    DVDは発売ないですし、VHSもなかなかなくて。。

    ホントに嬉しいです!!ありがとうございます☆

  • Use YouTube Downloader, or something like it. Then, if you like, you should be able to stitch the four parts together using a video editing program.

  • so.. you can say to me why i can download this movie please? i have ben looking for this like a crazy. and dont have found a site to download

  • 本編が見たくてたまりませんでした!当時、小学生の頃を思い出します! UPに感謝!!

  • what kind of world is this?!!? fking bears/ rabbit creatures?!?!?

  • @DawnOfMaples Yeah...this has got nothing to do with Maple Story. (Predates it by about 15 years, though.)

Lemme spell it out for you: "cartoon animal people." What's not to understand?

  • Why Patty had to leave Maple town? O_o

  • She left with Aunt Jane of her own free will. I'm not entirely sure of the details.

  • @InuInuyashakoira

Aunt Jane doesn't have any children and it seems she's lonely. Her dad says she wishes she had a child like Patty to keep her company and make the hospital become a brighter place for her. The Aunt steps in and says only of course, if Patty is okay with it and Patty agrees to go with her Aunt to live in Palm Town.

  • Patty is a mori-girl , so cuuuuuuuuuute!!

  • It's a long-term goal. ^_^;

My Japanese listening skills just aren't good enough to pull it off on my own. I needed help just understanding what Alice says to freak out George and Jane (that the patients are asking George and Jane to switch roles) or what Rolley says at the end to freak out Patty (she didn't have the slightest idea what she was doing!).

Once I find either a transcript or someone willing to provide one, then you'll get your subs. ^_^

  • @TheRyusui

I think you've pretty much got it. When they switch roles, it's because a new patient has a headache and wants Jane to see him, and then another patient wants to have onion soup for lunch, but says he won't eat a bite of it unless George makes it. It seems they got their pride hurt a little, but then laugh it off and decide to switch roles. The end is just like you put it. I guess she was just shocked that Rolley took that much of a risk without knowing what she was doing.

  • @TheRyusui It's a really long shot but maybe you could do a Japanese search to find a script or something.

Or maybe just ask the Japanese people who commented on your videos. Maybe that could work too.

  • aww man, subs at least?

  • 0:07; A Toei Animation production.

  • Yep, same people who brought you Dragonball, One Piece, Saint Seiya and a really questionable adaptation of the first part of Yu-Gi-Oh!.

  • Yes. And I think they were also behind Mazinger Z, Great Mazinger, as well as Go Nagai's other giant robot anime shows.

  • wow

    jap audio!!!

    my god!

  • It's honestly hard for me to imagine any other voices for these characters. Though that's not for lack of trying. :3

I think my dream dub cast for Palm Town would cast Kari Wahlgren as Patty (yeah, I know Reba West is still doing voicework; she was Nunnally on Code Geass) and Melissa Charles as Rolley. And for the mindblow factor, Yuri Lowenthal and Kyle Hebert as Yota and Guta. If you're a Gurren Lagann fan, you'll get the joke.

  • A friend of mine managed to find and download the entirety of Palm Town ripped from the Italian DVDs. Neither one of us has watched them in their entirety yet, but we've "scrubbed" them (i.e. flicked through them in fast forward), and all told it seems somewhat lackluster compared to what I've seen of Maple Town.

On the upside, Bobby's not gone for good. The Maple Town cast does make appearances in Palm Town, including Bobby.

  • I don't think Patty would ever leave Bobby like that.

    This is devasting!

I can't imagine Patty without Bobby, no matter how cute her news friends are.

I realize they needed an excuse for a spinoff, but this is just heartbreaking.

  • Thank you for this childhood memory.

You wouldn't have the last episode of mapletown would you?

Because I never had the chance when I was little.

  • No. All I have is the little pieces of it featured here; it's all that's officially available on video.

Toei needs a swift kick in the crotch for not releasing both series on DVD already.

