  • @ignoranttwat: your username and comment both state just how open minded you are

  • American Black Metal is piss. Pretty much the only decent stuff going on there is Panopticon and Lakes of Blood.

  • nossa cara...fico emocionado quando escuto essa banda!!!

    muito boa!!!

  • Pick up the CD at paganflames (dot) com

  • post rock black metal is getting boring

  • Fuck nsbm

  • @Immolation333: Due to the fact that you obviously don't know what you're talking about, I'm going to prove you wrong by showing you some great black metal from Europe:

Deathspell omega, summoning, Drudkh, Alcest, Ulver, Negura Bunget, enslaved, Amosseur, Bathory, blut aus Nord, dissection

  • @yoyosareawesome1 Modern euro black metal has been almost complete shit, Americans are leading the pack this time around.

  • @yoyosareawesome1 He said right now, not back in the day. He's talking about the current time. He is correct too, you don't know what you're talking about because you didn't even read his statement correctly.

  • Dornenreich = Austria, not Germany ;).

  • @Pestzyklus I've been listening to Alcest nonstop lately. Thanks for the other recommendations buddy!

  • @immolation333 If you like Alcest, you should check this other band he plays guitar in called "Amesoeurs", its great stuff.

  • ideals of anarchy? music+, ideology- : don`t make the same mistake like in europe, it is good music, good post rock black metal, but anarchist black metal - i don`t think so!

  • Geirrod and Agnar set to sea. Sons of King Hraudung they were. Their oars kissed the water above where Jormagund sleeps. They cast off their baited hooks.

  • The clouds gathered above in the heavens. Their luck in the catch left them unaware

Caught amidst storm and far off shore,as the serpent thrashed at the ocean floor.

wave upon wave they held strong, pulled further and further from shore, brave hearted, strong sons of the north, they would see land once more......

They awoke dashed against the rocks, weary and bruised from the journey. They gathered themselves searching for shelter. In the distance they saw a column of smoke........

  • They greeted at the door by a simple farmer and his wife. They were and fed and given shelter as they stayed the winter through.

The farmer was wise and good, and he cared for geirrod. His wife grew close with Agnar, who began to see her as his mother.

There was darkness in Geirrod's heart, selfishness and hate. As winter drew nigh to an end their fathers kingdom did await. They braved the sea on their journey home .Geirrod's heart was full of deceit ,as he stepped upon the shore he pushed his

  • Their father passed in their absence the throne was empty, Geirrod was now king........

Odin watched from Asgard and smiled upon his work:for he was the farmer and Frigg, the wife who had cared for them in the cold.

Agnar had grown into a man,a giantess he wed. Odin scoffed at young Agnar saying Geirrod was a better man......

  • Geirrod was a ruthless king and he ruled his people with hate. Frigg contested Odin's claim and they sought the boys again.......

Frigg sent word into Geirrod's kingdom,of a powerful sorcerer making his way

cloaked in rags,Odin came, unaware of the fires that await. Odin called himself Grimnir and was seized, placed between 2 fires and bound in chains. 8 nights in the sweltering heat. But the God would not be slain........

  • Geirrod's had a son 8 winters old named Agnar for his fathers brother.

he freed Grimnir and gave him a full horn to drink as griminess cloak was smoldering.

Geirrod sat , sword on his knee, half drawn from its sheath. When he heard of Odin, he rose to take him from the fire.

The sword slipped and fell hilt down. he fell upon the sword. Then Odin vanished, and Agnar was crowned a king forever more...........

  • I totally agree with everyone saying American black metal is really at the forefront of black metal genre. While the European scene created so many fantastic musicians like Burzum, Darkthrone, and Enslaved, it is very stagnant. There is no innovation or progression.

The American scene is, however, progressing. Its writing about new material, avoiding the Satanic cliches and creating its own sound. I feel artists like Panopticon breath new life into a suffocating beast.

  • Incredible!

  • the guitars in this are so post rock

  • tools

  • Simplemente vacan como un transe

  • american black metal sucks. so fake.

  • Goddamn I love Austin's music.

