay of pigs wasn't a war but that doesn't mean that you can't brush it off like nothing happened. Aswell, you seem unable to admit defeat. Within an hour or two of American forces leaving Vietnam, the country was comminist. And you weren't there to train the NVA, you brought in Conscription Laws because you ran out of men. Just accept defeat.
@SilverSolLos it wasn't a defeat. during that time there was a hippie movement and there was no one in the entire countries supporting it. soldiers ( traitors who deserve a slow and painful death ) fled the country. that war broke from the inside.
that like say one boxer got defeated due to and unexpected heart attack. or defeating a basketball team because every player on the other team randomly get a sprain ankle. america goal was to collapse communism and thats what happened
@mrfwest I'm not too sure which 'conflict' you're talking about. However, you just prove my point that Americans are taught nothing about world history! Cuba is STILL Communist. Vietnam is STILL Communist. And yes, the war did not have popular opinion from the people, however that does not contribute to the fact that you lost in Vietnam! The 'hippies' as you so ignorantly called them was almost every non-soldier man woman and child. Just a bit of History for you there.
@SilverSolLos no, a hippie was not every man woman and child. no one cared if cuba and Vietnam was communist. they only care about communism gaining power and influence. non of that happened. no one care if cuba was communist.
if we did America could have starved cuba and implemented whatever government we wanted... you know nothing about history or anything involving it
@mrfwest Oh dear, how embarrasing for you. I'm English and I know more about American History than you. If no once cared about Cuba then why did you quarrantine it? You couldn't do shit about Cuba because The Soviets were in allience with them and nobody wanted MAD. If you could implement whatever Government you wanted, how come you failed several times in assassinating Fidel Castro? And America didn't care if Vietnam was Communist? How come you brought conscription laws into enforcement then?
@SilverSolLos " If no once cared about Cuba then why did you quarrantine it? " because the soviets were trying to arm them with nukes and fidel castro helped. if the soviets tried to put nukes in Mexico we would be have a entirely difference conversation. " How come you brought conscription laws into enforcement then?" it was a power struggle. america didn't care if the whole world was communist... as long as America had the most power / influence
@mrfwest Haha, there we have where your entire arguement fails. The Cold War was about the spreading of Communism as a parasite through eastern europe then slowly on the shores of America, right? What if we look differently on it? What if it was equally about the spread of Capitalism through western europe in an attempt to make America lots of money? In a Communist world, a Capitalist country would be crippled. Also, Mexico was never Communist so wouldn't have any reason to want to attack The US
@SilverSolLos how did my argument fail? you just stated things i never said and told me "Mexico was never Communist so wouldn't have any reason to want to attack The US " which is besides the point. i hypothetically said mexico to show you how irrelevant Cuba itself was.
@mrfwest Because you said 'america didn't care if the whole world was communist... as long as America had the most power / influence' and a Capitalist Country has no place in a world of Communism. They totally have clashing ideaology. Honestly, I cannot believe you can't see that?
@mrfwest .. Why don't you understand?! Not even America could take the whole world on in an ENTIRE world war. Also, The Soviets would have so many Nuclear Weapons stockpiled it would be unbelievable. No Communist country deals with Capitalist Governments. (With the exception of China) You would not be able to controll the countrys anyway. My friend, for once admit that you have lost and accept defeat.
@SilverSolLos when i said "control" i wasn't talking about physical. i was talking about influences and you can take nukes out of the question because no country would ever use them on another country again.
" No Communist country deals with Capitalist Governments." really? how do you think communist get products from capitalist governments.
there is no defeat, your wrong. there's no other way to put it
@mrfwest If you know anything about The Cold War, you would realise that at some times American Pilots were in the Bomber Planes awaiting the call from the White House to launch off and nuke half the world to oblivion. As for your second comment, A Communist Government is a dictatorship, so if they need more food, they can enforce people to do manual labour in the fields, etc. Communist Countries have a poor economy in most cases but they are almost entirely self sufficient.
@SilverSolLos i seriously doubt that america was ready to " nuke half the world to oblivion " i sure we had nukes ready for other countries but they had them ready for us also
