  • It was Dr Humphry Osmond (consulted with Aldous Huxley) that came up with the term 'Psychedelic', also Huxley mentions a philosopher in his book 'The Doors of Perception' that speculated that the brain has an eliminative function on the whole as opposed to being wholly productive - transmission theory of consciousness. I think this theory is a no-brainer when it comes to mind/brain interactions. Also, I experienced the same 'channelling' effect while writing a thesis on this very stuff once.

  • Mckenna fuckin RULES!!

  • Comment removed

  • where are the acid lovers, fuck shrooms

  • @friskyjackdoff Real LCD is too rare, but if you can prove you have the real deal I'm down !!!

  • what a absolute bull crap, we evolved over period of thousands of years just because some monkey may have eat some bad mushroms. the weird thing is that he actually believe that. and people call me stupid

  • @waldekzone11 "What a absolute bull crap"

    Nice English! Quick question...

What makes a mushroom "Bad". I have never come accross a "bad" mushroom, is it "bad" when someone eats a handful of shrooms, and from that moment on they treat everyone with more respect and love. Psychedelic trips have also been proven to help people end a destructive addiction that had been ruining their life.

This is a healthy theoretical discussion, the fact that you would rag on this is what makes you stupid.

  • @JustinCruze69 English isn't my first language but still i do not understand your reply to my comment especialy when you speaks of totaly different aspect/subject than my comment touches. You are talking about emotions and feelings that someone may or may not experience while being under the influence of shrooms (thanks for correction) and i am talking about thousands of years of human evolution

P.S. Bad shrooms or moushrooms means that if you eat them they can make you sick, ill

  • @waldekzone11 I can eat enough of anything to make me sick, A person can die if they drink too much water. That doesn't make water "Bad". Bad is a relative term. What is bad to me, might be good to you. So that's going nowhere.

As far as "Shrooms" (American slang for mushrooms) It seems to be the organic psychedelic "drugs" all have benefits- When taken in a healthy environment."Bad" trips can help rid people of "inner demons" so to speak

If guided through a trip by a shaman it's like therapy.

  • @JustinCruze69 I don't care about your shrooms, do not care wheather they are good or bad who they help or who they harm, do not care about meaning of bad shrooms or deffinition of a word bad. That is not ,my point or concern to demine shrooms or weed

i'm just saying that evloution didn't start by a monkey who ate one (got high). That is my whole point of my comment in response to 2:50 stoned ape theory

  • @waldekzone11 maybe many monkeys ate many shrooms over a long period of time, thus altering the consciousness on a genetic level. You don't have the information to say this is definetly NOT the case, no one does.

Your ego can't handle this idea because you've been conditioned to believe drugs are destructive and you are "better" than monkeys.

By the way Evolution didn't start. It is a continuous process, we are monkeys + they r us, the only difference is time and environmental pressure.

  • @JustinCruze69 First two paragraphs LMAO

    Third paragraph WELL DUH

And please don't twist my words

  • @waldekzone11 and how do YOU know this? you sound awfully like close minded religious nuts that KNOW for a FACT that there was an ark and some dude took a ride in a fish. stop being a dummy. animals will trip and get drunk when they can. during certain times of the year all types of animals congregate and eat fermented fruit. it's amazing. so this is entirely in the realm of possibility. again, quite being a close minded douche

  • @RandomTrollAccount Do you know how to read? Read my comments once again and make sure you understand what they say. Then reply just make sure that you ae not talking out of your ass. because how the hell you got religion and the fact that i do not believe in evolution out of my comments is beyond me

  • @RandomTrollAccount As to me being closed minded well takes one to know one. even if i was unbeliever in evolution which i am not it is you who is acting like a close minded douche by calling me a religious nut without even knowing what my beliefs are. I could be an atheist as far as you know.

  • ahh, is this where we got the concept of a spirit, or soul? Hmm.....

  • (continued) look at the affects it had.

  • @papermermaid

The bottom line is that all the regulatory agencies actions are at the behest of those they were supposedly intended to regulate and all three branches of government are not able to carry out their intended function.

Its a little more complex than "give me one example". It takes some time and due diligence. Start by finding a regulatory agency and there stance on the bills/ laws passed on those they regulate. You will find the ppl they regulate wrote the bills - then lo

  • lol all of this...with no evidence. none.

  • @papermermaid There is evidence, you just haven't been exposed to it.

The evidence of climate change is there. Climate change leads to behavior change. If the climate is altered drastically, then a source or many sources of food will change with it.

