  • can you add an extra crash to the kit? is it possible? like as in some other brands, u cant add cause there's a maximum number of holes to plug in the brain.

  • how do u change the hi-hat pedal to a bass pedal

  • Dude is it possible to play Avenged Sevenfold songs on this type of kit?

  • Can't heeaarr youuuuu. How 'bout subtitles?

  • @bjorn1000 turn up the volume then.

  • i hate the material used for the drum pads

  • wait , ur talkin about that latency , but do you have a midi-in then? my 505 has only a midi out, so i cant send other sounds to my module...(from my pc) any expierience or knowledge bout what is possible? exept buyin a completer new module, cheerss

  • The bass drum doesn't respond well to fast notes, so there is no point in buying a double bass pedal for this kit. If you want to use double bass with this kit, just change the hi-hat control pedal to a double bass sound. It may be hard to use at first but you get used to it and it works fine :)

  • @geoffpaddock It works fine with double bass pedals. Look at any of my other videos.

  • I've got this kit too, and I agree -- the latency through the MIDI is teeeeerrrible.

  • @SITS69 dude, buy yourself a audio interface, if ur messin with latency

  • How do I play drums through software?

  • can you add extra cymbals?

  • Does anyone remember Alexi Lalas? :-)

  • Hey man, where'd you get the remo heads from?

  • how would i go about setting this kit up to play guitar hero

  • omg, ITS GLOWS!

  • irish?

  • do you know where you got the drum heads...or how much they were :P?

  • WOW that's a really huge fucking floor tom you have back there with the blue rim!!! what size is that?!!! (i'm kidding)

  • this is the one from ebay right? if it is would you say the 450 is worth it?

  • nice beard dude, i wanna buy an electric kid for my apartment, does this kid it is a nice invertion, or should i look for a roland one???

  • what double pedal do you use?

  • my bass pad has broken :( any ideas where to get another one?

  • Things i need to know:

can you use ANY amp with this kit?

Can you use any old speekers with this kit?

how to u record yourself playing on this kit? (without amp or speekers, using your pc or something)

can you do anything to do with your pc with this kit? if so what?

  • can you turn the sensitivity off the drum module???

  • i bought this set and the bass pad cant handle double bass very well :( im sad lol

  • can this set be used for like hardcore stuff? and can you download sounds for it? cuz i want a set that you can make for bands like born of osiris and i bought this one lol please get back to me if you have the time i know this video is old but i gotta know lol thanks great vid to.

  • Thanks for this honest and in depth review! I'm happy I watched this since I was about to buy this kit before hearing about some of its limitations I hadn't known about before (like not being able to use mesh covers).

  • How big is this drum kit? How many meters wide? I want it to fit a very small space area, like 1.5 x 1 meters.

  • How big is this drum kit? How many meters wide? I want it to fit a very small space area, like 1.5 x 1 meters.

  • Can u use a guitar amp instead of the amp it comes with?

  • can you buzz on the. hi hat ???? and have it pick up all the notes.

  • Im a left handed drummer.can i change the position of the drum kit and cymbals to a left handed position?

  • Is that a serious question...of course you can.

  • are you from waterford? you sound like your from the deise...boy!!! :)

  • u r u from Canada or Ireland?

not trying to be a dick just wondering

  • hes irish

  • roland is the best 502 is a shit

  • this kit is shit-roland rules and is the best

  • the only problem i have had out of this kit is the bass drum pad SUCKS. you have to hit it really hard for it to pick up but i took it apart and cut the rubber in between the head and the censer and that helped some but not much over all not bad. i got mine new in the box for 250$ and i am very happy with it other then the bass pad.

  • Where did you get it for $250? Is it the OSP DD502 mkII?

  • So what you're saying essentially is "this kit's shite". You've repaired each pad once, replaced the original heads with Remos, shoved bricks in front of the bass module to stop it from moving, the latency of the brain module is far from responsive (to the point that you have it still in the bag it came in) and it's loud enough when you strike it without an amp to wake the dead (which really kinda destroys the ambience when you're jamming at low volumes). What's good about it again?

  • @thebishop72 upon my search for a great electric set, ive found that for EVERY DECENT Set in the 500 range has the need for repairs :/ the next level is the 1500 range until they dont if ever need repairs

  • im 14 and i am looking to buy a cheap(ish) electric drumkit i have previously had a pearl xp and other regular drumkits . i am pretty good on drums and am looking to find a quieter alternative to playing loud . so i figured i should get one . would you reccomend this dd502 or a different one . tap back cheers :P

  • if you say, you are "pretty good" - than you should get a roland set... it will sound better and will me more reliable

  • Can you set the hi hat control as a bass drum?

So you can have double bass without double pedal?