" A Communist Government is a dictatorship," that wouldn't matter, china doesn't have enough fertile land to support their needs. sure they could have enough food --- but the only they would be eating is fish
a high majority of countries have to import food just to have the average amount of food
@mrfwest Thats what the entire Cold War was about, America were ready to nuke the eastern hemisphere and Russia was ready to nuke the western hemisphere.
In a world where all capitalism has collapsed and commuinism has taken over, the chances of said communist states forming alliences is highly probable, meaning there would be trade and imports and exports of food between communist states. However, the last capitalist state would wither due to there being no trade partners of produce.
" In a world where all capitalism has collapsed, he chances of said communist states forming alliences is highly probable, " couldn't happen because america is #1 in capitalism and agriculture by far but even if it was possible that the different countries world work together, there would still be separate alliances looking to capitalize
@mrfwest Because America is number one in capitalism, the communist states couldn't form alliences? And 'there would still be separate alliances looking to capitalize' isn't what we're arguing about? You said that America didn't care if the whole world was communist (Which I can instantly dismiss due to the Truman Doctrine stating America would fight communism where ever it needed to be faught) So in essence the arguemnet is now about wether America could survive being the last capitalist state
@SilverSolLos first the Truman doctrine had nothing to do with communism. is was about America having complete control over the western hemisphere ( well influence ) America didn't want powers in the eastern world to control any western land
is not about weather America could survive it would. it provides to much to the world, not to.
@mrfwest Actually, the sphere of influence was agreed in the Yalta or Tehran conference, i forget which one. It was agreed that England would also have the sphere of influence over western Europe. The Truman Doctrine was about America placing itself in the middle of the fight against Communism. Saying that America would fight Communism wherever it threatened democracy, ie. Vietnam, the Americans also armed the muhajideen to fight against the Soviet invasion of Afghanistan.
Just going to make one point here. What most Americans seem to miss as well as British folk. The American Marines are Not in the same league as British Marines. The British Royal Marines are (Commandos) not standed Marine. Royal Marines are Elite infantry where as the American Marines are hardcore at there best but Not elite in anyway what so ever. You can not compare the American Marines with British Marines.
@MrGrafted Agreed, British commandos are more comparable to our Rangers. Iv'e seen US Army training videos and iv'e seen UK Army training videos. We aren't all that different. I wouldn't place US training any higher or lower than british. Iv'e looked at combat records of the US and Uk army's and iv'e noticed that the US has an equal, if not better, combat record. Thats my 2 cents
I think civilians discount the fact that training never ends. We never stopped training and doing PT. Fuck the Marine Corps by the way, I had several friends join the Marine Corps and when we traded basic/boot stories they didn't impress me whatsoever. I fought with them in Baghdad and again they didn't impress me at all.
I was in a mechanized infantry unit in the U.S. Army and we ran a minimum of 7 miles a day. The 82 Airborne does PT twice a day and I guarantee they did more than 7 miles. During basic training there was one week where I slept a total of 8 hours while doing humps to missions and then doing anywhere from 10 to 12 mile humps to different mission sites. After a week of that shit we marched 20 miles to Honor Hill where we got bloodpinned the Infantry Cross Rifles. The training didn't end there.
@zegermandude How the fuck do i get into Mech Infantry, no really. I start talking with my recruiter next year, i'm 15 now and i want to start talking with my recruiter asap to make sure i land the job i want, and what MOS is it? Is it 19D, cuz i cant quite figure out the difference between Cav and mechanized units. Besides the fact that Cav does recon.
@sarsfieldusmc 19D isn't mech infantry or a cav scout its an Abrams driver. You can't request to be in mech infantry, you just get put there. Even the officers have no choice what infantry unit they go to. Best bet would be to talk to the recruiter and see if they know what divisions are short and try to time ending basic when a mech unit is picking up. Which will generally be about 8-10 months before they deploy. Although in this political climate I dont condone anybody joining the armed forces
I would hope the British keep the few soldiers they have at a high standard--the United States has a million people in uniform, and with that size, not every unit is going to be elite. However, our elite units are at a world standard, and even if that is only 10% it adds an overwhelming number.

