Statements from producers say that Clover was sort of, "hybernating", in the ocean, and in the final scene of the movie (the one that shows Rob and Beth at the amusement park), you can see a satellite crash into the water. Producers say that this satellite woke Clover out of hybernation, hence the attacks.
You see, There are these things called "Movie Mistakes" understand? It's when the directors or whoever the fuck ends up fuckin up something in the movie that gets overlooked in the end. There IS only one monster. The military never said anything about a second one. and these minor differences you pointed out are probably just overlooked mistakes made in the end by whoever the fuck was working on the movie.
if you watch some of the making of videos on the dvd it shows a scene where one of the developers is playing around with the monster's 3d model by making it open and close its mouth. this shows that the monster unhinges its jaws to bite, like a snake, and extends its teeth outward. the second pic was mid bite so the monster didnt have it's teeth fully exposed yet. and if you look at the bottom jaw, you can see its bottom row of teeth coming out. case solved.
the first monster looks HUGE compared to the second one...if there is only 1 monster then the made a movie mistake ... there is no way the one that eats Hud is as big as the one in the first pic..

One monster. Even those things that jumped of the monster, were not monsters. They were like, parasites or viruses. You stated that the placement of the teeth were different. That was because in the first picture the mouth was opened and in the second it was closed. The only part that can actually give some proof that there maybe a second monster was when that tail destroyed the bridge. The monsters tail wasn't long enough.

It does seem smaller, but if you remember when they go into the subway, you see how it roars and goes through that building? That compares to how much it had to lean down to eat Hud or... bite him in half.... But yes, this is a good movie, and I hope the sequel will explain more.

Statements from producers say that Clover was sort of, "hybernating", in the ocean, and in the final scene of the movie (the one that shows Rob and Beth at the amusement park), you can see a satellite crash into the water. You see, There are these things called "Movie Mistakes" understand? It's when the directors or whoever the fuck ends up fuckin up something in the movie that gets overlooked in the end. There IS only one monster. The military never said anything about a second one. and these minor differences you pointed out are probably just overlooked mistakes made in the end by whoever the fuck was working on the movie.

if you watch some of the making of videos on the dvd it shows a scene where one of the developers is playing around with the monster's 3d model by making it open and close its mouth. this shows that the monster unhinges its jaws to bite, like a snake, and extends its teeth outward. the second pic was mid bite so the monster didnt have it's teeth fully exposed yet. and if you look at the bottom jaw, you can see its bottom row of teeth coming out. case solved.

One monster. Even those things that jumped of the monster, were not monsters. They were like, parasites or viruses. You stated that the placement of the teeth were different. That was because in the first picture the mouth was opened and in the second it was closed. The only part that can actually give some proof that there maybe a second monster was when that tail destroyed the bridge. The monsters tail wasn't long enough.

It's the same monster. It was fighting the military for a good long while, it's obvious he was hurt, that explains the lack of some teeth. It didnt spread it's "arms/wings" in the first scene, so again, it looks different, but it's the same monster. There's only one part where i truelly think there's 2 monsters and that's when u compare these 2 scenes with the scene where a giant tail destroys the bridge. This monster doesn't look big enough to have that huge tail.

The first thing you must have noticed is the size difference... the monster filmed from the helicopter when the plane's dropping bombs and he slaps the skyscraper is way bigger than the one that eats the guy, much bigger. I mean, the freaking huge monster slaps the skyscraper and in the other scene the guy hardly fits in his mouth.

there are 2 monsters:
1) when they were going through the bridge and something colapsed it, when the birdge colapses you can see a shape coming through.
2)When they ran from the bridge, a time later the see on monster with maybe 2 teeth close to its nose. And when the helicopter crashed one monster with no teeth close to its nose eated Hud. Maybe thats the one that came from the other side of the bridge.

there is 1 monster. the first shot is of it fully opening its mouth and roaring at the people near the subway entrance. if you look closely, just before it opens its mouth, it looks alot like the second one. its the combonation of diffrent angles, lighting and how wide it opened its mouth. also, if that thing looked right at you, towering over you with those giagantic eyes and teeth, and its obviously hostile nature, would you stand still? i would have ran!

The idea of two monsters DOES sound cool, but let's face facts, there's only one monster. And those little things, are parasites. Like giant fleas you could say. Basically, if the shooting were NOT in first person view, it'd be even more obvious that it's one monster. The Military focused ALL their firepower on ONE monster. They said "IT'S STILL ALIVE." There is only ONE monster in the city, and in the entire movie.

@Jman92854 Well, I think they'd be more focused on running away from the monster(s) than to actually consider differences. What if they thought there was only one? And, anyways, in the second video of the monster, the monster looks a lot smaller and a darker color, with the taller monster in the first video being lighter with or without the explosions. I still think the chance of 2 monsters is 50/50, but, hey, it's fun looking into this movie from time to time!

It does seem smaller, but if you remember when they go into the subway, you see how it roars and goes through that building? That compares to how much it had to lean down to eat Hud or... bite him in half.... But yes, this is a good movie, and I hope the sequel will explain more.
