The one thing i hate when it comes to Resident Evil is that,you can't move when aiming the gun and yet they still havent resolved that issue in any sequel.....what a joke!

Resident Evil 3 was the last GOOD Resident Evil game. The franchise is really being milked right now with the upcoming Operation Raccoon City action-shooter for COD kids.

@orven1995 well tbh resident evil 3 was the finishing off of the racoon city epidemic. it gave closure as to what happened to the city and also jill's escape. so it was crucial that re3 was made. code veronica was showin you what claire and chris were doing in umbrellas europe branch. then they released re4 which was total bullshit and had nothing to do with umbrella. THAT should have been made a side story and code veronica number 4.

Staple survival horror games. The purest of the genre itself.
Every action is about survival. gather items, conserve your ammo, time your attacks, plan your confrontations, etc.
Everything you're doing involves the struggle of keeping yourself alive.
...too bad in games today we have 2 second checkpoints and the "vita chambers" so who cares about surviving anymore know a death only means 2 inches back.

@nuuuukii Wtf, Mikami was the one who decided to change it. And RE4 was originally going to be developed for PS2 before Mikami made a deal with Nintendo, and it changed to being Gamecube exclusive. It looks better on Gamecube becase its a more powerful console. You need to type clearer. Regardless, RE4 was announced for PS2 even before they released it on Gamecube. Shinji Mikami is a bit of a whiny bitch thats why he left.

Listening to this music really brings back memories of when I first played this game! Bring back zombies for the next game.

@mackemacken Don't forget online play for RE5. As much as I hated RE5 and what it did to the series, online play with my friends is still fun. But you are right about every one of these games.
RE 0 = Funny little game, nice graphics, good idea, but needed more unlockables and co-op
RE Code Veronica = Nice addition, updated graphics from the normal, Miss the dodge feature, loved how strong the knife was, needed more unlockables. Puzzle solving was very challenging in this.

@Yeroen thats quite true but still capcom feels that the classic resident evil formula is getting old(the cool camera angles, the adaptable gameplay layout, that we all know and loved =] ),its was quite stupid for them to do that kind of style, there are those what i called "new-breed resident evil fans of RE4 & RE5" some of those really have no respect for us or the classic RE games.
But i think what capcom are trying to do is to attract new and more customers. sadly ignoring us on the way

I know they think that way, but it's not true. This week i borrow a Gamecube of a friend of mine because i havent played the remake yet. And damn, the remake is in my opinion a lot scarier than Dead Space, Alan Wake or another recent game. The only problem is the save points in my opinion.

I wonder why you couldn't hear this song on the NTSC version I played. I always played the PAL version as a kid, naturally for PAL being my region. But years later, when I played the NTSC version of the game on my PSP, I noticed the soundtrack was nothing like the PAL version, with PAL version being the better one.

I am a hard core fan of the old resident evils myself. By old I mean the survival horror aspect of the games that included eerie atmosphere, fitting music and a horde of zombies waiting to take a bite of you. Hopefully the developers go back to the consept of survival horror instead of this action based shooter.

I turned game off and had nightmares for a month. To bad the directors cut version has shitty remixes. Original was way better. But still i still play it to this day.

I guess that the scariest things in the RE is a low graphic lvl (big pixels, blurred colors and static camera). This is what we love for RE.

@Yeroen thats quite true but still capcom feels that the classic resident evil formula is getting old(the cool camera angles, the adaptable gameplay layout, that we all know and loved =] ),its was quite stupid for them to do that kind of style, there are those what i called "new-breed resident evil fans of RE4 & RE5" some of those really have no respect for us or the classic RE games.
But i think what capcom are trying to do is to attract new and more customers. sadly ignoring us on the way

@gerubax true but they release a new film in 2012 too bad just animated but it looks realy awesome- in perspective of Leon. I will go in cinema for this for shure.
Year the classic game series was awesome and still is.

I know they think that way, but it's not true. This week i borrow a Gamecube of a friend of mine because i havent played the remake yet. And damn, the remake is in my opinion a lot scarier than Dead Space, Alan Wake or another recent game. The only problem is the save points in my opinion.

@Yeroen im talking about RE 4 and re5 and the hollywood movies, they were quite unsatisfying at first but they were also enjoyable. As for the Remake it is harder and much more scarier plus they threw extra things and improve the existing area like the neptune's place

@Yeroen Wrong. Gameplay changes don't mean anything. RE4 and RE5 both contain characters and the continuation of the storyline from the older games.
While the films are set in an entirely different universe from the games.

This soundtrack MADE the game. The atmosphere you gained from it was incredible, nothing I've played since has come close.

VERY sadly, I don't think Resident Evil games will ever be as good as the older ones especially this one for it's creepy and incredibly emersive atmosphere.
Capcom should just listen to their older work and flippin take notes, seriously(I'm saying all this because I completed and hated the 5th game and I think it could have been so much better).

I just remember those times when you hear just one zombie somewhere down a hall and just the one would make me stop and have to work up the courage to continue because I never had enough bullets to deal with even one zombie. That was SURVIVAL horror

I wonder why you couldn't hear this song on the NTSC version I played. I always played the PAL version as a kid, naturally for PAL being my region. But years later, when I played the NTSC version of the game on my PSP, I noticed the soundtrack was nothing like the PAL version, with PAL version being the better one.

I am a hard core fan of the old resident evils myself. By old I mean the survival horror aspect of the games that included eerie atmosphere, fitting music and a horde of zombies waiting to take a bite of you. Hopefully the developers go back to the consept of survival horror instead of this action based shooter.

so glad i rebought this game, i remember the first time i played this i was 11 years old. The first time I saw the zombie turn around and stare at you scared the shit outta me. I turned game off and had nightmares for a month. To bad the directors cut version has shitty remixes. Original was way better. But still i still play it to this day.