How can you compare U.S and U.K??? U.S has a hudge army and resources and is over 100x bigger than Britain. U.K has the best trained forces in the world, U.S has the best navy in the world and the U.K the 2nd best. Both U.S and U.K have the best tehcnology in the world, and also best air-forces. Basically U.S and U.K Forces are the same, No side is better just bigger.
Really, 19 minute miles. Sorry, but our PFT require you to run three miles in less than 26 Mins. Younger studs normaly do it in 15:30 to 19 mins. The 30 mile Hump or Ruck as you all call them has do be done in 8 hrs or less with 75lbs packs. I respect the hell out of Royal Marine, but the USMC is the real deal. Hell I even have a RMC Green Beret...traded it for my Ka-Bar;)
I have the utmost respect for the British Armed Forces. However, how does one explain the British failures in both southern Iraq and southern Afghanistan? The US achieved a (very limited) victory in Iraq and is trying to solve the problems that arose during the British occupation of Helmand province.
The British are undoubtedly the best at peacekeeping operations but are inferior to the US when it comes to more intense operations.
@AlBunyan How do you explain the American failures in Iraq and Afghan?? Its not only the British that has been mistakes, The Americans and Germans have made alot of stupid mistakes.(No military is perfect)
the US has the numbers but the better equipment end of
us british are always outnumberd but we never loose
also the way in which we are brought up especially in essex and london boys already makes us natrual fighters its in our blood almost every single person has a relative whos fought for our nation and we wrote the book WE ARE THE BEST
one thing, the american marine who told you he got his MILE down to 19 minutes was probably mis-comunicating 19 minutes is for 3 miles the mile is about the same as the british at 6-7 minutes
personally i think it's impossible to have an impartial review from someone of the two countries militaries you're comparing. example: complementing the Royal marines much more heavily than US marines (not knocking the Royal Marines you guys are our allies and i'm sure you guys fight as hard as anyone). my point being you need to either find someone unbiased to do this vid or spend some time in america and with american marines before you can compare the two. there's my honest feedback man.

