  • Hey bud.Saw this video about a year and a half ago but i keep it because i like your version of sleepwalk. Still sounds cool! Just a source of inspiration for me.I only wish you had finished it!

  • AWESOME SLEEPWALK COVER MATE! :)

  • Does it compare to the Jamman? Cost/usability?

  • Nice last song ; )

  • Best piece of gear I EVER bought, its got EVERYTHING you need to record music and full length songs, it'll take inputs from almost anything - Guitar, Bass, Mic, Keyboard etc, WELL WORTH the price tag! (got mine for €350 locally) :)

  • CAT!

  • Love the grolsch strap locks bro. Thats the only way to go.

  • so could u use this souly as a delay pedal?

  • pedals 4 childrens.-

  • Good day -- Great video, thanks. I have one critical question (for me) -- How does the JM4 sound/play with regular guitar amps as the backline? This would include playing through the various models and effects, as well as how the pre-recorded backing tracks sound with a guitar amp. I've had situations before where tracks sound very bad (for obvious reasons) through guitar amps; is the JM4 "tuned" to play well with a guitar amp (tube or SS) as the backline?

    thanks!

  • hey whats that last song?

  • It's called Sleepwalk. G

  • Awesome video man! I also have a question..

Can you run a Tone Lab st through this looper? and if so, would it be the line 6, st, amp? or st, line 6, amp?

  • st, line 6, amp.

  • Hey man you are a really good guitar player. Kudos!

  • ▋▋84.817 Tones POD XT LIVE line6 2.0 Pocket X3 STUDIO▋▋

    web --- > myworld.ebay.es/paradisses/

  • It also doubles as an overly expensive but still crappy amp modeler.

  • So I own a DL4 and it seems like it's about on its last legs. I use it to loop stuff that I run through my mixer (vocals, drum machine, keyboards, etc) so I don't really use it for guitar. I'm in the market for a new looper but I'm curious if this one is any better than the DL4. Do you have a preference?

    Thanks!

  • This is a much better looper than the DL4 which only has 16 seconds of loop time. G

  • i buid mine today =) soooooooo cool this thing. with the dc card slot perfekt for looooooooongplay looping :D

sryfor the bad english (GERMAN) xD

  • Nevermind,... I just figured it out....sweet. Great vid by the way

  • I recently purchased a Line 6 JM4. Its a great device with a lot of capabilities thats for sure. But I dont line the fact that the vocals and guitar cant be recorded at the same time, only through Aux. I also have a TASCAM US-122l MIDI Interface, which I record my music with GarageBand. Works great but I cant get a buzzless sound when plugging my JM4 into the Interface. Do you have any knowledge on this subject or suggestions for if Im plugging it in wrong. ???

  • 8 shred guitarists expected a lame ass lightning fast guitar review

  • (sorry previous comment was truncated)

    again (I hope not)?

Thanks and have a great X-Mas!

    Nick.

  • Great demonstration of what the JM4 is capable of by a real guitarist! ;-) Nice!

I'm considering to buy a JM4 looper myself, but what I can't figure out: when you record a loop with a set of FX (like chorus and delay), is it possible to record a second track with completely different FX settings from different type of FX? Is a recorded track stored as audio (meaning: 'what you hear') or just stored as the clean input and do the FX used in the second loop also effect the FX in the first loop ag

  • Hi, any effects used when looping are recorded. You can not remove them then try different effects settings. G

  • RIP Bobby. My cat Rita loves it when I play my big amp... the tubes make the head nice and warm for her to lay on, and I swear when she lays up there I get about 5db of boost lol!

  • Luv your playing man! Thanks for the demo as well.

  • nice playing!

I'm just wondering does this "thing" work well with other separate od,dis, delay or any other padals in a chain? or it‘s just a multi-effects like gt10 ?

    RIP Bobby :)

  • Yes, Im sure it would work ok. G

  • are the effects the same as from the line 6 xt live?

  • Are you sure Bobby had passed away and not asleep after that!! ..:p great Demo loved it and sleepwalk too. Got one of these I bought months ago unopened in the box, not opened it coz I always get stressed out when I get this kinda gear new. so am gonna watch a load of these Demo's and take a deep breath and open it! Thx for posting!

    Keep Rockin!

  • Open it! You won't regret it. G

  • how much does it cost?

  • Great demo but my wife wants to know your cat's name since we have a very similiar looking cat but ours is 17.

  • He was called Bobby, sadly no longer with us. He was about 18 when this was made. G

  • good stuff! Can anyone help me out here? can I record full songs with this? I mean bass, guitar, and vocals? then save it and export it?

  • @gzsoltika I have one and yes you can. It has a separate mic input and various effects just for things like vocal, bass, acoustic guitar, pianos etc. It's quite awesome!

