I went to the theater on Jan 31st and watched the live telecast of their concert at House of Blues. Absolutely AMAZING! Chris' mandolin sounded awesome on a Bach sonata and it was totally cool to see Yo-Yo Ma rock out with Stuart Duncan on some old tyme Mountain Music.
Reminiscent of "Hands", but way beyond where you think it's going. Really wonderful lyrics; love this sound so much! Do another album, guys. Keep a good thing going.
@NoobBrood1 Not weird at all. I'm in the same boat. Like a good metal song, it well-composed and builds in intensity. Edgar Meyer and Bela Fleck (on their 'Music for Two' live album) did a bass/banjo duet called "Wooly Mammoth" that's mindblowingly heavy and shines in its virtuosity. I can't find it for free to listen to, but it's an epic composition, Metallica's "The Call of Ktulu."
No sé si es amor. De lo que no tengo duda es que sí es obsesión. Seducida por esos giros enloquecidos, por esas sensuales vueltas, por esos rodeos tan sugerentes.
Goats, Look on the liner note on the back of every album and movie you have loved for the past 20 years and you will find them. Goats have been making music sound great for everyone else. Now listen as the goats shine. I love Nashville. They may be stars, We call them neighbors. Cross bows.
I can hardly breathe.... my favorite music is Celtic.. my favorite cellist is Yo-Yo I also love goats..haha You have been able to reach my heartstrings and when played loud you have reached my inner rhythm.. I thank you for honoring my Celtic roots.. excellence.. pure and simple. From Hawaii I say Mahalo Nui Loa.
Sounds awesome, really good. However I can't be the only one to notice that anyone of their songs sounds like it should be in an episode of Firefly...
This is far away from my niche as far as music is concerned, but these instruments and styles combine so beautifully. This entire album takes me to a place I haven't been before.
@miguelitopobrecito he was probably gonna say "he swears like an Irishman" but then realized that the guy is probably Irish.... so decided motherfucker was more PC.
Hard-charging Celtic-American chamber music with just a hint of the far east in the cello solo -- the combination of passion and precision is simply breathtaking! The changes recall the Punch Brothers' "Rye Whiskey" and the approach reminds me of Abigail Washburn's "Sparrow Quartet" project. I pre-ordered the CD from Amazon along with Andy Statman's "old Brooklyn" -- and boy am I glad I did!
Simply beautiful! Great to see a master like Yo-Yo Ma continuing to expand his eclectic sound. I get goosebumps every time I hear this song. Thanks for the post!
Amazing song i just wish the ending was longer lol it gets uplifting then ends lol

Oh, Edward Meyer, Chris Thile and Stuart Duncan (along with Aoife O'Donovan on this song) wrote all of the music on the CD.

At 0:29, just after Chris says, "three," you can hear Edgar whisper, "Don't fuck up." Classic. Stuart is still smiling about it at 0:37.

For any of you who want to see more of Aoife singing, and watch a nice interview of her and her band, search YouTube:

This interview/song is one of five segments filmed by secondcousincurly - well done and enlightening...