  • aguante el metal anarquista !

  • American black metal is really leading the pack right now. Euros can't seem to get over the "evil" imagery and bullshit neo-fascism. Not that some of the bands inspired by that stuff havent made some great music, but it's limiting progression of the genre. The Americans are looking past the facades and tapping exploring more of the possibilities. Really good shit right here!

  • @immolation333 Agreed.

  • @AnarchoBlackCrust Agreed x2

  • @immolation333

If you actually think that you have missed a ton of quality and unique releases, i.e. Ruins of Beverast et al.

  • @immolation333 Holy shit, said so well.

  • @immolation333

Clearly you haven't been paying attention the the European underground for the past decade... Although, America is creating black metal, Europe is creating better black metal.

  • @Cridant1 No, it isn't. Even though France and Germany are putting out some fantastic black metal these days, the scene in Norway (the epitome of black metal) has all but stagnated. And the majority of black metal bands in Europe in general simply play the same Darkthrone/Burzum riffs over and over while prancing about in corpse paint.

  • @immolation333 Now come on. You cant say there arent ALOT of bs american black metal bands

  • @immolation333 But, are you talking about the Whole America (North, Center and South America) or only about USA? I make this question because people tends to think that just USA is America.

  • @immolation333 there are many good "evil" and neo-fascist bands like Nokturnal Mortum, Burzum, Drudkh, Satanic Warmaster, Temnozor, Walknut, YGG, Negura Bunget, Kroda, Graveland, Moonblood etc

  • @immolation333 THE FRENCH TOO!!!! Bands like blut aus nord and alcest are taking the genre leaps and bounds ahead of these lame ass bands of which you speak.

  • @immolation333 nsbm and anarchist/red bm (being social-communitarian) are both miles away from the original satanic/individualistic/romantic themes of BM. Just a thought. Anyway I like this band.

  • holy shit..,that's one of the best tracks i*ve heard this year!5/5

  • one of the best bands ive heard.. and its anarchist !!! hell yeah,, fuck nazis fuck that bullshit..

    long live Panopticon

  • Your best chance of finding Panopticon material is checking in with LUNDR Records; that's Austin's label, and the home of Panopticon, Wheels Within Wheels, and my band Blood of Martyrs \,,/

  • Probably the best place to find Panopticon material is on LUNDR Records...that's Austin's label; also home to Wheels Within Wheels and my band Blood of Martyrs \,,/

  • CTM EL TEMA ME DEJO PA LA KGA WN

  • Fucking wonderful lyrics, even better music!

  • damn i love this guy.

his music is so spiritual/angry/beautiful at the same time! and he mixes two things i love, first is black metal, and second is the ideals of anarchy!

great that there's someone like this :)

  • I am overwhelmed by this as well! Finally some ballsy black metal that ISN'T linked to fascism! Finally some metal that isn't militaristic far right wing racist crap! And musically divine!

  • @drummerofwrongway totally agree

  • man where do you buy this? i can't find it anywhere!

  • you wont find it anywhere, but i heard early 2010 it will be re-released on "A's" own label. i've been trying to find this shit too but no luck, cant wait for it

  • yeah man,i'm havin the same problem!!! and i'm gettin crazy, because this band (or,i should say one-man band, right??)is really great!!!! both, because of music and contents!

  • PAGAN FLAMES POSSIBLY.

  • try small distros, unless it distributed online. Haven't looked into it.

  • Not sure, I'm trying to buy some of this as well, but try the Pagan Flames page.

  • This is incredible, and I agree with the Sigur Ros/Mono influences. Sounds alot like Mono mixed with Black Metal.

  • I'm hearing some Sigur Ros influences......

  • I am Grimnir

  • Noooooo, I AM GRIMNIR HEY! :D

  • This song is what metal could be if it just slowed up and let the sonic vibes hit you.

BTW, I am a son of Odin, and my last name is Grimnir in Gothic/Germanic.

    You are too??

  • the sound of the drums in the background..just amazing!

  • @LithYaz yeah dude, the production is really well done!

  • What a great track, fucking love it.
