  • What a rare voice, unique! Miss Ross can sing every kind of music. A very nice song from the best singer and performer of our time, Diana Ross.

    Thanks for posting.

  • GOOD SONG

  • Why was Motown records just sat on this song. This song and other ones as well could have been a number one for Diana Ross. Screwed up music industry. Now I want this song but where do I begin to start looking

  • Boring song !

  • when I found out there were more bonus songs from "Take Me Higher" aside from "Swing It" (which I loved for years) I had to investigate. And I have to say THIS SONG would've comfortably fit the project but a extra Diana vocal power at the end of the song really would've set it off. Those other 2 songs "Too Many Nights" was a bit bland but okay and "Soul Kiss"....I like it but that 80's sound is so evident til it wouldn't have fit into the flow of the cd/album.

  • In a way this is kind of like the sequel to Someday We'll be Together....

  • @Koach127 This is definitely, without question, the sequel to "Someday We'll Be Together". Unfortunately, Flo will never hear it. And with the way things have been going since the "Return to Love" tour flopped, neither will Mary. It's unfortunate that the dream realized in 1963 by three Black girls from Detroit would start off amazingly, but end in a much different (and sad) way than any of them realized.

  • Should have been released as a single. Gorgeous song, by a Goddess......

  • Diana one of the most beautiful voices of our time... she does this such justice... good for you Diane...

  • i couldnt find the bonus tracks from take me higher, but i found this one..its so pretty..which album is this from?

  • this is actually one of the tracks left off "Take Me Higher" in the US, along with "Soul Kiss", "Too Many Nights" and "Swing It" (although that one did get released domestically as the B side of "Gone")...

  • I wish she would sing a lot of these lost gems nowadays. However, the voice isn't what it was. In her recent concerts, she's relying more on backup singers to carry her. Her rich alto has definitely grown more rich and full with time, but I've noticed that she's lowering the original keys in many of her signature hits. I guess we all have to age sometime....

  • Jumpstreet1983 you sound like you don't know what you are talking about. Diana Ross is still a mezzo soprano ... and she still performs in the original key signatures her voice is somehow thicker today and has more tone, it has always been uniquely pitched Thats Diana Ross. She sounds like mature Diana Ross!

  • Robist10Hung, I know exactly what I'm talking about. I've seen her in concert more times than I can count. Have you? I wasn't bashing her, but I was saying that many of the original keys are lowered in her concerts. She's still a mezzo, yes, but her voice doesn't have some of the clarity that she used to have. That just comes with aging: after all, she's no spring chicken anymore. Stop getting upset at the truth.

  • The only person upset here is you JumpStreet1983 that often happens to young insecure persons when they are wrong. You dont know music theory you are just talking. I on the other hand READ IT, WRITE IT, TEACH IT. Music fluently. the key signatures are the same as in 1970 when she left The Supremes The only thing different is her tone and vocal depth.

  • Nope, Robust10Hung, older idiots like yourself get mad when a little hard truth is spoken and you don't agree with it. I could care less what you teach because it doesn't change my opinion, nor does music theory have anything to do with her natural voice deepening.

  • I tried to like her voice after the early 1980's, and it just didn't work for me, Her voice lost a lot of accurate pitch, clear tone and resonance it used to have.

  • this is a beautiful song.....i know diana has her enemies but somehow for me she just hits the spot....she has a song for every occasion. she is a legend no matter how often she gets pulled down

  • Such a beautiful delivery by a beautiful lady. Thanks for the post.

  • The beautiful voice of Diana Ross. Thank you for posting this....and THANK-YOU Diana for all the love in your music.

  • Ms. Ross the ultimate BOSS... What an amazing star, what an amazing talent... she doesn't try to sound like Whitney or Aretha, she just sounds like Ms. Ross and that is mighty FRICKN' UNIQUE... and well even if you don't agree she has reached, surpassed, and then redone legend... What a great voice and sound... thank you Diane... XXXX Darryl.

  • @ROXYLUCY well said my friend, keep spreading the love x

  • Where can I get this now??? Why did I never hear this? I too thought I had everything she has ever done... this is Ross at her best!

  • I thought I had every song by Ms. Ross. This is a nice surprise.

  • If Diana, Mary and Cindy ever reunited on stage, this should be their theme song. God knows that they need to bury the hatchet and get on with loving each other. They are in their 60's, and the chances of reuniting are getting slimmer and slimmer.

  • This is such a great song, and it should have been a hit for Diana. Unfortunately, it was slept on.

  • ela linda mulata cor divina

    gracias

    5****

    :) bjs

  • Been Lovin this often misunderstood lady since 1964. I was five years old when I first heard that voice. At forty eight, I thought I'd heard all of her recordings. I'm pleased to hear this gem, and be reminded of what a lovely talent she is. Thanks.

  • i love the bridge on this. sweet soul, diana.

  • ...this was on a the B side of I'm Gone/gone on the B of a cassette single in the UK from the Take Me Higher project

  • Only in Belgium it was available on cd as B-side of the single "I'm gone".

  • i know every song by d and this wasn't on any out takes - i'll email diana and i'll confirm that

  • I don't know the song either, but i guess it must have been an outtake from the "Take me higher" sessions? Lovely song wherever it came from.

  • but putting it on every month to me is weird, You put it on your IPOD once and it remains until you delete it. Thats whats throwing me off

  • I gotcha, what I do is every morning I make a playlist of what I want to hear on my way to work, depends on my mood mostly and believe me it never leaves my Ipod. With over 5700 songs in my pod Diana and this song gets heavy rotation!

  • Who produced this? Whoever it was they got a great performace out of her. The song was okay, her phrasing was amazing.

  • Nick martinelli! He's bad isn't he! Hell Listen at "the best years of My Life! He also did "Too Many Nights"! God I miss Those days!

  • This has "R&B HIT" written ALL OVER IT!

    ANOTHER missed opportunity...

This is a really beautiful song.

    I've never heard this before.

What's really fun, for me, anyway, is that I swear that I could hear Janet sing this, too, or maybe, a duet!!:)

  • The song is an outtake of the Take Me Higher album of 1995. It is written by Brenda Russell. It was a bonus track on some of the European Take Me Higher singles.

  • i have never heard this before. what was it on? i buy everything diana so not sure how i missed this.

  • WOW, so typical of Miss Ross style ballad! What album was this song recorded for???, year??? never heard it before

  • i loves it!! do me the biggest favour, help me add this song to my ipod. how can i get the song?

  • i loves it!! do me the biggest favour, help me add this song to my ipod. how can i get the song?

  • One of my favorite hidden gems by Diana,I put this on my ipod playlist at least once a month. Brenda Russell can sure write good songs!

  • i dont get it why do u put it on your ipod once a month???

  • I do Put on my playlist once a month because the song makes me "feel good". If you've loved and lost contact with someone or just that special someone that you miss, this song will hit you dead on. and besides that it's just an all around cool ass track.(smile) I love to hear Diana steppin' out of the norm.

  • Why ONCE a month? Why not everyday?

  • I like this ... sweet soulful sounding Diana Thank you for the post!
