I think that the brain cancer somehow made Izzie more perceptive, in sync with that layer of existence and allowed her to see Denny. I recall in S3, Izzie and Denny even tho they couldn’t see each other, “felt” each other when they happened to be at the same place at the same moment in SGH hallways.
I don't understand what is so confusing about this. Denny died in the second season. When you die, you cannot come back to life. Which means that he has to be a ghost or spirit that only she can see. I haven't watched GA since the beginning of the third season and I understood these scenes perfectly.

I thought he meant that he was there to take her with him to "heaven"/ the "after-life", whatever you want to call it. It was her decision if she wanted him to stay til the end or not, but by keeping him there she feels like she's resigning to the fact that shes going to die.
The way he says "I'm here for you" implies she doesn't have a chance, that he is here to collect her because she is definitely going to die. But she wants to fight for her life, not just go to death willingly. Thats why she gets him to leave.
Oh that LUCKY GIRL!!! Well I hope Den comes back one last time coz she's leaving the show....God knows I'd rather see him in this than that ugly costume in Watchmen!

I love this story line. As far fetched as it may seem, it really makes a lot of sense. Denny came back FOR Izzy. Not to let her grieve, not to give her one last time with him, but I think to take her with him to heaven. He died alone. He didn't want that for her. The last thing he wanted was for her to be scared or alone. Then, when she didn't die (the medical miracle) what was he supposed to do? He could have told her, but he let her have the last moments with people. I love this.Good job Greys

I may be in the minority with this (a fact I cheerfully understand), but I've come to like the whole Denny/ghost thing. While some may find it hoakie, I like the idea that Denny loved her so much that he was able to come back and spend some time with Izzie. Maybe it is just a hallucination, but it's one that I wouldn't mind having if someone I loved passed, and I found myself dying.
I love Denny, but I got over him and the whole story...and now I just want to see Izzie and Alex together...they match soo well and Alex is soo cute!!!
For me it isn't weird, there is a big reason why Denny is back in Izzi's life. Its because, for me, Izzi is sick, yes, plus she have to learn how to let go of certain things from the past, especially things that cannot happen again, like Denny... That loving somebody even though they are already dead isn't bad at all, in fact it only shows that you really do love the person truly, but you must still learn how to separate reality from fantasy.
I don't like the storyline, but this is so good & heartbreaking. The last scene when she finally realised she's sick is just amazing. I feel so sorry for Denny that it ended in that way. Hope he'll come back for a real goodbye :D And it would be crap if he's really gone because Izzie is still sick.
I think Katherine had her best Grey's moments with Jeffrey - always great acting.
If Izzie dies on the show, and that is an "IF", I have a feeling that Denny will be back one last time to take her with him to Heaven. I don't think she's condemned to hell or anything just because she didn't throw in the towel right away and choose not to fight. If she's really going to die, I think that Denny's going to give her her last few weeks/months however long she has left with her friends and give her the chance to fight without worrying about death.
I think that in her last few moments on Earth (if she dies), he'll be there for her so that she doesn't have to die alone like he did. He loves her too much to let her be scared and alone. I may not have been the biggest fan of this whole Denny/ghost storyline (it seemed to sci-fi at first), but if she has to die, I hope her death is meaningful and beautiful with her friends by her side, telling her it's okay to go, and Denny there taking her to Heaven. :(. (I'm going to cry now, excuse me :(. )
Im glad Izzie finally realised she's sick but I cried hard with her in that exam room & I want to hug her. She has no one alive to turn to or care or share her problem coz her living boyfriend didn't care to take her seriously but instead ridicule her problem 'I share my girlfriend but not my sandwich' . I'm glad she chose life and I really hope she is granted life, not for or becoz of Alex but for herself a girl who has a future, her dream to be a surgeon & to live to see Hannah get married..

oh my god. what? how? why? denny was so sweet and sad at the same time. Izzie is/was his heaven, there is no way he was her hell. the end scene here was amazingly sad. i cried like a baby..
