You don't release the hands to hit a draw. You have to come from the inside with the face slightly open. This starts the ball to the right, and curves it back to the left. Look up the Trackman ball flight laws and you'll find this to be true.

@fenderboy34 No, turning your hands over does not create the spin. You could be opening the clubface into impact and still draw the ball. The only thing that matters is where the face is oriented in relation to the path of the clubhead at the moment of impact. If the face is closed to that path, then the ball draws. If the face is open, then it fades. If they are the same then you get no curve.

The thought that you have to be closing the face through impact to hit a draw is fiction.

This is actually an inefficient way to hit a draw. The clubface determines where the ball starts and the swingpath createst the side spin. So you curve the ball with path.

To hit a proper draw which is a proper draw your swingpath has to be in to out with an open to square clubface. To clarify to hit a push draw the path has to be in to out but the clubface has to right of the target and the swing path has to be left of where the clubface is. Look at when Sean Foley describes how to hit a draw.

@f0cusen Yeah that is the proper way and actually, when you understand it, its the easier way. I find manipulating the clubface too much produces unpredictability. Swing produces predictable results. Not the manipulation of clubface. Even though, you must manipulate the clubface in order to produce certain spin on the ball. Golf, though, isn't easy. It requires YEARS of practice to even hold your own. Many more years if your hope is to "master" it. Although, mastery, hasn't been achieved

One of the major reasons why the average handicap as remained constant over the last 50 years even with advancement in technology. Now this video is teaching the player to curve the ball with the club face which just isn't possible.. Yes the ball will hook, it won't be very pretty, and it won't be hooking because of the face.
