@scsti2005 This is achieavble without engine mods. I have an 06 sti and can 0-100km/h in 5.3 seconds. COmpletely stock at the moment. With a new chip, exhaust, downpipe, and boost controller, 0-100 in 4 seconds is very achieavble.

Either way, I am with you, I highly doubt a 295hp/309torque rated can get anywhere near 3.8 seconds 0-60. It just isn't possible unless the car weighs like 1,000lbs MAX. Which, an STI weighs about 3,500lbs with the driver and gas... So I think the simple explanation of this video is that it was done DOWNHILL. FAKE.

Dude two days ago at the Asian market me n this dude in an sti (sedan) went head to head I have a stock g35 n I actually kept up with him I was on his ass the whole time....if it wasn't for that turbo.....
I timed it with a stopwatch, took the average and, supposing the speedo is accurate, got within a tenth or so of the claimed 3.8 sec. Downhill, tail wind blahblahblah...he did it in less than 4 seconds, stop saying, "closer to 5...", learn to use a stop watch, instead of counting in your head.
I'm sorry I keep counting five seconds. I even got my handy little stopwatch I use for the guys down in Hartford and I keep getting 4.8 - 5.2. Either way it's a five second STi man, that's sick enough to impress me.
@BillyClark860 i got exactly 3.8 with my stop watch... are you timing from when you hear the car or when the needle actually moves from 0? With the mods he has this is clearly much closer to 4 than 5....

@makipsee I agree...at the wheels is where it counts. I also had my dyno pulls done on an AWD Mustang Dyno which reads low compared to other dynos. Actual at the wheels probably in the 320 whp range if I were to do a pull on some Dynos according to the very experienced tuner who tuned my car.
I timed this with a stopwatch 3 times. 3.77 sec, 3.77 sec and the third one, trying to time the start of the speedo, I jumped the gun and still came up with 3.98 sec. Take that, with all wheel drive and I'll go ahead and call this legit.

Problem with this vid is it just shows the speedo and not the tach. You can here the wheels slip before the speedo starts moving. You can't tell exactly when the car starts. I would also put this around 5 sec give or take a few tenths.

Dude two days ago at the Asian market me n this dude in an sti (sedan) went head to head I have a stock g35 n I actually kept up with him I was on his ass the whole time....if it wasn't for that turbo.....

Yeah I timed from exactly when he hit 1mph and got 4.2 so I guess that's an improvement. Never the less it's still a badass STi. :P

I timed it with a stopwatch, took the average and, supposing the speedo is accurate, got within a tenth or so of the claimed 3.8 sec. Downhill, tail wind blahblahblah...he did it in less than 4 seconds, stop saying, "closer to 5...", learn to use a stop watch, instead of counting in your head.

I'm sorry I keep counting five seconds. I even got my handy little stopwatch I use for the guys down in Hartford and I keep getting 4.8 - 5.2. Either way it's a five second STi man, that's sick enough to impress me.

@BillyClark860 i got exactly 3.8 with my stop watch... are you timing from when you hear the car or when the needle actually moves from 0? With the mods he has this is clearly much closer to 4 than 5....

in regards to the last few comments...no this isnt a fake video...i wouldnt waste my time making a fake video...in fact feel free to watch my other vid which shows my car i made for the doubters...and no the car is not on nitrous...the turbo is stock(one that came on the sti),but the car is of course not stock...the hp numbers i listed are at the wheels...my sti is putting out close to 400 hp at the motor which accounts for the 0-60 mph time...thanks

@makipsee thats the horsepower at the wheels... its a 2005 STI...drivetrain loss on these AWD cars is around 23% The motor is putting out close to 400hp..

@makipsee I agree...at the wheels is where it counts. I also had my dyno pulls done on an AWD Mustang Dyno which reads low compared to other dynos. Actual at the wheels probably in the 320 whp range if I were to do a pull on some Dynos according to the very experienced tuner who tuned my car.

I timed this with a stopwatch 3 times. 3.77 sec, 3.77 sec and the third one, trying to time the start of the speedo, I jumped the gun and still came up with 3.98 sec. Take that, with all wheel drive and I'll go ahead and call this legit.

I'm confused... Did you tune the turbo? Are you using methane instead of 91-93 octane? Impressive time man. My friend is getting the new sedan sti. Can't wait to race him with my 2.7t audi. (mine is tunes of course :) )

@bacvain Yes the car is tuned and the boost generated by the turbo has been increased to over 20lbs, but yes its the original turbo that came on the car from the factory.

Problem with this vid is it just shows the speedo and not the tach. You can here the wheels slip before the speedo starts moving. You can't tell exactly when the car starts. I would also put this around 5 sec give or take a few tenths.

@0220SVTFOCUS I don't really care if the claim is true, if it is gratz to it's owner, but based on my experience of cars like the 430hp Audi R8 AWD 4.4 sec, the 632 hp Lamborghini Murcielago LP640 3.8 sec, and the 03 605hp Porsche Carrara GT 3.8. Now I realize that these aren't all AWD cars, but they are are specifically made to go mind-numbingly fast. I'd believe low-to-mid 4s, but 3.8? dunno, but truthfully I don't care. I find it interesting that you're all bent out of shape though.

@komputernut When the wheels move the speedo moves.... There might be a slight audio delay with the camera, but I don't see any wheel spin in this video. What I think you mistakenly hear is him not dropping the clutch hard. His car hit 60mph somewhere between 3.6~4.0... btw, have you ever launched a vehicle with a manual transmission, or do you just drive slushboxes?
