@cocusflute Thanks, I'm glad it was useful... I'm just trying to share back what I've learn t from others... About the music... I'm not so expert at makiing education videos, just something I like, a little creative. Have a look at the more recent videos on peening, two or so years newer than this one... perhaps its better, I've had a bit more practice at video and peening this then ?
@JonathanZeidman because as you peen the blade it tends to start sticking out, which often catches onto the grass as you are moving the scythe back to take another cut, so the blade is a little heavier, caught up with the grass and the grass isn't put so nicly on one side.
As Botan Anderson the guy who kindly shared this method of peening reminding me. With poor quality hammer or anvil its much more to get the results he and I are showing in these videos.
I got a bit of practice peening over 60 or so new blades over about a month... trying cheapo hammers and trying high quality equipment the results were better, and easier (thanks). Good equipment helps as well as good method and patcience. If are close to Botan, and you get a chance to go visit Botan on a course

Very helpful. It would be MUCH better without the accompanying music. I don't get it. Why ruin a helpful video by having the radio on?

Excellent! I've read a few books about how to do this, but books don't really compare to actually watching someone peen a blade.
