  • great voice great arrangement!!!!!!!******great tone and vibrato!!!!!!!******I was taught to praise quality and is g r e a t quality!!!!!!!!ROGHARM

  • despite a slightly slow tempo, this is one of the best acted versions of this song (Carefully Taught) I've seen on YouTube

  • you got to be carefully taught is an amazing song, especially

when you consider when it was written. Almost as amazing is

the version from the movie is not among the numerous version. That song is so important that all version of it should be on You Tube.

  • Cable has a great voice :)

  • Wonderful production, my college is putting this on soon and I'm auditioning this weekend for Cable

  • finally a version tht shows the whole

  • I can't understand why people are so critical of a high school production. You people act like this is supposed to be professional quality. Don't you understand that these are just high school students and that high school directors have to make the best of the students they work with? Do you people have any idea of what high school teachers get paid to direct musicals? Give these people a break! From a teacher who has directed South Pacific recently at a high school, I say GREAT JOB!

  • ^^ I agree. He defintely can sing. But it was too harsh and loud at times. But the guy playing Joe Cable is the best actor in this.

  • Is that Borat singing Rodgers and Hammerstein? I like it!

  • She is a screaching bore of an actress. This is an acting performance from hell-saved only by a credible vocal performance!

  • ugh the gray hair is ridiculous. and nellie could use a bit more inductuve tone rather than always going all out. it kinda ruins this scene. it could be more beautiful. lol. we did this musical couple days ago. im liat WOOT.

  • are these ´actors´ making fun here or what?

  • Emile should be a bass-baritone, or at least an older baritone. The person cast is completely inappropriate for the role. The timbre is far too high, and he sounds far too young. The fake greying hair is quite hilarious, lol. I wouldn't say that Joe Cable is the entire show. The way it has been written, the focus is quite balanced between the three main characters...

  • i love the joe cable in this, but emile is supposed to be a baritone...this one doesnt even come close, and the french accent is overdone, especially in the song

  • Emile IS a Baritone, but because of a stronger higher range, we opted to take some of the songs up the octave rather than down- it's just a different approach to the performance and the character.

  • Do you have a video of "younger than springtime"?

  • Cable, you've got a decent voice but don't use it as a crutch. You've lost the song in the singing--The tempo is so slow it seems as though you're more concerned with showing us your voice than with communicating the message that is the heart of the show.

  • why is "carefully taught" taken at half tempo? it should have a sweeping 1 feel... not a 3 like a waltz. Cable sings it really well, i'd like to ask the music director why they slowed it down so much. It could have become a marvelous acting piece, but this is a little odd. it would have been a nice juxtaposition to "this nearly was mine," as well, the sudden slow of the tempi.

  • just recently saw another high school attempt this show...the high school that attempted it had a nice auditorium and great resouces, but if you don't have the perfect Emile and Nellie, you have nothing. Farrell players should be applauded on their casting of Emile, (it seems that Nellie has a bit of an accent, but it works) and Nellie is good. But the heart of this show is Joe Cable, and just from what I saw, this Joe Cable IS Joe Cable

  • Thanks! If you liked this one you should check out the others...

  • Really... Americans have lost the plot........in 50 years..God help us all

  • I've been looking for some of these songs online and THIS is the best way to hear them, while watching an excellent stage production.

  • Stunning!
