  • Depends on your concept of God. As a Deity or Entity, then God does have limits. because any Deity begs the question; where did that God Deity come from? Throw out the concept of God as any kind Deity then perhaps God is limitless, But then is that God, or something more than God? Something beyond our puny comprehension? Think about it.

  • god isnt just limitless its made up to like quantum, the observer changes the measurement by see, its own head up its ass like moses when he asked to see him

  • yea ... numbers are infinite no numbers are letters therefore infinite concepts can have constraints

  • Sorry, you have no idea what dualism is. Maybe google Descartes and look into the two schools of thought: empiricism and rationalism. I don't want to hate; I just want to inform.

  • I don't claim to make a truly sound argument here. In spite of that I should tell you that my video has little to do with Descartes and much more to do with Spinoza. I've taken Spinoza's arguments against dualism, heavily simplified them and created the video. Maybe you should google Spinoza. I'm not convinced Spinoza's reasoning is sound either... I just like his ideas.

  • I grew up in an age before Internet. I don't need to google anyone. I've studied and teach about Spinoza, Descartes, Schopenhauer, Kant, Plato, Aristotle, and others. Spinoza is top notch.

I won't say anything negative about your video because it really doesn't claim or say anything--seems more of a whim (nothing wrong with that). If you are studying philosophy, Spinoza sure is a great start (try Leibniz also).

  • God is infinite in what sense of the word?

  • Infinite in the sense that he has no limits. Nothing exists outside of God... if things existed outside of God he would be limited to not being those things and in that sense not infinite.

I don't necessarily believe in any of this. My video was just summarizing some ideas of Spinoza.

Are you going to try and argue with me?

  • It seems then that the first premise is that nothing exists outside of God. It naturally follows that God is everything, but theists aren't inclined to think that nothing exists outside of God. They'd disagree with God's "nfiniteness" in that sense of the word.

  • Well an argument in the sense of disagreement and supporting reasons for the disagreement. If by argument, you mean fighting to the death kind of thing, nah.

  • There's perhaps something which the video leaves out--the idea that while it is true that nothing exists outside of God, it is also true that nothing exists inside of God either. In order to contain something, the container must be bigger than the contained. In the case of a limitless Being, you cannot say that it is "bigger" or "smaller", it is simply limitless. It cannot be compared to, or, be in any relationship with something that is limited. This introduces the idea of God's transcendence.

  • Sounds great but I live no where near New York. Maybe if you did an online version it could work out.

  • Lovely video. No chance you're in the NYC area? I'm putting together an event in which 2 intellectuals (yourself perhaps?) debate important topics on stage over 3 rounds of drinks. It's called Drunk Debate...