Studies have been done on cave paintings, They can prove by the patterns of design, which paintings are heavily influenced by psychedelics. And they are everywhere. How could you possibly know that this theory is untrue, that to me is your EGO !

  • @JustinCruze69

No, there isn't. He didn't present any, just snippets of a converstation that he said he had.

  • Hahahahaha... FInally!!! Someone else is finally saying this!!! I've been saying this for more than 2 years...

  • I've learn so much from listening to Duncan Trussell

  • Graham Hancock is a genius. I don't agree with all his personal views but he alone changed the way I view history and drove me to really seek knowledge and I've learned more pm my own in the last few years than I ever did in school.

  • I gave this a thumbs up because it is kind of interesting and I like Rogan, but I gotta call bullshit on this author. This is the type of weird, baseless science that ruined the History Channel.

  • According to David Eagleman, 97% of mental activity is not accessible to the conscious mind. He proposes that consciousness is like a stowaway aboard the titanic taking credit for all the work. That you constantly work out problems and simulations in your subconscious, and only become aware of an issue when your subconscious figures something out; Ergo the "aha!" moment. It could have taken you seconds, minutes, hours, days, weeks, or months to figure out what ends up seeming so obvious.

  • This is a GREAT discussion. ty for posting.

  • So the dude read 1984.

  • g gg g g ... Anxiety

    Dudes are right though

  • i learned to think out of the box from weed

i learned to evaluate my own behaviour from shrooms

i learned having a positive attitude from mdma

i learned being confident from coke

... the only thing i learned from alcohol... dancing like a fool :D

  • @jeffsstt Coke IMO has no place in there.

  • @jeffsstt Shrooms and weed = thumbs up, all the rest, no

  • @Supaduck0 I think MDMA is useful for the right people(ppl with PTSD, trouble opening up to others, or those who suffer from social awkwardness, self-loathing, etc. As for coke...opt for adderall instead, I do believe it can help for developing your confidence & personality.

  • It nearly breaks my heart how Hancock attributes what I call spirituality to drug usage, how various levels of enlightenment HAVE to be the cause of psychedelics, and ultimately reduces God to an acid trip. It reduces the best of humanity--hope, inspiration, creativity--to the mental contents of your next high. I reject that idea without waver. It is, however, nice to hear a different and thought-through viewpoint, no matter how much I disagree with it.

  • "I have a special playlist in my ipod thats all Terence McKenna lectures."

haha I have one too...I'm not alone.

  • @oheed he said mdma

  • ok ive been watching joe rogans videos for 9 hours holy shit podcast ..

  • "Pot cures cancer"

"It makes sense! All the joy it brings kills all the bad stuff!"// Joe Rogan

No. That does not make any sense.

  • @ohedd ofcourse it doesn't. if someone listen to rogan's podcast for serious life lectures that guy is a fucking stupid idiot. i only listen to this podcast for fun. because they are funny, like watching a comedy skit or something.

  • @3732334 A lot of people do tho.

  • @ohedd They were referring to MDMA (ecstasy), which is hard to believe, yes. But neither you or I have done any scientific method utilizing research to draw an accurate conclusion, about MDMA or Cannibas containing a cure for cancer. So we shouldn't be saying this "is" or "is not", but the information on cannabinoids is very interesting, I suggest ou look into that if you are interested.

  • @JustinCruze69 I'm not arguing for or against the fact, though Rogan's argument is illogical.

  • @ohedd Good vibrations go a long way. Positive and negative thoughts, have a vibrational frequency that does have a effect over everything. The power of our minds... we have the power to psych ourselves in or out of anything. I would wager you could give yourself cancer just be believing you WILL get it. Not the most scientific hypothesis right? But science is bound to a materialist view of the world. And therefore it will never be able to accept what IS possible.

  • @habadashery Power of mind? Your mind is transmittor substances going through neurons. These substances can neither kill nor nurture cancer cells. Your mind has nothing to do with if you get cancer in your foot.

  • @ohedd the laws of attraction smart guy

  • @ohedd why so sure? because you read it in a textbook?

  • @macryan19 Yes. What are your reasons to believe anything else?

  • good convo but the honcock dude delve pretty deep into psuedo-science near the end

  • Graham Hancock is a genius, look some of his shit up.

  • mdma cures you for a small amont of time. but after that you crash, because your seretonin/dopamin is run low.

  • i know exactly what he's talking about with freestyling in rapping, you tune in to inspiration and get lost in the music, this whole thing was so fascination. ha. wow. best video i've ever watched.

  • humphry osmond was the other guy who thought of "psychedelic"

  • @narahs22

Who is the guy speaking with the British accent?

  • @smoyer60 graham hancock
