im a scarab lord and im gonna finish the debate of good/bad vanilla vanilla was very prudent in epic events and fun but took incredibly long boring hours of farming questing ect im happy its over to see if blizzard will ever correct its masterpiece

Talk about nostalgia I hit 60 the day my server opened the gates. March 2006 I believe It was close to my Sisters Bday thats why I remember. The war effort was a huge pain unless you had some really good raiding guilds on your server. PvP servers were aweful everyone getting ganked/camped. Atleast thats how it was on Skullcrusher. The Sunwell effort compared to this was an absolute joke, waste of time and childs play. Anyway RIP Vanilla you will not be forgotten 5/5

@jallanbox Remember that Blizzard is a gaming company, all the managers see is Cash flow and not how the game has evolved and who Arthas really is. The designers and programmers must follow strict orders from the fucking managers (whom I really hate from any job perspective) . If they see that more people will play by making the game easy and that every bloody player who pays Euro13 / month will be able to kill Arthas and feel "EPIC", then it will be so!

Peronally I was lvl 30 when this event started on my server (The maelstrom). But I watched a friend of mine that was there (Iggy gnome rogue), it was epic.. Way better than anything else i've ever seen in world of warcraft.. wish things could go back to the way it was, I wrote a little note to blizz when i quit that I wish they would make a pre tbc server.. guess nothing have happened.... shame

Val'nir the new Legendary mace from The Secrets of Ulduar isn't just a drop any more, you have to collect the 30 pieces, which have a 4%-25% drop chance from certain bosses in Ulduar 25man, then you have to complete Yogg-Saron on hard mode, and then join the pieces together and then you finally have it!

i'm not sure if i'm totally right, but just wanted to make a point.

they dont open anymore, every new server would be opened once, once TBC came out all server were auto opened, you can still do the opening quest line, just no mount or battle etc, so to answer your question never.

Vids and stuff about the Gates of AQ make me feel bad as a player who started during TBC. Missed out on all the epic and legendary lore items like Atiesh and Ashbringer. Gates of AQ was one of the big things I missed out on. I mean come on! Only legendary mount and a massive quest line with dripping with lore. I was looking foward to being the opener of the gates in a new server. But Bliz in all their greatness said the Gates of AQ questline will be removed and it will be opened without the war

Opening the Gates of AQ took months of the entire server farming materials, people who wanted to be Scarab Lords had to go through weeks/months of rep grinds.
