Jin wouldn't have lasted very long against the 1st generation of the 3 kingdoms. Clever how they snuck up. I'm almost glad shu was defeated by wei, by men who stayed loyal to their cause. Don't get me wrong. I love shu and wanted it to win over the rest. But I have respect for Wei. Jin didn't even last very long after it united the land. And when it defeated Wu it was because Wu fell in corruption. Hardly something to brag about. I would have loved to see Jin face Wu before it weakened
Dynasty Warriors is such an inspiration. At the age of 12 this wonderful series got me so enthralled in its magic that I read RoTK and went on to become a history enthusiast learning about all sorts of historic periods! I feel bad for the people that don't get to learn and experience the magic that the Three Kingdoms and Dynasty Warriors has to offer, long live DW!
man i got my first dynasty warriors game when i was... i think 6? it was the third. i was in love with it ever since....i got into the history and biographies of these characters when i was 11.....man ive learned so much. if it werent for my dad buying me this game for me as a bday present, i wudnt know anything about this. im very glad for this game
I think they changed the style, for this time they decided to followed actual history instead of making up story for characters. Battle system is the same but how the story mode progress is truly magnificent IMO.
I hate when people complain that DW is the same every game. Why change something thats such a big hit? That's like making call of duty an RPG game like oblivion
I just want everyone to know that I loved the story and history of this so much that I went ahead and bought the Three Kingdoms foreign tv series (2010) off Amazon and even though I'm not a fan of foreign films, yet I don't mind reading English subtitles even if it's decently translated, I gotta say it's AMAZING. I might even go so far as to purchase the BOOK and I am not a fan of reading at all. DW is amazing for its story telling. Anyone who disagrees, just doesn't appreciate history. Simple.
The novel Romance of the Three Kingdoms is even crazier than Dynasty Warriors. No joke. It's awesome. It's also heavily fictionalized though, just like DW.

@TheDTD500 My cousin recommended me Dynasty Warriors 3 to me years ago too! But at the time they only had Extreme legends in stock so I took that so I didn't start following the ACTUAL history until Dynasty Warriors 4 came in and from there I was seriously hooked.

@Cusemanmike I recommend buying buying Three Kingdom's from university of california press unabridged, but you have to buy 2 books for the full story. I've enjoyed reading it, and some of the characters teach valuable morals/values/aesops and have maps of their battlefield strategies. I'd say it's one of the best historical fiction books ever written.

Then in 7 installments of Dynasty Warriors, I will put this BGM on the soundtrack, I want you to build a rock stage and in let's say, 25 days, I want you get 1 of each gender of each living creature on this ark, and I will flood the land with this BGM for every day and every night forever! - God
You know how in dw7 story mode they made you play as JUST one person in that battle? What they should have done is before every battle, you should be able to choose from 4 or 5 officers in that battle. For example, in the capture of chengdu, you should be able to choose from Wang Yuanji, Sima Zhao, Deng Ai, AND Zhong Hui.
@OIOKiteOIO I was pissed about lu bu not having his halberd too lol. I've been talkin to my friends and we think they're nerfing him (ditto for gang ning). As so, Ever since 6 my favorite has been ma chao who I thought was pretty bad ass in 3-5 too. But Zhuge Liang is the boss of DW6E.

@Maragriz mostly. I do agree that its in many ways one of the best DW games. It does follow the novel most of the time but its still got those bits here and there that bug me like Guan Suo living past the Nanman campaign. Well if I was in their period, this will be greatest plan ever: 1) help Cao Cao build wei and conquer the land early, plus recruit everyone in wei, wu and shu, 2) once Cao Cao dies of age, I will help Sima Yi to take control the kingdom, and final part is to wait for him and his sons to die of age and take the land for myself, if not my children will carry out the plan in the end I win over all, mhuaaaaaaaaaaa!
I too will always be a fan.....but something I think every DW fan wishes is that they never stop making Dynasty Warriors games, and they should NEVER stop selling the DW series outside of Japan because there are fans of this series all over the world......
@sasukevnaruto31 Meh, I say this version is better than Eve and Struggle by a subtle amount. It really showed how big of a final battle it really is. Mixing the main theme with Ultimate Fighting and Tales of Jin made it all suitable.

