i've got 3.5G/3G+/hspda that delivers me 17mbps and that's more than enough.

With all these higher speeds, do companies actually let you USE it? Or do they throttle the hell out of it.

For instance, in Canada we have Xplornet. Even 5mb/s users only get 0.75mb/s (ish) sustained.

4G supports 40 or 100 mb/s even. But what's the point when every time you use it you can slowed down to sub dsl like speeds?

I think they need to comeup wifi 3G 4G Lte hybrid modem then your covered from all aspects. I think the wimax is awsome just because it's the next step and it will be cheaper then verizons rob your wallet plan. LTE is going to get slow once you load it full of interent users.

4G broadband sounds fantastic but why are companies beinging to cap usage (5GB a month for Verizon etc...) and justify it by claiming unlimited usage would lead to severe bandwidth degridation. Ok so its 4G which means its faster... so does that mean we cap faster too?!

Clear wireless, if you get the service now while in it's infancy, has unlimited with no caps for life! Get it quick before they start capping their service, which i'm sure will happen when WiMax becomes more available. I have it, but in Vegas it's not as fast as Sprint 4g network cards:( I have a 2 year contract, so I'm totally stuck with it! :(

They have Service plans like 30bucks a month for 200gb usage. and they have plans for unlimited usage -.- hope they don't cap the unlimited usage . Like comcast and there cable -.-