  • Amazing

what's that last song's name in your video?i love that song and Gretsch

    can you tell me?

  • It's called Sleepwalk. Check the Brian Setzer version. G

  • @blondegraemey

    appreciate!!

  • Amazing

what's that last song's name in your video?i love that song and Gretsch

    can you tell me?

  • You're amazing.

  • Hey G pickups what type of pickups do you have on your tele? Thanks.

  • Seymore Duncan alnico in bridge and mid and a hot rails in the neck. G

  • great video!

can this pedal be used as just a standalone looper, without any of the modelling or anything?

    thanks!

  • Yes, it can. G

  • what amp are you using?

  • Super cute cat. What's his/her name?

  • Im sorry to say he is no longer with us! His name was Bobby and he checked-out about six months after this video was made. He was eighteen years old so he had a good run, bless him! He was a brilliant cat who loved a good squash! RIP Bobby x

  • Please. What is the name of the last song?

  • It's called Sleepwalk.

  • Hey, I appreciate the video, a great help with my decision making. I also wanted to say that I really like your playing style. Really nice, you're talented. Thanks.

  • Thank you.

  • Hey buddy,I have few questions about it. Do you use amp during the playing or it was direct output ? And 2. ques. is , If i record a riff or something like that, can i save and bring back at stage ? Thank you and I'm sorry for my horrible English :))

  • Hi I just plugged into an amp (a Fender Twin I think?)

I don't think this unit is ideal for storing samples and replaying them on stage, it's more of a practice tool. G

  • Question! I know you can only select one input at time, either the XLR or Guitar In, but can you switch between the two inputs to create multi-instrumental loops?

  • You can play and sing at the same time and loop it. G

  • Nive vid and chops I got the Line 6 and it works live with a bit of planning!

  • I'm just a debutant performer and so impressed how KT. Tunstall used that "pedal"(?)on a T.V show to acc.her.Somebody advised me,line 6 jm4 will really be a good help..well,this demo seems to agree.....

  • I saw KT. Tunstall and she was unsing the Digitech Jam-Man.. Not the Line6.

  • the digitech jam man is a better unit for live performance and has auto record ,this jm4 has to much shit you dont need

  • @fungulotualatuarazza Does the jam man have a space for memory card or something?

  • yes it comes with a 128 mb card which gives 24 minutes of recording time ,however it will take up to a 2gig compact flash card which will give you 387 minutes of record time

  • Thanks buddy

  • Nice playing. I am trying to decide on whether to get the Boss looper or the line 6 looper. Which one do you think I should get. Can you change the tempo of the drums.

  • Yes, you can change the tempo of the drums. This is a great looper but the boss will be easier to use live. G

  • here's an idea: demo the pedal rather thna you playing skills. nice chops - however I cam here for a demo of the unti.

  • Great vid dude. Quick question, does this have an xlr input back there?

  • Yes, there is an XLR mic input. G

  • Can you bypass the amp models / effects and just use it fir looping / jam tracks?

  • Yes. G

  • the last song is a masterpiece

  • hey does anyone know the name of the last song he plays??? cheers.

  • It's called Sleepwalk. Check out the version by The Brian Setzer Orchestra. G

  • hollow body stuff just beautiful

  • Lol. When you first appeared looking all like a hardass, the cat just made me crack up.

  • hey is it possible to add your own backingtracks, and shift with the feeds, so you can youse live ?

  • Wow, that part with the hollowbody is beautiful!

  • I know right! Its sounds like something you might here on the streets of italy or somewhere in europe AWESOME JOB DUDE!!!

  • Try watching the video til the end.

The backing tracks are pre-programed into the JM4 for jamming. After showing some of those I play over a 30/40 second loop that I recorded myself. G

  • great pedal...but dude, u need to practice more jazz lol

  • What do you mean? There's no such thing as a wrong note in jazz haha!

  • "Somebody hit a wrong note, and jazz was born" -Art Blakey

Thanks for the demo once again. now i know why these line 6 pedals are so pricey.

  • anyone who buys this pedal is a strait up sucker... get the jamman buy digitech

    Reasons why:

-You Make the music and its not just drums

-It dosent take up as much room on your board

-it uses compact flash memory cards origionaly used for cameras to store loops on (soo its mathimaticaly, & scientifically impossible to have too many loops it)

-& its $20 less in the us

  • the JM4 uses SD which is cheaper and easier to get. i have a Jam Man and am considering getting a JM4

  • Or they can just disregard w/e you said because with the Line 6 JM4 Looper you can: - Make all the loops you want with your own music, or add in the drums or prerecorded tracks at your whim. - You don't need a board with the JM4 because it's got all the effects you could want built right in. - If you run out of room onboard, you can pop in an SD card or use the USB to go directly to your computer for any furthur storage and editing needs. - .I got mine on sale for $33 off.

