A superb video of classic Marantz gear. Yes it looks good, but has to be heard to really appreciate. I have a 3300 pre with a 240 amp and that pair walks all over my Holman preamp and Phase Linear 400 S11. Way more dynamic with a solidity to the low bass that is phenomenal. I have another 3300 connected to a Marantz 15 amplifier and that combo is excellent also. The build quality and circuit topology of this era Marantz electronics result in superior sound reproduction.
I have a 1530 , 3300 , model 20 tuner and a pl700 that I would like to sell. What do you think a reasonable asking price would be for the set? Thanks. Nice gear!
marantz 10B was their best tuner by far-all tube and mostly developed by legendary dick sequerra.but your model 20 is absolutely astounding! i love it! i´ve just compared my 79´ ST-7 to SANSUI TU-9900-the TU-9900´s reception is brilliant, but ST-7 sounds a lot better.
You have some nice gear there and I have seen other videos of yours. I'm looking for a reasonable 3300 to pre my 250 but have not found one yet. Till then I'm using a 1060's preamp section and it sounds fantastic through Marantz HD 770's.....I have seen your other gear...So whats a guy gotta do to get put in your will :)
What year was the equipment manufactured. The quality looks great. It seemed that Marantz had high quality gear in the 70's. But then quality went down in the 80's and early 90's. But then Marantz made a huge resurgence in the late 90's to become a good company again today.

the 20 is produced between 1969/1972
3300 250: 1972/1975 the same goes for the 1200B or older 1200
marantz/superscope(designer of marantz equiptment) sold 50% to Philips in Okt 1980
50% was those cheap Pm models designed by philips, and superscope designed the esotec line!! very nice But lesser quality then the 50/60/70's

philip bought everything in 1990.
In 2000 marantz became self dependend, But now it is a japanese company.
And the equiptment is still Shit..!!!
