  • actually going to force my children to listen to the strokes!!!

  • Thumbs Up ones have grown up listening to The libertines and The Strokes :D

  • Excellent !!

  • Oh my god. Can't breath when i hear this song :')

  • Good music transcends language.

  • @mrsxierox9 true

  • @notnamedjohn. I completely agree man I heard them for the first time a few years ago and I thought they were older like late 70s to the 90s and with all the stuff they play on the radio today I just assumed that they had broken up like all the other good bands but now that I know they still make music I'm just like any other #1 fan stalking their albums

  • the strokes é muito foda uma das melhoores bandas atualmente !!

  • @NotNamedJohn i think the best description of their sound is how one of the band members (can't remember which one) described angles as a sound that mixes the 1970s with the future. 1970's rock + the future = The Strokes

  • I read the lyrics out loud to my creative writing class, because these words really speak to me.

  • It will never happen, but imagine the Ramones covering this . . . ..

  • @robkola the ramones are awesome

  • @xXRoMpEcAmInOsXx They are and always will be - still I would have loved to hear them cover this . . . think it would be legendary

  • @robkola Yeah . Seems that this band has some ramones as their influence. Also the singer kinda reminds me joey ramone

  • The Strokes = Awesome. :)

  • The bitrate is utter dogshit.

  • its not the 10th song on the album

  • lol joy division and the strokes made r/music's frontpage today

    you are all plebs

    love /mu/

  • @misterbuckethead wats r/music?

  • @DavidFrat123 gtf on Reddit noob.

  • @iheartyoursoul fuck up

  • @misterbuckethead Love you too, /mu/.

  • How can an album not sound "modern and fresh" in a mere decade?

  • Yeah the sound editing is terrible..

  • @Michaelmop You are pretty stupid.

  • @iheartyoursoul You are pretty pretty.

  • @Michaelmop O_O

  • Cool, thanks for starting the video halfway through the song. Awesome!

  • yes it is hard

  • hond!

  • I remember that when I was six, my mom had this album (because my mom's cool) and I always laughed at the stop at 1:46.

We had the version without "New York City Cops"

  • @BBall0027 you're lucky!

  • @BBall0027 OH GOD I WANT YOUR FUCKING CHILDHOOD.

  • Thats Julian's ass!!!

  • beautiful ass and beautiful snatch what a problems go to hell but great song one of better song well good bye

  • i'm just going to think of that as a knee.

  • poor editing ruins it.

  • damnit, at 1:47 I always think that my PC froze

  • 4 people found it hard to explain..

  • This song is too damn short.

  • I like the Strokes original work better than their newer crap such as "Juicebox".

  • @gXKarma Well Juicebox is different, and the Strokes are all about having totally different sounding songs, personally Juicebox is one of my favorites.

  • @peterismazin The Killers are extremely american and proud of their roots in Las Vegas, It is true that their music caught on in the UK first, but to say that the UK owns them is completely untrue. Most of their inspiration comes from Las Vegas, such as the Sam's Town and Day & Age albums. Even Brandon's solo album was dedicated to the street he grew up on in Vegas. They also have said in interviews that they don't like being labelled British, so stop trying to claim bands for the UK

  • this should be the best song of the Is this It disc?

  • still good.

  • This is the question proposed by MJ'S This is it.

  • @Just8eatit what question is that?

  • @harropt89 lol it was a lame joke, i meant the albums title "is this it?"

  • blah blah blah........

    i have opinions....

blah blah blah ..... i'll make it seem like i know what im talking about,

    blah!

  • The band makes me proud to be American!

They're the ONLY good band the US has to offer!

They're so amazing.. I can't even describe it

Julian and the band are amazing

  • @williammoseleyfan101 haha what about the killers!!??

  • @rkscuba210 - THey are amazing too!!!

O yeah.. The Killers are from the US.. my bad

  • @rkscuba210 The Strokes and The Killers all day baby!!

  • @rkscuba210 the killers kinda rejected your country,

britian adopted them, and they are ours.

  • @peterismazin you are not as mazin as you think...

  • Best band ever hands down T__T Just as awesome as tits.

  • These lyrics are genius enough to be archived as one of America's greatest literatures.

  • It's been nearly ten years... Damn... Time flies by

  • I love this song so much!

  • in all honesty this song is sheer kick ass

  • kidbk313 i couldnt have put it in better words 99.7 percent of todays bands suck

  • I was making a list of their best songs, I got half way through and closed it. Because I realized that all their songs are good. ;)

  • all time greatest break-up song, 4 me anyway

  • just awesome.

  • the strokes are modern but yet at the same time retro...they are a tattoo etched in time. Music today can not compare.

  • Nearly a decade after the release of this album, it still sounds fresh and modern. The Strokes were so revolutionary. New bands which are emerging now, in 2010, are STILL trying to copy the Strokes and capture that "garage rock revival" sound. So many people try but nobody does it as well as Julian and the boys.

  • yes this album is still fresh, probably one of my favorite in the decade. i also love i want to be forgotten on their second album. but i think the raveonettes can do it better check hallucinations and dead sound those songs are master pieces of garage rock

  • @KidBk313 sooo true

  • @KidBk313 YOU THINK

  • @KidBk313 Couldnt agree with you more. The strokes....Is this it....Is the best album i've herd in the last 20 years of music. Certainly the most iconic. The truly did save Rock 'n' Roll and played the biggest part in reviving the Punk/Gargae movement. All hale these musical Gods. They truly are amazing

  • @KidBk313 the white stripes have it pretty damn well too, id say

  • @KidBk313 you hit the nail on the head perfectly! good call man

  • @KidBk313 Im just now being exposed to this band becasue I saw them with Pearl Jam last night. And I dug them, but mainly because they sound so much like Queens of the Stone Age, who acutually played right before them. Being that Queens came out before them, IMO you might wanna revise your "revolutinary" statement. Because alot of older Queens sounds just like The Strokes to a fucking tee.

  • mmmmmmm

  • I say the right things, but act the wrong way,

I like it right here, but I can not stay.

I watch the TV, forget what I'm told,

well Iam too young and they are too old.

Oh man, can't you see, I'm nervous, so please,

pretend to be nice, so I can be mean!

I missed the last bus, we'll take the next train,

I try, but you see, it's hard to explain.