all moveset were the same, characters were missing ( Zhu Rong, Xing Cai and another) and some were using shitty weapon (excuse me but Lu Bu is the best, only with his Halberd)
but well, DW6 Empire weren't bad for one thing, his character creation was better that the one in DW5E but that one was better for story battle (just imagine yourself, a new guy fighting alonside the three kingdom against Yellow Turban or Dong Zhuo =P)

And they turned out great games (of course it varies on the person). Dynasty Warriors did they same thing as the series went on. New things added, enhanced, etc. They went to the new renbu system, but switched back (The fact that they actually tried something in a whole different view is remarkable to me).
@JasonXS12 I agree, I hate how the critics talk badly about DW games at least Koei isn't advertising them to be something they aren't. Koei keeps it the same game yet still maintains the game by updating graphics and giving more personality to the characters. Also with this music this game is a hack and slash paradise.
@JasonXS12 Maybe they expect more of a hack n' slash game? They want complex combos and and vastly different story lines? The SW and DW games focus more on Asian history which some gamers do not know as much as European history. This can be another problem.
@sojiro856 That is what makes it different from the rest of the games.the only thing that could be improved in next dw is adding more combos for each weapon and individual stories for each character(also add more battles for characters that have a short life span).

Just listening to this just took me back when I became a DW fan. Even now, just thinking about it over the years since the first official DW, Koei has made a long journey to make it this far. 100s of scenarios that were non-fiction or just maybe even a twist, new characters that came along the way, and THIS IS IT! DW7 scored it to the real ending of the 3 kingdoms with Jin dynasty. Dynasty Warriors is my life. Period.
Maybe the five people are the ones in the picture....Three of them did not completely live fulfill their expectations and the other two felt betrayed by the ones they thought were close....
I've played this series since DW3 XL (my first dynasty warriors game ever since the original 3 wasn't in stock wayyyyy back when) and I gotta say, I am fascinated with history and i play games for the story and I gotta say, even though DW's gameplay is repetitive (yet i can't stop?) the story is what puts me in awe. Even if exaggerated it's very entertaining. DW7 told the story in the best way yet and Jin was EXHILARATING, This final battle ^^^, when the song kicked on i got an adrenaline rush!

The one thing i wish Koei would was the ability to go online and play against other players like free for all or something and have you make u own character for that as well . I'll admit, Jiang Wei - despite your stubborn efforts. You did your best to do it all by yourself and try to reach to the greatest throne of Shu warriors. It's a shame you fell into a position where you were considered as "a shameful warrior" in a dark side of the history. It's not your fault, but it really was your nation's fault that they had weak politicians and emperor.
This song is amazing, but I couldn't help feel villainous cutting down the Shu generals as they talked about making a better land... Especially knowing how long Jin lasted anyway.
The Sima Clan..fucking unbelievable. Uniting a country under ONE man's ambition but carried out by his sons. It's quite remarkable. I'm not gonna lie though, back in the three kingdoms era I was rooting for Shu but by Jin Shu was just relentlessness in their campaigns led by Jiang Wei and each proved more pathetic then the next. By the 4th invasion I was like "Dude really? I'm sorry man but you're just not going to succeed. ." It was a disappointment but as for the sima clan....utterly brilliant
@RichardWiggler05 Don't get me wrong Jiang Wei was persistent and that's what Shu needed but if you noticed towards the 2nd and 3rd campaign, the people of Shu started to get frustrated and in the words of Sima Shi (I think it was) Shu was now clinging on to old ideals and obsolete ways of thinking and Wei was no more, it was a new kingdom and that was Jin. Not his exact words obviously but someting to that effect lol. But yeah Jiang Wei was persistent even though it can be seen as foolish.
@Cusemanmike That was Jiang Wei biggest flaw, he didn't know when to call it quits.At first I could applaud Jiang Wei's attemped to carry-on shu's legacy, but yea towards the end, it was what Dang Ai had said, it became an obsession and Shu was just attacking out of habbit, in my opinion, Shu died when Guan Yu was killed.

