Better to be Marshall than play your entire season with all that hype only to lose to a 4 win Pitt at home. WVU and the entire Big East are atrocious. I don't know about you, but if you ignor the comments of some drunk fans this is a pretty good recording. Wow Marshalls band sounds good. Oh and WVU's band sounded good too. Both bands represent our state well. I have had the luxury of marching with both bands. I am glad to see that Jay is director. I was with the pride back when he was a G.A. Good Job. And DR. All schools, no matter where you go have their share of unclassy fans. Now you could argue that WVU has a larger share, but I think at the root of it is economics and the state being so poor. Plus our school getting bottom of the barrel students from other states who couldn't get into their own state schools.
Yes, I'll admit it, most all of my friends are in MU's band. But I have friends in WVU's band, too. Both bands are full of proficient players and marchers. Why can't we just leave the bands out of the "sports" rivalries?
I go to WVU and I'm wondering what the hell your beef is with the band? They didn't lose to WVU, their job is to play, which is what they were doing. Obviously you know nothing about student organizations. The kids in the band are there to play and that is what they are doing.
HERDFAN2227...It's called a fund raiser. Teams and bands that have a program that people actually want to give their money to have them. Colleges all over the nation, affectionately known as non-profits, have them as a source of funding with the double bonus of using that fund raising as a tax write off... Green blood has to be an indication of some state of disease.

Hopefully you can do something with that engineering degree because pretending that you play a part in WVU's wins or losses won't get you anywhere. Cuz I'm pretty sure that WVU's team doesn't even know who you are.
If WVU makes it to the title game, it won't be because of them winning (a single loss on such a weak schedule would doom them), but because of enough other teams in the top 5 losing, which is entirely possible given the difficulty of the schedules. In such a situation, they'd better win or keep it close, because it would be a difficult dive from which to recover, from a publicity standpoint.
If WVU makes it to the title game, it WILL be a direct result of 1) us winning (12-0), 2) Some of the teams ahead of us losing (USC, OSU, Auburn, Michigan, etc), and 3) an improved Big East that is currently 16-5 vs out-of-conference foes. My Prediction is the Big East lands 2 teams in the BCS this year - both WVU & Louisville.
WVU fan's are some of the most passionate in the nation, as for the couch burning lable, it happens everywhere, at OSU, VT, everywhere, and as far as drunk idiots, I'm sure WVU is the only University where students get wasted. Good try though.
The fact is WVU is #4 in the nation and has Natioanl Title aspirations, and rival teams like VT, Pitt, UMD, and wannabe rival MooU are jealous.

Until you play teams with "National Title aspirations," I don't think you can be considered a national title contender. I know its a rivalry and both colleges hate each other,however,being born and raised in the great state of West Virginia,I can say that both schools have done the state proud. Both bands represent our state well. I have had the luxury of marching with both bands. I am glad to see that Jay is director. I was with the pride back when he was a G.A. Good Job. And DR. If WVU makes it to the title game, it won't be because of them winning (a single loss on such a weak schedule would doom them), but because of enough other teams in the top 5 losing, which is entirely possible given the difficulty of the schedules. In such a situation, they'd better win or keep it close, because it would be a difficult dive from which to recover, from a publicity standpoint.

If WVU makes it to the title game, it WILL be a direct result of 1) us winning (12-0), 2) Some of the teams ahead of us losing (USC, OSU, Auburn, Michigan, etc), and 3) an improved Big East that is currently 16-5 vs out-of-conference foes. My Prediction is the Big East lands 2 teams in the BCS this year - both WVU & Louisville.

WVU fan's are some of the most passionate in the nation, as for the couch burning lable, it happens everywhere, at OSU, VT, everywhere, and as far as drunk idiots, I'm sure WVU is the only University where students get wasted. Good try though.
The fact is WVU is #4 in the nation and has Natioanl Title aspirations, and rival teams like VT, Pitt, UMD, and wannabe rival MooU are jealous.

Didn't you guys drop VT from your schedule? Too scared? What about Miami (3-16 against them?) If you are such a powerhouse, why don't you play OSU (0-2,) Penn State (the impecable 9-48-2 record doesn't mean anything does it,) Notre Dame (still can't beat those lousy Irish, 0-4.) Are you still sulking that VT, BC, and Miami left the Big East to move on to bigger and better things...

Until you play teams with "National Title aspirations," I don't think you can be considered a national title contender. Much like Marshall is not a national title contender...oh, am I being a fan of the game? Am I saying that we aren't that great? Hmmm, knowing the truth and agreeing with it? Wow, I still cheer for the Herd, but I am not blinded by the trivial inhibitions that my team can beat anyone.

We play Tennessee next week...you guys have ECU...good luck, I hope you win so you can come back here and throw in our faces how much better you are than we are and how much we suck and how great your team is against teams that are unranked and have never been a football power. When you play a national championship schedule like the Big Ten, Big 12, Pac 10, and ACC (half of your old opponents when you couldn't win the Big East) then talk to me, but until you do, talk about band on a band video.

wow you play 1...Penn State played Notre Dame (at the time #2,) plays OSU (#1,) plays Michigan (just beat the #2 team all ready mentioned,) plays Michigan St. who beat the crap out of your heated rival, and you guys play...Eastern Washington and one "contender." I don't think you can get through 3 contenders. So these ludicrous requirements aren't that ludicrous when you play in a decent conference with copious numbers of quality teams.