The American tactics are as following: LOOK A MAN ON THE RIDGE - CALL AIR SUPPORT BOMB THE SHIT OF OF HIM - FRIENDLY FIRE MY BAD. (too late) in the gulf war the British lost more troops to AMERICAN friendly fire then to the Iraqis
@MrH1tler I have to agree with that, the American tactics are awful, take a look at the leaked Iraq war files. And yes, EVERY army has blue on blue cases. but the U.S have, I believe, the highest in the world.
@MrH1tler last time i checked Britain lost 38 to enemy fire and only 9 to friendly fire. I hope you don't get the old update from BBC some highly suggested it but recently reports Britainsmall wars(dot)com lately release all the name of British servicemen died it and it's more than 16 deaths.
I'm not going to take any sides here, but for those of you who are commenting that the British Forces are superior to the U.S. Forces, why was it that you couldn't hold your ground in WWII? I find it odd that not only could you not hold your ground on those battlefields without American Forces, but your entire world rule was haulted in its tracks by a rag tag army in the 1700's-1800's. Lets not forget the U.S. Army defeated the British Governement. U.S Military is superior to all British Forces.
Allot of these comments are shit if this guy fought along the us forces u in combat extensively i would take his word for it. England would be a cool place to visit
if the U.S. went to war with the uk, or nato for that matter, euorope would be in ruins... and yes i do know that this would never happen, obviously! U.S. navy seals>british SAS. the only thing that holds america back is its political diversity.
@Fatdeh24 Wake up kiddo. We live in the nuclear age. That means no matter how much it hurts you to think about it America is just another country with nukes. Pakistan is just as powerful, and so is any other country with nukes. Its a level playing field.
@footballmad85 You're example may work out in some cases, but there are two things you're forgetting. One Pakistans ballistic capabilities are zero to none and secondly what makes the U.S. far more dagerous in a nuclear age and or war, is that they have far greater numbers of nukes; no one comes close, not even Russia.
Best troops I ever trained with were the Republic of Korea Marines. Just some awesome warriors.
Its tough to just say one unit or nationality is across the board better than another. Some may be better at some things than others. For instance the Aussies have a very professional force, but they probably arent my first choice if were talking about operating in a cold weather environment, for obvious reasons.
The Brits are much superior in training, standards and ethos...always have been....but what the yanks lag behind in these areas they make up for in others..I am an Aussie by the way - and we need both as allies.
British Army and USMC, small forces. They train all of their personnel to high standards. The US Army is MASSIVE. The training standards of the soldiers vary GREATLY with the different type of soldier. A support role soldier won't be as well trained in combat, and won't go through as rigorous or disciplined training as that of a US Army Infantryman.
Thats why Brits retreated from Basra and left the Iraqi Army and police in cold..only to be saved by US. Same with Sangin in Afghanistan.....and Fallujah was a success homeboy ....cleaned the Terrorist hell whole. The operations in Al Anbar are being studied in Military Academies worldwide. Get your tin foil hat off. !!!!
@macanusa Sangin? The counter attack was done by American, Afghan, Danish, Estonian, British and Dutch forces with Canadian artillery. Was your point that a coalition of nations will work together? The British also had the Afghan forces in the city of Sangin defect to the Taliban, all things considered they did really fuckin' good. Fallujah had both British and Iraqi soldiers with the US.
@macanusa You mean the USMC went into Basra and ruined it, the British troops in very small numbers had the task of helping the police, and army to keep the place safe, it was not the British armys fault, Tony Blair was not thinking about it in the bigger picture.

