Damn, that is so cool, i worked on a movie set with will ferrell and it was soooooooo awesome seeing him and how everyone works on the set, i really want to get into the biz.
@jarrett2005x What part of Texas/New Mexico? Do you know? I live in TX and I have family in NM... it'd be funny if I was just miles from where they shot and didn't even know it xD
@jarrett2005x lol okay, thanks!! I figured out that they shot the texas part in Granger, tx. What I'm ticked about is I live less than 2 hours from there and I didn't know about it :( I would've went!! haha
This is good for anyone that thinks film sets are like the flash and glamor of the award events.
Film sets are very very industrial. To the new actors that ask me about working on film sets I like to tell them this phrase: "glitz and glam is your reward for rolling through dirt and sand"
It's a little cheesy, but it fits. Btw - hope the steam engine train has breaks! lol. :)
Seeing some of the casting tryout videos for Mattie Ross on YT makes me realize what a "gem" they found in Hailey Steinfeld! She is such a bright light in "True Grit" that I know she will have great success!
I Love the original too, I've got it memorized ..It will always be one of my favorites ... However as a kid .. I always wondered where in the Hell did all those mountains come from and golden aspen trees ..... Seeing how I had grown up in the Ft Smith/ oklahoma area where the book takes place.. The books ending ain't near as happy as the Hollywood/ Hal Wallis ending... I'm looking forward to having something to geaux see this Christmas, Thanks to the Brothers C.
"Remake", "Re-Do", "Re-Image"... whatever. Just goes to show that Hollywood has run out of original ideas. No need to have a 2010 version of "True Grit". The 1969 version was fine as is. If everyone is excited about this just because its the Cohen Brothers, then lets all wet our pants in anticipation of the Scorsese version in 2011, the George Lucas version in 2012, the Steven Speilberg version in 2013, and...
Thanks for posting these True Grit filming set videos.
Watching them makes me realize how hard it is to film movies. Everybody(cameramen, producers, directors, actors), has to do a movie scene take perfect in order for it to work. If one person messes up a take, they have to do the scene all over again.
Hailee Steinfeld and Jeff Bridges were good choices for roles in the True Grit remake. Bridges is one of the best actors.
That is the coolest steam engine. I was immediately impressed by it at the beginning of the movie. Anybody know if it's a reproduction? or original?

Looks good to me.
They have Hailee looking like Mattie is suppose to look like.
I'm looking forward to seeing this version.
I'm a big fan of the Duke and love his film version, but this is going to be good too.
Now I want to see how they have Jeff Bridges made up.

Any idea how long they'll be shooting here? I'm hoping they're still there in 2 weeks when I go down.
