@SilentBat We're in the final stretch of editing but special effects have slowed us down. All CGI is finished, but implementing it with the live-action shots has become a huge monster. We are actively seeking volunteers to help with compositing and roto-scoping.

i dont watch action movies for the comedy then again if done right it dosnt hurt.... i think it "could" be great.... all the visual effects are great and all the camera angles are great it looks kick ass the plot

is the hardest part cause if you get to far in to the story ie the original trilogy and or the rest of the saga it can totaly rune it

then again it depends on your angle if it is something like RVD then there all golden cause where two people happen to have lightsabers

Well Sandrima Rising doesn't take place during any of the films. It is completely seperate era from them. The only thing it has to do with the others is that its in the Star Wars Universe.

I don't really see why George Lucas would show much interest in this as a Star Wars series, considering he's already told the public what the live action series will be like: Deadwood meets The Sopranos, in between episodes 3 and 4, and no Jedi or Sith whatsoever. You made something, which is commendable to an extent, I just don't see how this would be worth Lucas' time.

Imagine how it'd play out if the studios used that kind of logic on everything else. "Why do another Star Gate? We already have the one." "Star Trek: Deep Space Nine? Why? We already did a show. Who needs to capitalize on a franchise that will never run out of steam?" But you're right. We are at a disadvantage, which is why we need the community support from people like YOU! So get the word out and let's make this happen :)

"Worn out slander?" lol Right then. I think this project looks kind of fun, but I don't understand the whole "it's a pitch for a TV show" thing, that's all. It's not original enough for that. I would suggest thicker skin because you're bound to hear "firefly ripoff" many more times and the reason just might be that it's a good assessment of what we're seeing here. In any case, good luck with the project.

Thanks. I just found it secretly awesome that you decided to post twice that it's not cool enough to be a TV pitch. So this idea's not foreign an idea enough to pitch to Lucas, but a billion different ways to talk about the Clone Wars is? There's a difference between thin skin and counter-arguments: Firefly's not the first space western, won't be the last, and shouldn't disqualify this show. If anything, it could give the lost and lonely Firefly fans who don't have anything to watch right now.

Why not pitch something more original? This is Star Wars and Firefly minus the budget and effects team, tossed into a blender. I don't think George Lucas would be interested in a series that was basically a remake of Firefly in the Star wars universe.  I mean, even down to the guy calling his ship a "boat." C'mon...

This is the second post you've made, saying the exact same thing and neglecting to mention that Firefly was CANCELLED, leaving thousands of fans wanting more. What you should be asking yourself is "firefly...star wars...WHY DIDN'T I THINK OF THIS?!"

That said, the script was written back in 2001. I think that gets it a pass from the old, worn out slander "this is a Firefly rip-off." But I'll tell you what, you go do better and come back and talk to us. How about that?
