How to get Free WiFi Tether on Droid X (rooted)

i have it installed, it works, but there is a verizon login screen. How do you get around that? It seems like i would be telling verizon that i am tethering and then all the charges will come.

When I open this on my phone, it pops up saying its running. Then it says from the original wifi app that "wireless hotspot running, touch to configure." and I can't use my wifi :( this does this with every app that I download.... Any solution?

Hey man, I rooted my phone successfully tonight, then got everything set up to tether like on your video. I have a droid x by the way. But when I start tethering, I can't get any kbps up or downloaded. they both stay around 0.2 kbps. What do I need to do?

I don't know if you are able to help me with my problem, but I'll give it a shot. I have a droid x. I rooted my phone and got the tether to work, but when I updated the software on my phone the rooting was gone. I rooted my phone again, but now I can't get connection from tethering. It shows on my pc the signal is great, but when I connect it, I cannot get onto the internet.

Everyone should be careful while doing this. 90% of Verizon customers who subscribe to the "Unlimited" $29.99 Data/TXT plan should know that it's NOT UNLIMITED. It's merely 5GB. Only the TEXTING portion is unlimited. Granted, 5GB over 3G is pretty hard to use up in a month, but it can happen. If it does, most likely Verizon will cut your Data services off and then they'll tell you that you have to pay extra for the rest of the month.

A great feature, but it's not really "unlimited."
