No cheats in use. Just a very high level character. Spent way too long playing without finishing the game. At level 40+ you will pretty much have 100% of whatever skill you want. The one I use the most is getting to 100 in destruction magic. Then go to the wizards tower and make fatigue spells. You can make drain fatigue spells at high level which can drain 100 point of fatigue for 5 seconds for example. This will nearly every enemy in the game collapse from fatigue. Easy kill after that

This is an old video. I have since changed most of the mods I use with newer version etc..

The armor is just Daedric Armor. Nothing special. As you level up everything in the game levels up too. At one point nearly everyone is wearing it so it's easy to get. This is one thing many players hate about oblivion is the uniform leveling system. This game is only lightly modded. The reason the player is so powerful is that he's around lvl 46 or so. (I played way too long with that one.)

Thank you. Actually this one is not that great. I did it a long time ago mainly as an experiment for a class I was teaching. Now I just leave it up to see how many views it will get. I have since done others in HD quality that turned out MUCH better and show some newer mods.

Oblivion is a great game and the mods make it endlessly enjoyable to tinker with.

It's been a while.  I think this video was mainly MMM, plus a bunch of smaller mods (arrow, lantern, blood etc..)

I have since added deadly reflex to the mix and its great.

I tried OOO a long time ago and found it much too hard for a new character and very frustrating. A common bandit could be a dozen levels higher than you and once you realize you can't win and run he'd follow you relentlessly until killing you.

MMM is amazing, especially the one with the bleeding and wounding that it has. It too has some frustration though and I had to modify it to my liking. Deadly Reflex is great too. Worth getting if you want to make the fighting more brutal.

No deadly reflex in this one. I made this a long time ago.

MMM adds monsters and items to the game to make it more interesting.

OOO changes almost every aspect of the game and makes it totally different than the original. It's excellently done, I just find it too hard personally.

Yes. Drain Fatigue. Once you can make your own spells, you can make ones like drain 100 fatigue for 4 seconds or something like that. Will bring nearly every enemy down making fights very easy.

I bought Gothic 3 thinking it would be similar. Not even close. buggy as hell and runs very poorly on a high spec system. I uninstalled it after a few hours of trying to get it to run decent without success. Oblivion is in a class by itself. Especially with the mod situation.

I think the weapon in most of the video is called the "Reaver Side Splitter". It's included in Mart's Monster Mod version 3.1. An awesome mod that adds all kinds of new monsters and effects like stumbling, bleeding, some new villains (reavers) and weapons. Really spices up the game.

why do u keep using that spell instead of juat killing them? what does it do, drain fatigue?

Yes, drain fatigue at high levels is nearly most powerful spell type in game. Especially if your guy is a fighter type and not magical. If the enemy's fatigue hits 0 at any point, they drop to the ground and lay there like slugs. Easy to beat. Also, low fatigue makes their hits do way less damage, and they are more likely to run away. Also it's fun to make them collapse too.

It's not so much about being good as building the right character and probably spending way too much time playing this game. Your guy just keeps getting stronger and stronger every hour you play. Pick the one or 2 skills your race excels at and only use them. They will build up fast. The char is this vid uses only blunt and destruction magic. Thats the key to a very powerful character. Using this trick you can beat pretty much anything in the game by level 20 or so. Lots of fun to play.

Yes, it's true most modern 3d games do not run well or at all on "garden variety" computers. A gaming oriented pc however has no problem running oblivion these days. In fact many fans of the game are pushing it well beyond the original content to use the increased power of their new pc rigs. High res textures, increased use of lighting, complex model mods etc are everywhere. That is what makes this game so special is the ability to push it farther than stock. Good game pc is pricey though.

Oblivion even though it's a couple of years old now, really beats on a computer. it takes very fast one to run it well. You may be able to run it as long as you have a decent video card with 256 mb ram or better. The mods really work the machine harder too because there's more of everything on the screen. More bad guys, trees, horses etc. All this stuff really brings a computer down unless it's very fast. Fun game though if you can run it. I've seen it cheap too, under 20 bucks. cheers.

the game in this video is modded. Marts monster mod version 3.1 i think. very cool mod, changes many things. the axe is the "reaver side splitter" a weapon taken from a dead reaver character (part of marts mod) they are very tough bandits that attack in large packs when you are high level. as far as the corruption problem, try setting you savegame backup in the oblivion.ini file to something like 3 instead of the default 1 and if a save gets corrupted, you have the 2 before it. cheers.

Hi, the game in the video is heavily modded from stock. There are too many mods to list, the main ones are: Mart's Monster Mod version 3.1, Valeria companion mod, and Natural Environments. The video settings are customized to take advantage of the Geforce 8800. (higher LOD distances and lighting/shadow/specular options.) This card can take a lot of abuse.  Some mods are custom made like blood graphics, and some AI scripting changes to make weaker enemies run away instead of fight.

well, that hapens to me alot of times, and that means one of the mods is corrupt or you didnt download it propaly so you have to go to data files (on the oblivion start up screen) and get rid of them one by one till you find the corrupt one :D

no, i checked it all :) but i found the problem: the "Büchermod" wich makes the books better, is not just installed by putting textures and stuff in, but its with an exe. i removed oblivion and the content of the büchermod, but i forgot to deinstall the mod. this is what crashed it :) now i can play

The mod is Mart's Monster Mod version 3.1 I think. It's a huge mod that adds tons of new monsters, bandits, smugglers, etc.. to the original game. It's like a 300 meg download but well worth it. Add so much to the game.

Video card is Gforce 8800 320meg GTS version, and settings are nearly maxed with some mods to ini file for increasing lighting distances, shadow distance etc... Game looks great to play. YouTube version is compressed and looks terrible, but the real game looks amazing and runs great. Of course I'm using a 100 or so mods as well.