OccupyHumanRights1 2 weeks ago
As for the daily PT in the US forces, I don't know who you talked to, but in the US Army Infantry, they PT 2 hours every morning.
CaptainAmerica322 1 month ago
and 19 minute miles?

I don't know much about the US Army, but I believe the British SAS (Secret Air Service) have trained Delta Force (Elite US unit). The British Army have also trained US troops in riot control.. so the British must be doing some good.
Both Armies are a force you wouldn't want to mess with.

oeyesea 4 months ago
I did this video in order to help people get a better idea of what works and what does not work from historical campaigns rather than say who was absolutely better - in order to help enlighten civillians - some people have been offended by the video which was not my intention - it was in order through me that veterans (I have spoken to) could give their opinions based on their combat experience - the case of Malaya - you can check my views & theirs by reading the book crush Malaysia.

If you think they are better then I would happily accept a video response.

it isnt the same standard for sure, british army is very very well put together, disciplined and trained. They are mass produced, so the training is dumbed down and corners are slightly cut. Where as our army is smaller and can be taught to a higher level. Not hating on the US, great military.

I also had to run more than 3 times a week at my permanent station.
arch571332 10 months ago
@TheTim2503 1812 is taught as a victory in the US because Britain at the time, was violating many parts of the treaty of paris, including maintaining forts on US soil.
When the war was over...
1) They stopped all violations of the treaty from the first US revolution
2) They had lost the war on the sea, something britain had never been beaten in before
3) Even though no existing territory was taken, Britain had to give up disputed territory, namely Oregon country, and G.B. agreed to this.
arch571332 10 months ago
@TheTim2503 Bay of Pigs wasn't a war. We never withdrew from lebanon. We held a held 1,000,000 men off with 50 k men in vietnam, when we thought the SVA was ready, we left. They than proceeded to fail. 1812 was a draw. Somalia? We went there for humanitarian missions. It was a UN not US effort. Were we involved? Yes. But so were multiple countries of the UN. In fact, Somalia was one of the few times the UN didn't just throw America out there alone.
sarsfieldusmc 10 months ago
@sarsfieldusmc That's what i hate about Americans. Yes the bay of pigs wasn't a war but that doesn't mean that you can't brush it off like nothing happened. Aswell, you seem unable to admit defeat. Within an hour or two of American forces leaving Vietnam, the country was comminist. And you weren't there to train the NVA, you brought in Conscription Laws because you ran out of men. Just accept defeat.
SilverSolLos 9 months ago
@SilverSolLos it wasn't a defeat. during that time there was a hippie movement and there was no one in the entire countries supporting it. soldiers ( traitors who deserve a slow and painful death ) fled the country. that war broke from the inside.
that like say one boxer got defeated due to and unexpected heart attack. or defeating a basketball team because every player on the other team randomly get a sprain ankle. america goal was to collapse communism and thats what happened
mrfwest 9 months ago
@mrfwest I'm not too sure which 'conflict' you're talking about. However, you just prove my point that Americans are taught nothing about world history! Cuba is STILL Communist. Vietnam is STILL Communist. And yes, the war did not have popular opinion from the people, however that does not contribute to the fact that you lost in Vietnam! The 'hippies' as you so ignorantly called them was almost every non-soldier man woman and child. Just a bit of History for you there.
SilverSolLos 9 months ago
@SilverSolLos no, a hippie was not every man woman and child. no one cared if cuba and Vietnam was communist. they only care about communism gaining power and influence. non of that happened. no one care if cuba was communist.
if we did America could have starved cuba and implemented whatever government we wanted... you know nothing about history or anything involving it
mrfwest 9 months ago
@mrfwest Oh dear, how embarrasing for you. I'm English and I know more about American History than you. If no once cared about Cuba then why did you quarrantine it? You couldn't do shit about Cuba because The Soviets were in allience with them and nobody wanted MAD. If you could implement whatever Government you wanted, how come you failed several times in assassinating Fidel Castro? And America didn't care if Vietnam was Communist? How come you brought conscription laws into enforcement then?
SilverSolLos 9 months ago
@SilverSolLos " If no once cared about Cuba then why did you quarrantine it? " because the soviets were trying to arm them with nukes and fidel castro helped. if the soviets tried to put nukes in Mexico we would be have a entirely difference conversation. " How come you brought conscription laws into enforcement then?" it was a power struggle. america didn't care if the whole world was communist... as long as America had the most power / influence
stick to British history
mrfwest 9 months ago
@mrfwest Haha, there we have where your entire arguement fails. The Cold War was about the spreading of Communism as a parasite through eastern europe then slowly on the shores of America, right? What if we look differently on it? What if it was equally about the spread of Capitalism through western europe in an attempt to make America lots of money? In a Communist world, a Capitalist country would be crippled. Also, Mexico was never Communist so wouldn't have any reason to want to attack The US
SilverSolLos 9 months ago
@SilverSolLos how did my argument fail? you just stated things i never said and told me "Mexico was never Communist so wouldn't have any reason to want to attack The US " which is besides the point. i hypothetically said mexico to show you how irrelevant Cuba itself was.
mrfwest 9 months ago
@mrfwest Because you said 'america didn't care if the whole world was communist... as long as America had the most power / influence' and a Capitalist Country has no place in a world of Communism. They totally have clashing ideaology. Honestly, I cannot believe you can't see that?
SilverSolLos 9 months ago
@SilverSolLos it dosen't matter i the whole world was communist as long as America had control of those communist countries
mrfwest 9 months ago
SilverSolLos 9 months ago
@SilverSolLos when i said "control" i wasn't talking about physical. i was talking about influences and you can take nukes out of the question because no country would ever use them on another country again.
" No Communist country deals with Capitalist Governments." really? how do you think communist get products from capitalist governments.
there is no defeat, your wrong. there's no other way to put it
mrfwest 9 months ago
@mrfwest If you know anything about The Cold War, you would realise that at some times American Pilots were in the Bomber Planes awaiting the call from the White House to launch off and nuke half the world to oblivion. As for your second comment, A Communist Government is a dictatorship, so if they need more food, they can enforce people to do manual labour in the fields, etc. Communist Countries have a poor economy in most cases but they are almost entirely self sufficient.
SilverSolLos 9 months ago
@SilverSolLos i seriously doubt that america was ready to " nuke half the world to oblivion " i sure we had nukes ready for other countries but they had them ready for us also
" A Communist Government is a dictatorship," that wouldn't matter, china doesn't have enough fertile land to support their needs. sure they could have enough food --- but the only they would be eating is fish
a high majority of countries have to import food just to have the average amount of food
mrfwest 8 months ago
@mrfwest Thats what the entire Cold War was about, America were ready to nuke the eastern hemisphere and Russia was ready to nuke the western hemisphere.
In a world where all capitalism has collapsed and commuinism has taken over, the chances of said communist states forming alliences is highly probable, meaning there would be trade and imports and exports of food between communist states. However, the last capitalist state would wither due to there being no trade partners of produce.
SilverSolLos 8 months ago
@SilverSolLos
" In a world where all capitalism has collapsed, he chances of said communist states forming alliences is highly probable, " couldn't happen because america is #1 in capitalism and agriculture by far but even if it was possible that the different countries world work together, there would still be separate alliances looking to capitalize
mrfwest 8 months ago
@mrfwest Because America is number one in capitalism, the communist states couldn't form alliences? And 'there would still be separate alliances looking to capitalize' isn't what we're arguing about? You said that America didn't care if the whole world was communist (Which I can instantly dismiss due to the Truman Doctrine stating America would fight communism where ever it needed to be faught) So in essence the arguemnet is now about wether America could survive being the last capitalist state
SilverSolLos 8 months ago
@SilverSolLos first the Truman doctrine had nothing to do with communism. is was about America having complete control over the western hemisphere ( well influence ) America didn't want powers in the eastern world to control any western land
is not about weather America could survive it would. it provides to much to the world, not to.
mrfwest 8 months ago

Carry on!

