Suggestion. Make sure you have a means of keeping yourself ventilated in it. As for effect, make sure you can some how make it groan and roar like a big daddy.

@tyndall89 the dome is made out of a security camera dome and the portholes are vacuformed styrene plastic over a wood form that I made.

You should totally mount a small set of speakers somewhere in the helmet so that people around you hear the BD's vocal effects while you stomp around. You could even record your own, to be extra awesome.

Also, please make sure the non-solid parts of the costume are padded enough to look authentic. So many of these costumes are let down by the fact that the guy wearing them looks like a weed! Good work!

@funeralthrashx I used some reference images that I rendered using the Big daddy geometry that I ripped from the game. I printed out the pictures at different angles and then just measured them. I used like 1 inch on the picture = 1 foot real life.

@Greed3431 I started august 2010. I've started the boots already. I made the shape of the metal parts out of pink foam then covered that with bondo. Now I have to figure out how to make the fabric part the right shape. I'll make an update when I figure it out. Im pretty sick of working on this thing. lol

@Gagelovesmaccaroni the head is actually a security camera dome with portholes that I made glued onto it. Other smooth curves like the body were made by carving from expanding foam once it dried. Then I glued stretch fabric over it to smoothen out the little bubbles that happen when carving expanding foam. before coating the whole thing with fiberglass resin, there needed to be some sort of protective layer between the resin and the foam because it would melt. I used gesso.

@dricedt I started by printing out reference pictures and measuring. Then I cut out pink foam cross sections to make a general shape for the body put together with cardboard. I have pictures of the process. I'm thinking of making a narrated slideshow on most of the process.
