  • It's probably from US or UK.

  • I think that you are on the right way, because John Howard does sound very similiar, if not the same and also the style of music is rather same. It is also very interesting how he has released his singles & rarities, including: And The World / Call On You, It's You I Want, but not including this b-side song: Searching for Someone.

  • I contacted someone who put the song "John Howard" (AKA Quiz) "It's you I want" on youtube two weeks ago. Produced by Steven Levine (1981). The B-side of the single's called: "Searching for someone". Howard's voice is much alike the voice of the singer. I hope "Searching for siomeone" is the song we are looking for :-) Oh, I hope, hope, hope ...

  • @johnsteerling

You are very determined to find it :-)

  • Here some suggestions I found in discogs:

Silk - Fly away (ballad, Ireland 1984)

Charlie Cannon - A man without love

    Jerri Boni - Lonely man

Angelo - Time after time (LP: Dream machine, space synth, 1980)

    Evo - Finding the way

Does anybody know these songs? I hope so :-)

  • I checked out most italian disco related songs from 1982-1985 (some of them sound as ballads), but I'm afraid it's not an italian production as well. Maybe it's gospel-related? You never know. I'll keep trying. :-)

  • Wish it was that easy

I believe only someone who crossed that song ... can tell us

  • anyone with an iphone can just use the soundhog app to find the song name :)

  • Please advise Who,where, when

  • Ianstan probably disliked this song.

He'll soon find the better version of this one in his dusty basement haha

  • @janwebder

    Any more details ?

  • Woow,is really good !

  • f*** Bohemian rhapsody! "Fly away" is the best song ever made !!!!!

  • like a "secret servise"

  • It could be Miroslav Zbirka. I'm not sure, but the voice is very similar. Try to listen one of his songs. For example: Light up my life. Good luck! ;)

  • @Snakekame22 Maybe one of the songs on the album "Light up my life" :-)

  • Found it on an old Tape (Cassette) from 1983- 84

  • Recorded in Europe, hmm...

  • there is a change in my mind, leaving today, maybe nothing to find, deep into m souls, time on my side, until then i fly, walking down the streets so far away to find somebody else, everyone i need seems to turn away, walking down the streets so far away to reach another sky, nothing never seems to mean much anyway, don t know the way, and there is nowhere to hide, drifting around, like a needle that flies, keep me in mind, time after time before i fly high.. i Like the song but no clue :(

  • @cengiz35 Thanks! I'll never give up. Already checked out all the austrian charts 1984-1987 :-)

  • @cengiz35

like a needle that flies? haha ;-)

  • @cengiz35 "Like a needle that flies". Ja, jij hebt nu tijd genoeg om je met je needle bezig te houden nu je weer thuis zit :P ;-)

  • I got that one, it's not P.C. - Fly

But thanks for your effort. I ain't gonna give it up, it's too beautiful

  • @Oldiesalive Allready tried this one? "Harry staick express" "Somebody like you". It was in the Austrian charts round 1986.

  • Paul Coxx - Fly (lika an eagle - Bubbling under hit in Austria (breaker) on 14th september 1986. I'm not sure it's the one we're looking for, sorry :-)

  • I've not the slightest idea who sang this song. Here two suggestions allthough I can't find the songs anywhere on the net:

Paul Coxx - Fly (like an eagle), a singer from Austria

The Dice - Somebody else a group from the Netherlands

If you ever find the song, than please mail me :-)

  • A difficult one, a song with a clou. oof. :-)

  • This is a very beautiful song.

  • @Oldiesalive This has more of a late 70's feel than an 80's feel. Is it possible it was already many years old when you recorded it in 1984?

  • Not sure, it's more like a one hit wonder by a band no one ever heard of

  • i'm sure that's Air Supply
