on ps3 you can play it solo or co-op split screen without being online, just like the old zombie map. go to "solo" then "mission select"...the zombie maps should be last on the missions list.

actually the box can appear somewhere else in the level. when my friend got the teddy bear we were like " wtf is there a teddy bear?" then we saw the random box explode and we were all like "wtf". it was kinda funny in a way...
