One of the great joys is coming across wonderful piano playing by pianists 10 years ago we never would have heard. How nice the pianist himself shares his performance here with us, and clearly we are fortunate he chose to do so.
I have to say I clicked on this link by accident (while looking for the Eb major etude) and simply couldn't stop listening. I was supposed to prepare and play this piece last year and somehow never got around to it....but am now reinspired to do so. Very nice voicing in both hands and beautiful, full-bodied sound throughout, perfect and essential for Rachmaninoff. Thank you for playing and posting.
Very well played. Great voicing in the left hand.
Not that I'm one to judge, but you swung the large arrival of the Db section at the top of the third page. Not that this was wrong, just unusual. Not how Horowitz would have played it (I imagine his interpretation was your inspiration).
I absolutely loved your interpretation of the ascending chords after that though. I really could feel the romance in this piece. I loved it.
Thank you. Such variety of expression. You really understand this piece & stimulate our imagination by not indulging in over-emphasis. A breath of fresh air.

Weak climax...maybe it's just the recorder.
and you really need that note on 4:22.
