Hey, I've been watching your vids and they are really informative for someone like me looking to apply for the next wave. One concern that I have is the solitude. I understand it's up to the person to go out and make friends, but it is rather difficult when you are in a foreign land and not able to speak the language. Is it that bad? How many other JET people can you expect to be around? BTW, I'm from Toronto, I'd die in rural areas!
@libd84 Hey there- glad to hear from another prospective Torontonian! As for your query, there are JET's around in most places (even small cities); I will say though that if you're placed in a fishing village that would prob be a case where you would be the only JET in town with the closest JET being perhaps an hour away by car. Otherwise, there should be at least someone else around and anyway there are usually lots of social events planned throughout the year too by JET's in your ken. :)