  • Yes I know.

Doesn't he know that their are alot of old fans out there.?

  • Apparently, there aren't quite enough fans to convince Toei a DVD release is worth their time.

Look at it this way: the Mother/Earthbound fanbase is at the very least more VOCAL than the Maple Town one, and we STILL can't convince Nintendo that official U.S. releases of Mother 1 and 3 are worth their time (though until then, at least both lost Earthbound games are playable in English through emulation).

I need to find me a native speaker so I can fansub the daylights out of this show...

  • *Cry* Maple Town on DVD would be the most awesome thing ever.

  • lol, i got the complete series on dvd, but they are dubbed in spanish, which is awesome, and the quality is great too. although i had never heard of a sequel until now, did it get dubed or is it just in japanese?

  • Gosh, I really love this cartoon!

    So cute!! <3

    Thank U for this! ^-^

  • Oh this brings back memories!! This was my favourite cartoon as as child, I watched this in Cantonese dub *_* Thank you for uploading this~ I'd love to own this on DVD if only they'd release it! Patty is such an adorable character~ My Japanese is not so great, why did she have to leave Maple Town anyway?

  • It was her decision to go. Aunt Jane offered to take her to Palm Town, and she accepted; there were some hurt feelings (Bobby in particular, but it really hits home when she realizes how much her mother will miss her), but everything's patched up by the time she departs. And that song as the train's departing? It's called "Akogare no Basho", roughly "Where I Want To Be" (though I suppose an even rougher, more playful translation might be "My Favorite Place To Be" ^_^).

  • Thanks for the explanation there~ I just watched all 4 parts of this "movie" but this was not the episode I saw as a kid. It was further along the story. I remember Patty starting school in Palm Town and having a crush on her teacher who was leaving (he looked like a younger version of her dad XD) and another episode where Patty and Rolly get an art assignment and they don't show each other until the very end, turns out they both end up drawing themselves as brides. It was so sweet~

  • Yeah, this is the beginning, the very first ep (albeit slightly padded-out with a full-on flashback sequence).

Palm Town never aired in America, so the further adventures of Patty Hope-Rabbit and her new friend Rolley are mostly a mystery to me. Hopefully one day they'll release the whole series on DVD, and then maybe I'll be able to watch it in its entirety...

  • the episode you wrote about is one of my fave: Patty suggests to a famous Lion Director to cast her Teacher for a movie? :D

  • That was wonderful! Thanks ever so very much for posting this! I really enjoyed it! BTW, why wasn't Palm Town ever aired in the USA?

  • I've never seen that question definitively answered myself, but it's important to consider that Maple Town was, ultimately, a merchandise-driven show. Mind you, it also stood quite well on its own merits, but if the merchandise was underperforming - or if it was doing so well that the execs didn't want to upset the status quo by introducing a new series (it's why Transformers Animated figures didn't hit the shelves until months after the premiere) - it could've scuttled Palm Town's chances.

  • Or it could've just been random executive stupidity that kept the further adventures of Patty Hope-Rabbit off of U.S. airwaves. Another thing worth noting is that this premiere episode with Patty apparently having some...ROMANTIC feelings towards Rolley, which definitely wouldn't have flown back then (as far as I can tell, they cut the third episode of Maple Town from the U.S. airing, where Greter tries swapping an expensive package with a bomb and hilarity ensues when they get mixed up).

  • wow this my favourite cartoon .. but i se compare between arabic dub isn't compelety story after i saw this is full story .. thanks for you showing :) can you make a sheet to translet into english to understand :) i love it show

  • I have grand plans of one day fansubbing this. Unfortunately, my Japanese listening skills pale in comparison to my reading skills; the way most characters talk is nigh-incomprehensible to me (but then it might also be partly due to the sound quality, this being a rip from an old VHS and all).

