Xbox, PlayStation, and Wii you download updates. The Apple iPhone you have to buy a hole new phone.
gaming consoles new system every 4 or 5 years, that OK. iPhone new numbered phone (Ex. iPhone 3 than iPhone 4) every year & a half to 2 years. Apple is making us spend too much money!
@commodore256 Say all the crap you want about it, but their smart enough to make people buy it and their #1 in the electronic technology right now. Lol...
@Skimmitar88 That is called marketing. If issues were addressed in comparison advertising, people would be like "Wow, do I really wanna spend $300 on something I'm gonna throw away in 3 years?".
>Batteries only last 3 years, Apple doesn't support OS updates past 2 years - Who keeps a phone longer than 2 years? Most people have to get a phone before their two year contract is up because they've broken it or want to upgrade.
>Mobile Data plans suck - Has nothing to do with the iPhone specifically, this has to do with phones in general.
@wee493 It's stupid to spend hundreds of dollars on a device that you're gonna throw away in 2 years, it's a waste
I see technology as an investment, and $100 every year to buy a new low end iphone every 2 years (+dataplan from hell) is a bad investment.
I'm a big fan things being built to last
My way around the dataplans is get a used cdma phone and have it lie and say it's one of those free subsidized sprint phone with unlimited data, so sprint will think my used phone is the one on my plan

Yeah he did say bytes. It's bits. Bandwidth (speed) is measured in bits.

I could have swore he said mega bytes per second. It's mega BITS per second. Let me watch it again to double check.

@mobilephone2003 No!
>$200 for 16GB, $300 for 32GB or 400 for 64GB
>no removable storage to use moore's law to your advantage
>No removable battery
>Batteries only last 3 years
>Apple doesn't support OS updates past 2 years
>Mobile Data plans suck
For a "smartphone", it sure doesn't seem smart to buy one.