  • @SShireto Yes nearly every electric set allows you to change any sound to anything so you could have a weird double base with the smashing of the hihat pedal - just buy double bass pedals dude

  • Does the kick/bass pad register fast notes? :P.

  • Mmhmm

  • Might i say your beard is awesome :D

  • Can you replace a cymbal. Mine hardly works now and I can'[t find a replacement???

  • Yeah, any standard mono pad will work. But try opening it to repair it first.

  • the vid looks like its from 1981

  • it does

  • so would you say that the Alesis Trigger and BFD sound and perform better than the OSP module? I plan on getting a set like this but if there is latency with the MIDI out of the DD-502 module it'd be kinda useless to me..

  • The Alesis Trigger iO is a lot more customisable than the OSP module.

  • Thanks for the review - I'm gona get the TD-4

  • lol Look up stratocaster539's video lol lmao rofl

  • You can't put mesh heads on the 502 pads without modifying them

  • Thanks dude, I think Ill pass on the OSP's, maybe go with the alesis ($500)instead, what do you think?

  • Yeah, this is pretty much the worst ekit you can get, anything is better :P

  • Is this the Fame DD 502?

Can you recommend it to a begginner?

  • does anyone know if you can use the OSPDD502 for guitar hero world tour since it has a midi port?

  • I've had my DD 502 from OSP for 2 years now and it is very good. I put Evans G1 clear heads on the kit and they are great. I get very good rebound from the pads. The pads are velocity sensitive from the edge to the center for natural dynamics. I agree the pads are'nt very quiet, but for the price of this kit it is a very good product. In my experience it is best to use jazz weight sticks like 7A. If you use to heavy of a stick I think you are asking for trouble with the triggers coming apart.

  • did you use 8 inch heads to replace the originals?

  • I did yep

  • roland kits are the way to go....

  • Oh thanks man, i have S2 but i cant get it to make good sounds, i like addictive drums better but this module wont change midi mapping so i have to get alesis trigger io.

  • Does alesis trgger io work flawleslt with it?

  • Yes, works perfectly and very customisable

  • Hey man i have the exact same kit, and i am not happy with the module, If i use alesis trigger IO, deos it work well with it? Thanks

  • Yes, it works great

  • do you need an amp to hear it out loud?

  • Yes, you need an amp to hear it out loud.

  • alexi lalas

  • Do you need an amp or can you just plug in headphones?

  • You just plug in headphones

  • Its the exact same kit

  • I'm getting this kit for Christmas. It's in my garage. The only difference is the pads, I switched the plastic pads for rubber ;P I'm only a beginner with drums and my parents said i had to buy electrics or nothing at all. The noise....But anyway I'd probably rather electrics for some reason...Just find the acoustics a little loud..XD Merry Christmas!

  • lol same

  • anyone looking to buy good electric kit for very low price g]dont buy this save up and buy a dd 506 pro session kit such a good kit it has rim shot dual triggers on all cymbals and supports double bass peadl

  • i has it and it pwns so much ass

  • Can you use the hihat pedal as another bass pedal to play dubble bass?

  • Yes, but the tension won't be even so you'll be investing time in bad technique

  • how does this compare to the Session Pro DD505?

    BC93

  • This kit has a way better bass drum trigger.

  • its a big blue drum kick we can see behind you no ? IOI

  • i thought it was a small trampoline

  • it is

  • hey, im considering a trade for my ludwig 5pc for one of these with a guy i know, my question is if i want to add more cymbals to i need to add onother brain? thanks

  • hello can i use the ALESIS TRIGGER I/O on this drumkit and on MILLENIUM MPS-100...

    Thanks!!

  • there are fame, milleniun, medeli DD drums or MPS - are they the same??why??

  • im a metal drummer, can i use these? also what about a double bass pedal :P

  • Yes, you can use these for metal. Double bass pedals work fine on them.

  • I Have the Legacy DD-502

  • Thanks for the review, very useful. Have you seen the MKII version? Any difference from the kit you demo'd?

How much did it cost you to replace the heads with mesh?

  • No I have not tried the MKII version, so I don't know the differences. All it cost me was the price of new mesh heads, which were about nine euro each.

  • Whats a good beginner electric set? I need an electric set because of noise restrictions.

  • This is a perfect kit for beginners.

  • how do they work? like were do they get its power from?, and how 2 do u record?

  • They get power from a socket, like any electrical appliance. All the pads are plugged into a drum brain which the sounds come out of (headphones or line out). You record with a laptop or any device that can record line in.

  • oh, che-chi, cha-chi...lucky charms, there magically delicous!

  • one more thing so i can use my kit and the softwere and a midi interface witout any latency?

  • Yes, it just depends on the software

  • ok thanks, but do you know if that is hard to setup in NUendo and EZdrummer?

