what i no....is that the gt1 is a very dangerous suoer car...it has a speed of 380/kh and taht is somnthing for a car in 2001 :) there are only 8 ouwners in the hould whorld that haz this Porsche 911 gt1...it is imposible even for a guy whit tuns of milions...if i hade one...nothing would make me selet....soori for mi bad eng :D

You are an ignorant idiot. There are two versions of the GT1, 993, 996. Production ceased in 1998. The GT1 has an even weight distribution thus making it inherently safe.

i think the GT1 is sort of a forgotten supercar. Probably cuz Porsche pushed the Carrera GT instead. but if i ever had 790 Euros... :D

Surely it's very good, but as supersport car I think that Dauer Porsche 962 have a better performance. But think about this: can you imagine the old Porsche 917 long tail version with that 12 cilinder engine that was used in CanAm championships in the 917/30 version !? With 1200 hp,may be even more and with only 850 kg weight, what speed it could attain !?... Or may be this engine adapted in the Dauer 962...

@LeoAndRas I had an evo mag years ago and they featured a road going Dauer 962 LM. It had like 750bhp or something like that and could hit 60 in under 3 seconds and reach 251mph. Its sad it never got the credit it deserved, well it did in racing, but it would destroy the McLaren F1 (which is my dream car) speedwise. The McLaren is slower yet it held the fastest road car "record" for years. I think there was a corvette sledgehammer which could do 254mph or something like that like 20 years ago

my dad bought a toyota mr2 in '03, and it's an amazingly well engineered car, cheep as well. it's basically a Lotus Elise with a 1ZZ engine as opposed to the lotus's 2ZZ-GE

Thats what the Carrera GT was supposed to be, a replacement for the '98 GT1. But instead Porsche canceled the project and turned it into a street car, made a deal with VW to share an SUV platform, and pulled out of prototype racing to let Audi dominate.