    So I'll get back to you on that as soon as I've found someone who can transcribe the whole thing. ^_^;

  • Yahoo! Japan Auctions. Most auctions won't ship outside Japan, though, so you'll need a proxy service like Celga.

  • where the heck did you find this ?

  • Thank you for sharing, stranger. Maple Town ran in the USA, but its sequel Palm Town never did. What a shame.

  • Which reminds me: anybody know just how much of Maple Town aired in the U.S.? I know only a handful of episodes made it to VHS, and that the U.S. version skipped at least one episode ("The Stolen Silver Spoon", where Greter swaps a box containing the valuable utensil with a package bomb; hilarity ensues when the two get mixed up)...but I have no idea if the U.S. airing got as far as the finale (i.e. if Palm Town was ever even mentioned).

  • Unfortunately, I don't know how many episodes ran or if the final episode (with Patty leaving for Palm Town) ran. The episode guides currently in existence actually list the VHS titles as the episodes!

  • All right, thank you for the quick answering :)

  • Is the voice actor of Patty´s mum the same who was Chalon Polignac in Rose of Versailles? And why was Patty apologizing?

  • Yes, it's Reiko Mutou, but according to Pax-Koo's Homepage she was also voiced by Eiko Masuyama, another famous VA (Fujiko Mine from Lupin the 3rd and Go Nagai's eponymous Cutey Honey) in episodes 42 through 45. It's Reiko Mutou doing the voice here, though.

As for why she's apologizing, I'll need to watch it again. Gimme a bit.

  • Okay, this'd be easier if I had a transcript, but Patty overhears Marcel and Christine talking; Christine is basically saying how she's sad to see Patty leaving, and Patty bursts in apologizing for not thinking of their feelings. That's pretty much all I can work out; my Japanese listening skills are far from perfect.

  • Is Christina´s (Patty´s mum) voice actor the same who was Chalon Polignac in the Rose of Versailles? And why was Patty apologizing?

  • Oh and thanks for uploading.

  • You're welcome. ^_^

  • Oh, right. Italian bootleg dvds of palm town exist too. I'm just a little scared to spend all that money on any bootleg from italy.

    : P

  • "this is the only material from maple town's finale"

    you mean palm town?

In that case, you're wrong. Someone in italy has the series and tried to upload it as a torrent. They stopped seeding it last summer though. ughhwersdf23hawkldfjh. -_-#

  • I said "the only material available on video". The Japanese VHS release of Maple Town stops after 10 three-episode volumes (i.e. 30 episodes out of 52).

But let me know if they start seeding the series again.

  • You can get all the Maple town episodes in spanish.

  • this is so awesome i upload the dutch version of maple town (this is the last one that i w8 for final upload) its a shame that palm town never reached netherland and the sad part is that i dont understand this languege but thnx for uploading anyway 5/5 :')

  • I'd love to fansub this, but my Japanese listening skills aren't quite good enough. ^_^; If I had the script or a transcript to work with, though, it might well happen...

  • wel im watching prt 2 now and i know Maple town very good ( i work allot with it) so i think i can figure out what they r saying i do also a fansub (english for the english fans) but its just that i am so curies what happens in palm town :3

  • Makes two of us. This is a series that seriously needs more love, and unfortunately Toei seems content to leave it buried. We're coming up on the 25th Anniversary in a couple of years...we can only hope they deliver a DVD boxset.

Or better still (and more likely at this point!), that an American licensor decides to cash in on the current nostalgia craze and delivers Maple Town and Palm Town instead. The DVDs would be cheaper, for one.

  • true you don't wanna know how many people wanna see only Maple Town again if they bring a dvd box set from maple town and palm town that will be so awesome because there r dvd boxes from other old cartoons (don't know how they called in english) david de kabouter alfred j. kwak ect

  • My sources tell me the only official DVD release of Maple Town is over in Spain, where its title was "La Aldea Del Arce". I haven't heard about any plans to release elsewhere, even in Japan.

    But we can always hope.