all moveset were the same, characters were missing ( Zhu Rong, Xing Cai and another) and some were using shitty weapon (excuse me but Lu Bu is the best, only with his Halberd)
but well, DW6 Empire weren't bad for one thing, his character creation was better that the one in DW5E but that one was better for story battle (just imagine yourself, a new guy fighting alonside the three kingdom against Yellow Turban or Dong Zhuo =P)

@JasonXS12 people who complain about Dynasty Warriors series being the same, are very ignorant... (I'm looking at games like Assassin's Creed/Halo/Modern Warfare etc.)
And they turned out great games (of course it varies on the person). Dynasty Warriors did they same thing as the series went on. New things added, enhanced, etc. They went to the new renbu system, but switched back (The fact that they actually tried something in a whole different view is remarkable to me).

Koei keeps it the same game yet still maintains the game by updating graphics and giving more personality to the characters. Also with this music this game is a hack and slash paradise.

The only thing I can complain about is the fact that there are a couple imitators trying to do the same thing DW did and ultimately fail, or become barely passable.

Speaking of imitations I have to say Strikeforce was disappointing.
DW's attempt to imitate Monster Hunter (as they even said that's what they were doing on their website) was pretty bad.

Just listening to this just took me back when I became a DW fan. Even now, just thinking about it over the years since the first official DW, Koei has made a long journey to make it this far. 100s of scenarios that were non-fiction or just maybe even a twist, new characters that came along the way, and THIS IS IT! DW7 scored it to the real ending of the 3 kingdoms with Jin dynasty. Dynasty Warriors is my life. Period.

I've played this series since DW3 XL (my first dynasty warriors game ever since the original 3 wasn't in stock wayyyyy back when) and I gotta say, I am fascinated with history and i play games for the story and I gotta say, even though DW's gameplay is repetitive (yet i can't stop?) the story is what puts me in awe. Even if exaggerated it's very entertaining. DW7 told the story in the best way yet and Jin was EXHILARATING, This final battle ^^^, when the song kicked on i got an adrenaline rush!

The one thing i wish Koei would was the ability to go online and play against other players like free for all or something and have you make u own character for that as well . The Sima Clan..fucking unbelievable. Uniting a country under ONE man's ambition but carried out by his sons. It's quite remarkable. I'm not gonna lie though, back in the three kingdoms era I was rooting for Shu but by Jin Shu was just relentlessness in their campaigns led by Jiang Wei and each proved more pathetic then the next. By the 4th invasion I was like "Dude really? I'm sorry man but you're just not going to succeed. ." It was a disappointment but as for the sima clan....utterly brilliant

@RichardWiggler05 Don't get me wrong Jiang Wei was persistent and that's what Shu needed but if you noticed towards the 2nd and 3rd campaign, the people of Shu started to get frustrated and in the words of Sima Shi (I think it was) Shu was now clinging on to old ideals and obsolete ways of thinking and Wei was no more, it was a new kingdom and that was Jin. Not his exact words obviously but someting to that effect lol. But yeah Jiang Wei was persistent even though it can be seen as foolish.

@Cusemanmike That was Jiang Wei biggest flaw, he didn't know when to call it quits.At first I could applaud Jiang Wei's attemped to carry-on shu's legacy, but yea towards the end, it was what Dang Ai had said, it became an obsession and Shu was just attacking out of habbit, in my opinion, Shu died when Guan Yu was killed.
