How come they don't show Ulf Sterner trying to remove Cashman's tonsils with his stick? Cashman nearly had his tongue removed by that swedish surgeon!
I AM CANADIAN! it is important to note that the 1972 summit series was won by the CCP/RUSSIA/SOviet union and was won very handedly! the actual tournament rules which was agreed apon by both teams was that the team with the best goal differential at the end of the series was the winner! by midway through it became a laugher and CCP clearly had it won so they began resting their players to make it more interesting. Canadians are vbery strange people so tey told their people back home different
@ggqbc Uhhhhh no Canada won. If if what your saying is true(which it's not) they only scored one more goal then Canada so how is that winning "very Handedly" ? And halfway through they had 3 more goals so how is that a even an indication that it was gonna be "a laugher". And you are not Canadian that is pretty clear haha
Wayne Cashman got hurt near the end of the first game and thus did not play in the second game. Also Tony Esposito played goal in the first game, Ed Johnston plays goal in the 2nd. You can tell which game is which by the canadian goalie: Esposito is a lefty goalie, Johnson is a righty.
Well he talked a lot, and hated a lot but as a player (compared to the average canadian player), I think he played by the rules. Hadfield and Cashman where far worse.
@lgla He's gay and he took out he supressed frustration by playing like a lame fag. What these retards never understood and still don't understand is that nobody is scared of them.
This was NEVER broadcast in Canada-just in Europe. I hear it would cost $20,000 to buy a tape of it from Swedish TV. This is amazing!! I have been wanting to see this for 30 yrs now.

Wish that Ulf Samuelsson played back then. He could have teached that monky-asshole & idiot Phil Esposito a lesson or two;).

Typical Canada. Esposito just wants to show off in front of the opposing fans, he's not even mad, jut wants to look like a bad ass.

Espo clearly had his mind set about Swedes during his career - I´d say he was the kind of player you admired and hated at the same time :)

Canada won the first game 4-1 (Sep 16). I'm not sure about how many players were substituted for game 2 (Sep 17).

Thanks for posting.
I had never seen this game; I don't know if it was televised here, in Canada, but this is the first I've ever seen of it.
Has it been released commercially yet?