  • CAT.

    haha

  • can i play loops with out drums???

  • Yes. G

  • Hey man, What kind of pickups are you using for that Les Paul??

  • A Seymore Duncan JB bridge and (some kind of) Dimarzo neck pick-up. G

  • I want one!!!! I just read about it on a magazine and immediatlely whised one.

  • can't exactly fit it in your pocket, try a mini van

  • i was talking to the guy in my local music shop only the other day about the jm4 it sounded great but a little complicated ,i have to say after hearing your demo i deffinately want one ,great guitar work ,bobby

  • I bought one the other day and I don't find it complicated at all, I'm usually pretty good with gadgets but I think the interface is very user friendly

  • kitty

  • Is it possible to change keys of the songs?

  • No, your stuck with the key. G

  • actually it is, go to the line 6 web page and checkout the FAQ´s for the JM4 looper where it says you in fact can change key

  • After you record your jam can you download it to your computer so you can burn it on a disc or MP3?

  • Yeah, you save it to mini disc then download to your computer. G

  • I believe that it is saved to an SD card (not a minidisc)...just clarifying...although I don't own a jm4 so I could be wrong

  • looks like it sounds very digital

  • Doh, not digital AT ALL it is recorded LIVE musicians

but then you're a pothead so there ya are ....

  • glad to see it's a big pedal they got all that software in there its really cool

  • Is this connected with a guitar amp or directly to speakers????????

    Cheers from Greece

  • Plugged straight into my 10 watt practice amp. G

  • nice playing, it looks a bit complicated for me ill stick with my rc 2

  • hell yea bro, rc-2 kicks ass!

  • Yes, I own a RC-2, and for the money and the size, it's very good; with a very useful rythm box built-in (instead of just the rythme guide of the RC-20XL or Digitech JamMan)

  • Hey, you sleepwalked through an impressive demo! What's the maximum recording duration for this unit?

    Ken W.

  • Hi Ken,

    I think it's about 40 mins. G

  • Thanks for the demo vid mate im thinking hard about buying one...Nice Steve Jones Les Paul custom as well....I really Like the Sex Pistols Steve really Knows how to Rock

  • Yeah! My all time hero!

  • Extremely underated Guitarist..with great Rytham and Tone...and really knows how to lay down some good heavy Rock

  • aside from the effects i like the jam man better. you can use a san disk

  • I'm weighing the benefits of the JM4, Boss RC 20XL and Akai Headrush, not certain which is the best for live looping at a gig. Great vid

  • First person from the north east I've seen on youtube! Great Video mate, played on one of these yesterday at reverb in stockton, they're great.

  • Cheers! Glad you like the video!

  • Graeme,

Can you use this pedal for acoustic or is it made more for electric guitars??

PS: I really want one !!

  • Yes Charlotte, there is an acoustic input and a mic input. G

  • Oh noooooo, I want one now !!!!!! great video as always , thanks !

    Frog x

  • hey mate recognise the accent, great playing mate,i,m gonna wait till they drop in price as they always do!!Sunderland lad here by the way!

  • Allreet! This one was just 200 quid from the shop 'guitar guitar' in Newcastle. That's the cheapest I've seen them. G

  • love the tones -are you using the supplied amp models on the looper?

  • Yes, just the JM4 into a little practice amp. The amp models are great sounding. G

  • hey graemey can you do a demo of the Electro Harmonix Flanger Hoax? I've had it for a whole year now and i'm just barely tapping into the really cool sounds you can get out of it. However it's kind of complicated and there's very few articles and such that go into detail on it. The instruction manual is one page!

  • I would love to but I don't own one! Maybe one day... G

  • 7:50 what is the name of this song? Thanx

  • It's called Sleepwalk. Originally by Santo and Johnny. Check out the version by the Brian Setzer Orchestra, thats similar to what Im attempting here (and I stress the word 'attempting' haha) G

  • THANKS!!! Your version is very good, I like it and your sound!

  • It's cool to see someone demoing this pedal, I know it can be a pain to explain. Thanks a bunch. For all you pedal junkies, check out my effects pedal blog, it's called Analog War Cry. Google it, it's the first find that comes up. Sign up to the mailing list to automatically be entered in a pedal giveaway.

  • its nice to see someone review equipment that actually shows off the equipment as well as his own skills, rather than just playing as fast as he can on 2 settings and calling it a review. Thanks man... This was truly helpful in my wanting to know if I want to purchase this pedal or not.

  • Thank you for the comment! Im pleased to be of assistance. G

  • I love your videos man, very knowledgeable.

  • great pedal video and playing!
