  • Not a single bad track on the LP.

  • @Kelly14UK and the dude who composed the joint just died today, john barry. =(

  • Anyone know who plays bass on this? Sounds like John Paul Jones.

  • VERY rare song! Thanks for putting this up! That scene was freaky. Jon Voight is an often overlooked actor, one of the best of the 1970s

  • that was fuuuuunkay..:)

  • now thats some serious groove baby!

  • Billy Ray was a preacher's son

  • Which one's the queen of diamonds?

  • Another point of interest here is that the song was written (as "She Quit Me") by Warren Zevon, a good few years before anybody had heard of him.

  • Really? Did actually he record a version?

  • I haven't heard the album myself (and it isn't well rated, though I tend not to pay to much attention to critics, and I believe Warren himself was pretty pleased with it), but yes, it's on "Wanted Dead Or Alive", his 1969 album that pretty much sank without a trace.

  • Funky!

This song is one of the reasons why I brought the Midnight Cowboy soundtrack.

  • The very beginning of this vid has an intro from the film GATOR. Now, you are one hip YouTuber! Thanx 4 the post.

  • midnight cowboy is also my favorite movie thanks for posting this

  • Thanks a lot for putting this on Youtube. Does anyone know where I can get this song online without a subscription? No luck on itunes or amazon.

  • tough one. try limewire.

  • An mp3 of "He Quit Me" is available now on Amazon.

    Just 99 cents!

  • I've always loved this song and how well it complements that scene in the film. Midnight Cowboy has been a favorite of mine for a long time. It's a shame Lesley Miller has never gained the notoriety that some of her contemporaries did. She had success in commercials, though, from what I've read. I think I heard that she sang in the "Milk" (aka "Milk Crisis" on YouTube) film that was shown on Sesame Street for years.

  • Thanks for that. I think she was overshadowed by UK luminaries like Lulu and Dusty. But she sounds great on this. I'll check Milk Crisis out!

  • So, the source of the nowdays grooves's styles!!