  • Should be plug and play, just assign midi notes to the drums in EZDrummer.

  • hello did you say that the midioutput was useless becuse im goning to buy the milleniumkit and that the same kit like this, and i have Nuendo softwere and Ezdrummer do you know if that gone to work? or do i need to buy special midi harwere?

  • The midi output is fine, I discovered after making this video. So you can use it with whatever midi interface.

  • I got a DD-502 about 8 months ago, and have been useing my brothers bass amp with it. I really need to get my own amp but ive had people tell me i need a bass and some say i need a keyboard amp, what do you think? Also ive been wanting to get a double bass for it, do you think it would work good on it?

  • A keyboard amp will work perfect with it. Yes, double bass pedals work fine with it.

  • hey im going to be getting one of these soon and i was wondering like how do i set up a double bass pedle do i just buy one and also can i like assign the hit hat pedle to bass and make it a double that way?

  • Setting up a double pedal on it is easy, you just do it the same way as you would on an acoustic kit. And yeah, you can assign the hihat pedal to a kickdrum sound if you want.

  • uhm what kind of heads did u replace the original ones with and also how would u go about setting up the hi hat to be a double bass

  • I replaced the heads with mesh heads, you can see how to do it in stratocaster539's. The instruction booklet you get with the kit shows you how to assign different sounds to different pads, it's simple.

  • this is also known as the SMI-1460 right?

  • Tis, thats another rebranding of it.

  • yes

  • dd505 or dd502? please reply

  • dd505 is better

  • realy thanks. any particular reason?

  • It's a newer model.

  • Yeah, they probably will. I'd recommend a roland kit, they're much quieter.

  • Yeah, but not that loudly. The loudest part of the kit is the kick pad if you're playing double bass.

  • Great video. Very informative.

I guess the 505 series is better?

  • Yep, newer

  • What kind of heads are usable with this kit, somebody said that cant use remo heads...

  • You can use remo heads but you have to modify the plastic ring so that it'll tighten. That or you can do the mesh head modification which you can find a video for on youtube by the user stratocaster539

  • if u have broke the skins tht many times then hit way to hard.but fair review on them i have this kit also and its fine ive had it for 1 and a half years and their still fine

  • I don't hit too hard, I just play death metal :D

There's no point lightly hitting the drums just to conserve them, because when you go onto a real kit you'll be playing too quietly, electric drums should be able to take the same hits as acoustic drums.

  • If you look up a user called "stratocaster539" he has a video detailing the modification. I changed it slightly in that I shaved the screw holes down rather than using builders tape.

  • same headphones as me :D

  • It's simple: When it comes to musical equipment, ESPECIALLY Electronic Drum kits, YOU GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR. This kit is a joke.

  • Yeah, it's pretty crap.

  • Yeah, it's quite shit. My hihat pad broke at the seem. I've had to make a bracket to hold it together. With a modification it works with mesh heads.

  • Medeli made in china..lol

  • Hey were you at greg's birthday?

  • I was indeed

  • i have this kit and mine came with black drum heads and it has great rebound. maybe i will post a video response

  • is this part 1 of 2 because i never see you play the kit.

  • This review addresses the parts of the kit, you can see me play it in plenty of other videos I've got.

  • is this set difficult to set up? thats the main thing im considering for if i buy it.

  • Nah, it's pretty easy to set up, takes about ten minutes every time after the first time.

  • Have you heard if the MkIIs fix any of the issues you've had with these?

  • I've no idea, are you talking about the newer rubbery pads? They have the same internal components, so I doubt it.

  • i have a osp one but i want to change the heads to evans but im not sure if they will fit good, i hope they do like they show on the ebay videos

  • I changed to remo heads, they didn't fit without shaving down the little screw holes on the pads.

  • why?

  • The Brain is replacable. So are the drum heads, and thats is the most important! replace with oil heads Pronto! the sticks will break too.. lol Get good ones!

  • oil heads?? on e-drum?

  • Checkout my mesh-head conversion for these pads.watch?v=CZAx68PAlYM

Good review! Get an alesis trigger i/o!!!

  • Thanks, I'll give that mesh head conversion a shot. Yep, I have an alesis trigger iO, I use it in some of my other videos.

  • Thanks for the review. I've been searching for an objective point of view for this product.

  • do you go to saletions?

  • No.

  • Cool review. thank you!

  • Can you put headphones into the set so you just hear the "drum" sound?

  • Hey, I didn't do that because there's already a few videos demonstrating the sounds, but if you check my other videos you can hear the sounds you get off it.

  • just wonderin , wat Double kik u have???

  • An Iron Cobra Power Glide...

  • I have it too!

    Good Video. I suscribed
