  • Wonderful... I've always worked on rigid surfaces but I see it works really well on canvas too. I thought the joint compound might crack. Love the addition of the fabric scrap to give extra texture! Texture rocks.

  • Excellent piece of Art work!!!!

  • @HanaPainting Thanks again :-))

  • Wow you are my insperation :) from sweden

  • @78Musi thanks!

  • I see you use canvas for your work, including the putty and gluing... do you ever use a more rigid surface, like a panel?

  • @That70sHeidi Well.. I did use panels in the past of course, but most of the time I use canvas. It's works fine for me.

  • practig . ik kom uit nl.

  • Carla you're incredible! i wish I could go to NL and learn from you!

  • @zouzoutti Thanks!

  • hi...i really liked this piece, its colours & its textures...very nice!

but i need to say i was horrified at the amount of precious water you wasted. here in western australia we arent allowed to water our gardens or wash our cars with a hose in summer because its so valuable! its 43 degrees in the shade here right now so you see why i might be a lil grumpy with these water restrictions.

anyway, my point being that a small pot of water is all you needed really.

    thanks for posting your video

  • Yes, you're right. I know there are places where people don't have that much water as we have here in The Netherlands. Our country is the #1 waterland I guess, we have a lot of dikes so we don't drown in all that water. At the moment there is rain and snow falling for months. Wish I could distribute the water around the world in a fair way..

  • then your country is very rich.

clean, fresh water is worth more than its weight in gold!

but i dont want to detract from your art.

(thats the point of your page). i love the texures you are getting! the wall filler is a good effect!...do you ever find any problem with it cracking?

    thank you

  • No, I've never had problems with cracking later in time (but sometimes I want it looks like cracking just at the start).

  • yes, i see!

    thank you for your reply

    best wishes

    Cheryl

  • You're welcome!

  • Wonderful Carla, love that colour family. I like when you stand back and look at the painting to consider your next move.

    Wendy

  • Hey Wendy, how are you?

I stand back a lot, so I thought: well show that, because it's part of the proces too (for me :)

  • i love it!!!

  • Hi Clara, glad you like it :)

  • Thank you for taking me on this journey of the music in your soul. Just the inspiration I needed today!

  • Hi Lisa!

Glad to give you a bit inspiration :)

    How is your painting going?

  • Hi Carla,

I so enjoy your videos!!!! I want to try this but I'm not sure what that medium is to fill holes in the wall. It almost looks like grout for tile. Is it very heavy when it dries? I love everything you do and have watched all your vids. You are so generous with your techniques. Thank you for doing this. it is very inspiring to know that someone would share so graciously and unselfishly to help others.

    Respectfully,

    Cheryl

  • I send you a message because I couldn't reply, may be because I gave you a link?

  • You are so generous to take the time to make this film to show us your talents and your works.. thank you... love the results.

  • Thank you too, for watching and give me a response! :)

  • Another beautiful picture Carla!

  • Mary, thank you!

  • very beautiful yet again Lady Carla..

i did however laugh when i seen how you dampened you piece.. as i do this with acrylic as well.. i also use my mouth on on my brushes to sharpen a point...

just shows how organic we are..

    bravo

  • I think a lot of artist do this :)

    Thanks Robert!

  • awesome vid

    i use saliva too lol

  • It was so stupid when I saw myself doing that :)

  • wow carla your just the best at this stuff your work is wonderful and i really enjoy watching you create love theses vidoes

  • Hi Crissi,

    Thanks for watching! :)

  • Wow.

  • Great Video Carla and nice result!

  • Thanks Gary :)

  • I love it, thanks for sharing your talents with these videos I am learning so much

  • That's a great gift for me, when you say you're learning from my vid, thanks!

  • Love your technique - texture, form and color.

    Thx for sharing.

  • Thanks for watching Laurie :)

  • I found it interesting, too, that in the first song in the background music you chose for your vid, the word "Maheo" was used which is the Cheyenne word used to address the Creator. and in the second song, the Lakota word :waste" (pronounced :washtay" which means "it is good." Your creation surely is on all levels. The spirits are clearly working through you, my girl. :)

  • Thank you so much!

  • Oh, Carla, you never cease to amaze me with your talent! I love that your saliva has become a part of your painting, merfing it with the beauty of your spirit in a very literal way. I'm half Cherokee and in my Cherokee culture saliva carries the essence of life/soul/spirit in it. and carries, too, the power of creation What a beautiful gift to give to your painting.

  • Thank you for the story about the saliva! That's a totally other way to look at it.