I think civilians discount the fact that training never ends. We never stopped training and doing PT. Fuck the Marine Corps by the way, I had several friends join the Marine Corps and when we traded basic/boot stories they didn't impress me whatsoever. I fought with them in Baghdad and again they didn't impress me at all.
zegermandude 11 months ago
I was in a mechanized infantry unit in the U.S. Army and we ran a minimum of 7 miles a day. The 82 Airborne does PT twice a day and I guarantee they did more than 7 miles. During basic training there was one week where I slept a total of 8 hours while doing humps to missions and then doing anywhere from 10 to 12 mile humps to different mission sites. After a week of that shit we marched 20 miles to Honor Hill where we got bloodpinned the Infantry Cross Rifles. The training didn't end there.
zegermandude 11 months ago
@zegermandude How the fuck do i get into Mech Infantry, no really. I start talking with my recruiter next year, i'm 15 now and i want to start talking with my recruiter asap to make sure i land the job i want, and what MOS is it? Is it 19D, cuz i cant quite figure out the difference between Cav and mechanized units. Besides the fact that Cav does recon.
sarsfieldusmc 11 months ago

Basically U.S and U.K Forces are the same, No side is better just bigger.
martynrobin121 11 months ago

AlBunyan 11 months ago
@AlBunyan How do you explain the American failures in Iraq and Afghan?? Its not only the British that has been mistakes, The Americans and Germans have made alot of stupid mistakes.(No military is perfect)
martynrobin121 11 months ago
MOD is the better force in terms of training
the MOD has the best personal weapons
the US has the numbers but the better equipment end of
us british are always outnumberd but we never loose
also the way in which we are brought up especially in essex and london boys already makes us natrual fighters its in our blood almost every single person has a relative whos fought for our nation and we wrote the book WE ARE THE BEST
molemole117117 11 months ago
one thing, the american marine who told you he got his MILE down to 19 minutes was probably mis-comunicating 19 minutes is for 3 miles the mile is about the same as the british at 6-7 minutes

personally i think it's impossible to have an impartial review from someone of the two countries militaries you're comparing. example: complementing the Royal marines much more heavily than US marines (not knocking the Royal Marines you guys are our allies and i'm sure you guys fight as hard as anyone). my point being you need to either find someone unbiased to do this vid or spend some time in america and with american marines before you can compare the two. there's my honest feedback man.

MrH1tler 1 year ago
@MrH1tler I have to agree with that, the American tactics are awful, take a look at the leaked Iraq war files. And yes, EVERY army has blue on blue cases. but the U.S have, I believe, the highest in the world.
Enrageed 11 months ago
@MrH1tler last time i checked Britain lost 38 to enemy fire and only 9 to friendly fire. I hope you don't get the old update from BBC some highly suggested it but recently reports Britainsmall wars(dot)com lately release all the name of British servicemen died it and it's more than 16 deaths.
Hperman09 11 months ago
I'm not going to take any sides here, but for those of you who are commenting that the British Forces are superior to the U.S. Forces, why was it that you couldn't hold your ground in WWII? I find it odd that not only could you not hold your ground on those battlefields without American Forces, but your entire world rule was haulted in its tracks by a rag tag army in the 1700's-1800's. Lets not forget the U.S. Army defeated the British Governement. U.S Military is superior to all British Forces.

if the U.S. went to war with the uk, or nato for that matter, euorope would be in ruins... and yes i do know that this would never happen, obviously! U.S. navy seals>british SAS. the only thing that holds america back is its political diversity.
Fatdeh24 1 year ago
@Fatdeh24 Wake up kiddo. We live in the nuclear age. That means no matter how much it hurts you to think about it America is just another country with nukes. Pakistan is just as powerful, and so is any other country with nukes. Its a level playing field.
footballmad85 1 year ago

The British army has always had high standards since 1600`s when it was created.
Elitepoosniff 1 year ago

macanusa 1 year ago
@macanusa Sangin? The counter attack was done by American, Afghan, Danish, Estonian, British and Dutch forces with Canadian artillery. Was your point that a coalition of nations will work together? The British also had the Afghan forces in the city of Sangin defect to the Taliban, all things considered they did really fuckin' good. Fallujah had both British and Iraqi soldiers with the US.
CrackCityRocker1211 1 year ago
@macanusa You mean the USMC went into Basra and ruined it, the British troops in very small numbers had the task of helping the police, and army to keep the place safe, it was not the British armys fault, Tony Blair was not thinking about it in the bigger picture.
